Mourning/Loss Tribute to my beloved Coco

Post image
Upvotes

This is my cat, Coco. She passed away at just two years old after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Two years sounds like such a short time, but every single moment she was with me felt like heaven. She brought so much warmth, comfort, and happiness into my life that I’ll never be able to put it properly into words.

I just wish I could have had more time with her. But if I could go back, I’d still choose every second I got with her.
Rest easy, Coco. You were loved more than you’ll ever know.

Update Cat prayers for our baby

Post image
Upvotes

Our little baby is being sick for a couple weeks already and after multiple vet visits, no one knows what is wrong with her yet. She won’t eat or drink anything and yesterday she got admitted again to strengthen for a operation tomorrow to look inside and hopefully find out what’s wrong with the little one. We need all the cat prayers on here 🙏🏼🤍🤍

Cat Picture - OC Update on this lil gremlin, the tiny kitten I found on the road :)

Decided to do a “things gremlin is smaller than” post because he’s just… that small ( his snacks, tea cup, remote controller, his wet food pouch, toilet paper roll, my slippers, phone, joystick, my hand…) . Swipe through and prepare to have your heart broken (in a good way).
Updates: took him to the vet, turns out he’s about 2 months old (we could tell from his teeth), but he’s so malnourished he only weighs 250g when he should be around 1kg for his age. He’s also developed a bit of conjunctivitis in his eyes.
For everyone asking for tips since I’m a vet student: when kittens get crusty discharge that starts sealing their eyes shut, you need to start gently cleaning it off ASAP with warm chamomile tea, otherwise they risk going blind. When they are this small, there aren’t many other things you could do unfortunately.
The good news: he’s eating great, purring, and playing already. We’re bulking up this lil guy one gram at a time :))

Advice Venting - the cats are ruining my mental health

Upvotes

Last year I adopted two female adult cats. They are now 10 years old. They family left the continent and they wanted to leave them with someone who was really invested and I loved them right away. I was aware that getting adult cats is difficult because they already had personalities and behaviors. I want to mention I've never had pets before. When I got them, F weighted 4kg, T weighted 3,7kg.
Now, one is overweight and the other is underweight. The overweight one wakes me up in the middle of the night, sometimes twice, to eat. I can't possibly ignore her. I can't send her into another room. The other one barely eats kibbles, I tried changing kibbles but she's not into them, and wants wet food constantly, which is not good for her elderly gums. Everytime I come home or wake up, she cries by the kitchen door, demanding food. When she eats, she doesn't know when to stop, and she vomits. And on top of it, she's losing weight.
On top of everything, I have insomnia, and the cats are not helping. My mental health has been spiraling for the past months, I feel angry and drained all the time.
I'm so attached to them, I love these cats so much and I can't possibly think about giving them away, after they've been given to me. It would break my heart and I could never forgive myself. And I don't know whou would take two senior cats.

Medical Questions My cat is allergic to fleas, would it be safe to let him outside?

Upvotes

I found out back in March that my car is allergic to fleas and it causes him to scratch constantly, he gets scabs and he scratches his face and makes himself get cuts.

He has been given medication which has removed the scabs and healed his cuts, stopped him from scratching but he still does but not as much as he used to.

He has been an inside cat since his flea allergy diagnosis and has been desperately wanting to go outside, whenever he would go outside he would only stay in the backyard or my front yard.

Would it be okay if i were to let him out every other day or would that be a bad decision? I know most cats like to go outside and that’s how he is, i just want to be cautious due to his flea allergy.

Advice I'm leaving my 2 months old kitten with my friend for 4 days as I'm travelling

Upvotes

hey guys,

need some reassurance from fellow cat owners because my anxiety is through the roof right now.
I just got a new kitten, she’s only 2 months old and I have to travel for 4 days. a good friend of mine is going to take care of her, but I can’t stop overthinking everything

she’s so tiny and we just started bonding. Is moving to a new place for a few days going to completely freak her out? Will she feel abandoned or get depressed thinking I just left her? And honestly, the silly thought that’s haunting me the most, she won’t forget me in 4 days right?

has anyone had to leave a kitten this young for a quick trip? How did they handle it, and what can I pack with her so she feels safe?

appreciate any advice or comfort, I just feel terrible leaving her so early on.

Advice what does this meow mean

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

turn volume all the way up

she’s done this a total of 4 times today it’s
repetitive meows for a short period of time I thought it was her wanting to play because when I came in there she’d be like in a hunting position with big eyes where we normally play but is this meow a bad or a good meow? she’s normally kinda chatty where she’ll greet you or when ur giving her a treat but never like that

also she starts this when she leaves my room not sure if that’ll help any

it’s 3am so I can’t ask any type of vet but i’ll get a 2nd opinion in the morning

Medical Questions Is this normal for cat's gums?

Thumbnail

Part of her gum is kinda hanging over her tooth. It's not hard like I'd think an abcess would be. It doesn't look like this on the other side. She eats fine and doesn't act like she's in pain but I know cats hide that kinda stuff. Seem normal or vet?

I was walking along and stumbled upon an infinite void; be careful while walking, you never know when one might appear and swallow you up with its cuteness… (((I'm writing this from the other side of the void, don’t send help, I’m right where I want to be)))
