Mourning/Loss My son Mr.Patches crossed the rainbow bridge this morning.

He stood out as the only male pet in a house of 4 other female cats and a dog and stood out in personality just as much. He was cuddly, squeaky, goofy, and above all else, loved so very much.

He passed after a brief and sudden illness after a painfully short 4 years of getting zoomies while under the couch, standing on your face whenever he wanted attention, and hiding in cupboards.

When we found you behind the trash cans that night you were just a few months old. You were so small and playful, even when your new sisters didn't care for the extra company. You were fixed as soon as you could and blew up like a chubby balloon and yet still found a way to squeeze into the strangest places. While you may have known your name it was hardly ever what we called you, bubs, bubby, patchy, mr.boy, mr.poops, and wittle mans. Your mommies will miss you, your Daddy will miss you, and your kid will miss you so so so much bubs.

I miss you. I just met you a year ago when I met my boyfriend. You were his Mom's cat. You lost her in April. And today you went to be with her at 2:15 am.

My bf said he never liked people but you immediately warmed up to me when I first met you.

I spent the last 2 months trying to make sure you were fed and watered and kept safe after your nerve damage in the face and you sturggled to eat. You were so strong. You lost your eye sight but you still trusted me to take care of you. I am so sorry you didn't get a chance to make it to your new home when we move on Wednesday. I knew you were struggling.

I am glad you are not suffering anymore but you had such an impact on my life in a short time. I love you. I hope your mama welcomed you with open arms.

Your brother and sisters Willy and Lilly and Kitty miss you and love you too. Take care my wonderful Smokey. 💜

Mourning/Loss Stray kitten just left on the side of the road.

2 years ago today my husband and I were going to Walmart and we pulled into Walmart a way we usually never go.
In the grass I see this tiny little kitten and before he can even come to a complete stop I open the door and run over to him.
There’s a cat colony at Walmart and this little kitten was one of the many kittens in the colony, someone was careless I hit him and left him to die.
I went back to the car grabbed an old blanket and wrapped him up in it, I called around it was a Saturday so no vet was open, finally I called the emergency vet that is an hour away and explained the situation they told me to come on and so I did.
When we get there I was an emotional wreck it probably looked like it was my cat because of how distraught I was, and thinking back on it I still cry because life wasn’t fair for him.
They told me he had basically been crushed and there wasn’t much that could be done except to put him down, I stayed and held onto him when they injected him and it was almost instant, he wasn’t hurting anymore he was finally pain free. I asked them if I could take him home to bury him even though he wasn’t mine I still feel like he deserved it. The vet tech came out carrying him in this bag and it was still warm from him.. I cried so much that whole car ride back.
I never got the chance to give him a proper name, I told him that if he would have had a better chance I would have taken care of him. This little baby lays underneath the pear tree in my backyard, I know it may be dumb to cry over a cat that wasn’t mine, a cat that was a stray and hated people..I just wish his little life was different, I wish his injuries weren’t so bad that he would have eventually gotten better and he could have had a family.

Mourning/Loss I miss her already

And she's still alive, sleeping on the windowsill next to me

Pepper came into my life on January 12th when she and her (presumably) mother were caught in a trap and brought to the shelter I volunteer at. While her mum was a friendly and sweet tortie, Pepper was absolutely insanely fearful. Just reaching into her cage made her freak out, climb up the walls, growling, hissing, peeing/pooping herself and panting like a dog, tongue out and wide eyed.

While her mother found a new home quickly, Pepper spent almost 3.5 months hiding in a corner in a room with other young cats.

She just cowered there, watching, never moving. And in my eyes: suffering

On May 1st I decided to take her home as a friend for my first cat, I've been thinking about her at this point for weeks but on that day it was a spontaneous decision.

Once at home it took her a few weeks to realize she was safe and after 5 weeks I was able to pet her while feeding her treats. She was SO into food which definitely helped. And around that time my first cat started accepting her too.

Three weeks later we moved into our new apartment and this is where she transformed into a new cat, confident and asking for pets and food with this adorable silent meow. No actual voice, just the noise of her mouth and throat moving, almost like whispering "ah".

Then a month ago she became less interested in food, slept a lot, lost weight. She's always been skinny but not that skinny.

I started training her to stand on a scale and she did so well! We weighed everyday for training, thats how I noticed how quickly she lost weight.

2 weeks ago she weighed 2.5kgs, now she weighs 2kg.

Last Tuesday the vet diagnosed several lymphoma. He took a sample but it's been 7 days and the results arent back yet, but Pepper isn't doing well.

She stopped eating but will accept churus by licking it off my fingers. She still likes scritches on her head and cheeks but its clear that she has no energy anymore. She wants to eat but cant. She wants to use the litterbox but she doesn't always make it in time.

I can't help but feel like I failed her by not taking her to the vet earlier. She's my sweet little angel, she never did anything wrong at all and we just didn't have enough time. She's still a baby at 15 months

I know that she knows that she's loved and I'm so glad she didn't have to quietly fade away at the shelter. I don't regret bringing her home at all, even though all I seem to do in the past week is cleaning diarrhea and vomit from my floors and feeding her churrus and worrying to the point that I'm throwing up now too.

I'm not sure how much longer I can take this and its only been one week.

Tomorrow evening we're going to the vet again but I have this feeling that she's not coming back home again.

I'm not against relieving her from her suffering, but I also know she's going to fight the vet again just like she did at the shelter.

Last week it took 3 people to hold her down just so the vet could sedate her to be able to touch her at all.

The thought of her fighting for her life at the vet tomorrow instead of peacefully going to sleep is breaking my heart.

It's just so hard and the guilt is eating me alive.

She doesn't deserve this at all

Mourning/Loss saying goodbye…

I am absolutely devastated writing this. my baby girl jessie is being put down on thursday. i am distraught. she’s turning 16 next week and has been the most beautiful, supportive angel since i was 12. i picked her out of her litter when she was 8 weeks old and we have been best friends since.

i’ve struggled with my mental health growing up and she’s always been there right by my side during my manic and depressive episodes. she sleeps on my bed every night until recently when she got sick… she has a cancer lump and it’s huge. she can barely walk and she hides away all day and night now. she also rarely eats which is so out of character for her. i can tell she’s in immense pain.. i am trying not to lose it but i dont know how i will cope come thursday evening…

He's 6 y/o and fixed. Is he just kneading? Or is there something to be concerned about.

Advice My cat keeps peeing on my bed. How do I make him stop.

This is the culprit. Since adopting him from the shelter as a kitten, hes had the bad habit of peeing on my bed. We showed him and taught him how to use the litter box but for whatever reason he keeps coming back to my room to do his business. HE KNOWS how to use the box because he poops in it all the time. We do have another cat and they have separate litter boxes but they end up sharing both boxes (yes, we regularly clean them both)

I just bought a new comforter and mattress because due to so many "accidents" it just reeked. I've had this new bed for less than a month and I have to water vacuum it atleast once a week now. I keep my door closed but my family walk in here alot and dont shut it.

He's had his regular check ups, he is healthy- no signs of kidney/bladder stones. I haven't mentioned this to his vet since I thought that it'd stop eventually. I'm starting to think he just hates me- he always give me weird judgy looks anyways so I wouldnt be surprised.

He's about to be 1 in Nov. This isn't "kitten behavior" anymore. This is a grown man pissing on my bed now. How can I make it stop. Please.

Advice he ate a whole pot of mashed potatoes, will he be fine?

still wanted dinner tho

EDIT: I will call the restaurant tmrw asap. It is currently 1AM and I‘m not sure about the ingredients. Its a local restaurant so no online menu :(

He is a BIG cat, 6.5 Kg (vet says not overweight he‘s just really big)

The pot was a smaller one usually used for sauces and it was half full. I added a photo in the comments. portion was for two people (or one big cat I guess)

I‘m extremely worried and can‘t sleep so I will keep an eye out all night. pray for my poor baby please. I hope Kyuubi will be fine :(<3

I called the emergency vet and was told to wait until tomorrow as he is probably digesting it. he seems still hungry and fine.

EDIT 2: I just found him looking for more!!!

Cat Picture - OC Gf brought home a cat that i don’t want. Now me and him are best friends.

As title says. I wasn’t a fan of owning a cat, and always told my gf to please not bring one home. After months of her insisting, we finally agreed to go to the shelter and bring one home. It’s been 9 months now and I’m fairly confident i have the best cat ever. His name is Monoco, and he’s constantly sitting or sleeping on me. This little
Guy even helped me propose to my girlfriend. He had surgery on his eyes while in the shelter due to his eye lashes growing inwards, and is believe to be 6 years old. He was found in an abandoned house.

Edit: typo in title. To answer some common questions
1. She said yes and i am engaged
2. His name is from expedition 33. Love everyone that caught that.
3. As far as i can tell, and the vet, he’s healthy. He does have regular check ups.

Some absolute piece of shit abandoned this girl in a taped up small box outside of the mall in the rain. There was a closed container of food she could not access and no water available. Currently she is at the veterinary pending test results.

His name is V8 and can still get onto the roof even at his old age. He's the sweetest most cuddly boy and purrs like an engine (hence the name). All these photos have been taken within the last few months, even the vet expressed disbelief at the fact he will be 21 years old in march next year
