I was at the pool today when a woman started having a conversation on her phone using the speaker.

I politely asked her if she could not use the speaker and pointed to my headphones.
She said, “I don’t have headphones.”
So I said, “You can just hold the phone next to your ear.”

She looked at me with a completely blank expression and said, “I’m on speakerphone.”
I said, “Well… that’s the problem.”

Apparently, we had reached the limits of modern technology.

Title pretty much speaks for itself. Am I missing something??

This is the THIRD time (sorry title is wrong) we’ve seen her do this. So who knows how many times she’s done it without us noticing?? We’ve caught her before but she keeps coming back. AND she literally brings scissors so she goes out the door to take roses from MY HOUSE. MY GOD are people shameless. Literally in broad daylight where everyone and our cameras can see. The last time we called her out, and yet she came back?? Also we did tell her to stop. Multiple times

got a new candle among other things for my birthday, lit it for a bit and blew it out.. roommate came home from work and "impulsively" stuck his FINGER in MY candle..we are already not friends, he's 20 whole years old..

Bought of few bottles for the family to drink for Labor Day and could not get the heck out of this CVS.

Cashier tells me the total and I say, “Oh, did you ring this one up too?” Indicating a bottle she had not rung up or bagged. A large bottle. The largest one, in fact.

She cancels transaction and restarts.

Bags the bottles, but had not rung up a totally different bottle. Cancel, begin again.

Now we have it all. I pay and gather to leave before realizing the Patron, which you get off the shelf as an empty box, then the cashier switches it behind the counter for a box with an actual bottle within—yea, box was still the empty one and cashier had walked off. I wait, she has to pull up the receipt to make sure she rung it up, then gives me the proper box.

At last I’m on my way out when the door sensors go off. Another cashier says, “It acts up sometimes, you’re fine!” So I carry on.

Upon getting to my car I see the cashier had left a security topper on a bottle, like the anti-theft tags on clothes, making it impossible to open. Back inside I went. No cashier in sight, so I wait around five minutes for someone to fix it.

I’m not exaggerating that I have never experienced time move so very slowly as it did today.

Why do people do this? Grow up.

Brand is Everyday California. Caption says it. I purchased this hoodie at the airport because it looked nice and I supported the company mission. Wore it home and washed based on their care instructions and the leather patch bled all over. Contacted them and they stated their policy won’t cover items previously worn or washed.

I was at Lake George in NY this weekend. Same type of shops as Atlantic City Boardwalk, but at a lake. Like most people who walk into these types of shops, me and my girlfriend were aimlessly browsing around. I saw a bunch of cute "resin flocked" key chains by the register and told my gf she should get one. While she was deciding which, I Googled for cat ones since she loves cats and the store didn't have any. Then I angrily hear "You should really leave right no" from over me. I look up and it was a 30 something manp at the desk. I was so confused and asked why and he said something along the lines of this store is for people looking to buy things and how I shouldn't be looking things up on my phone. There's no logical explanation behind this reaction but maybe he thought I was looking up prices and got offended. And then my gf got more annoyed than me because she genuinely was about to buy one

Now I can’t get a refund unless I send Amazon proof of ID even though it’s clearly been damaged while being delivered, it’s less than a £10 purchase too

He has a 3 car garage on the left side, the garage on the right closer to the camera is ours. Would love to park in the garage proper but with how much stuff we are still unpacking itll probably be a week until we clear the space.

I’ve (F19) been working for this one company for a few weeks now and have only a few days left. (I’m only helping because they’re in a lot of hurry.) Today this guy (M19) from the same staff rental company as me came in and started working alone with me on a new project. We were chatting and I used the expression “double-edged sword” in relation to using AI to study. This asshole then said something about “smart people like you” and continued to call me “moldy” under his breath. I was baffled but later on he continued to say all kinds of nonsense about girls and women in general.

English is not my first language btw so feel free to ask for clarification

I’m not entirely mad because maybe the person who got passed forward did everything I did AND shook their hands…and also because they didn’t need to give me a reason or rejection message at all but the table took up about three quarters of the room and I couldn’t reach the other side to them without making myself look stupid, and the walkway along the table was really narrow so it would have meant I had to clumsily walk sound all the other chairs to go over to them and shake each of their hands then awkwardly walk back AND none of them even got up when we entered the room so it didn’t even cross my mind that they wanted to shake hands? To be honest it feels like something other than not shaking their hands was the problem but they didn’t even need to give me any feedback I guess but wow if it really was just that then…Also professionalism? It seemed really weird that they were messaging me through text instead of emailing me like most companies do

Over the weekend, my dad (63M) and I (29F) went to a local swimming hole about a 45min drive out of town. I suspected it would be busy due to it being Father's Day and the weather is also starting to get warmer. Spring has officially sprung so we left early and arrived at about 9am.

When we got there, only one other group had set up; a young couple with two small children splashing around in the shallow water. We set up our blanket, towels, and picnic basket far from them, where the water was a little deeper, and then hopped in for a swim and a rope swing.

By about 11, the place was crowded and there weren't many spots left. Around noon, we came out of the water to eat our picnic lunch, and at the same time, a group of about 4 or 5 guys, probably in their mid-20s, showed up.

They set up right near us as there wasn't much space left and they had a Bluetooth speaker with them. It was taller than the toddlers we saw swimming when we first arrived. And of course they started pumping bass right in our ears. I'm not a very confrontational person and neither is my dad so we just silently packed up our lunch, which we had barely started eating, and went home.

We instead ate our picnic lunch on our blanket in the backyard with the dog and still had a lovely time. But come on. We went there to escape; to listen to the chirping of the cicadas, the singing of the birds, the trickle of the stream over the rocks, and the rustle of the leaves on the trees as they swayed in the wind. Not to hear your terrible music. Use headphones!

Yes I know merchants have to pay but in my opinion that should just be part of running their business. I scheduled an appointment last week to get 4 new tires installed for tomorrow. I got a reminder text today saying that they charge 3% for paying with a credit card. I promptly cancelled. I was already going to pay $877 so there is no way I am going to pay an extra $26 because I am using my card. I'm just tired of everyone wanting more. Fees for everything. Service charges. I'm over it.

Yes I know. I could pay cash or use my debit. I can also cancel and go somewhere else which I am doing.

Just a small rant because I am mildly infuriated.

What the hell is wrong with people.

I have no idea if this includes any other fees than “Taxes”. It’s frustrating. I wish there was a breakdown for the cleaning fee and other miscellaneous fees.

They have done this on hundreds of crossings.. For anyone confused, the lines and bumps should be swapped
