Most pathetic field rush of all time

u/Bitter-Estimate-4412 2d ago

Nothing will ever come even close to how pathetic a field rush was after that.

The most “home cooking” bullshit in the history of the sport.

This is some 5th down bullshit.

Fuck this, man

u/TheBoilerCat Cincinnati Bearcats • Purdue Boilermakers 2d ago

They can’t even fucking explain where the extra second came from on the broadcast lmfao

u/Few-Race-8527 Purdue Boilermakers 2d ago

Their system APPARENTLY had it at 1…

u/KiwDaWabbit2 Iowa Hawkeyes • Creighton Bluejays 2d ago

Oh, the system that no one can see or account for.

u/ProposalSilent4582 2d ago

I like that is what it is. A system that ONLY the refs have access to? Yeah, right. That makes sense. The other systems inside the stadium and on the broadcast apparently are all wrong and the system that only the refs can see is right. So believable.

u/pmofmalasia Florida State • Michigan 2d ago

Nah they just came back on the broadcast to say that it was at 0 on their system too. Actually fucked

u/TheQuietSleeper023 Western Michigan Broncos 2d ago edited 2d ago

If that's the case then surely the governing authorities can overturn the result of the game after the fact? I'm not even trying to cope here like I'm legitimately asking. If they say themselves say the clock hit zero then the game is over and then the 1 second was added incorrectly. It's not even a judgement call like a catch or a borderline penalty.

Obviously, I don't expect anything to happen but I'm more just wondering if anything like that is even possible.

u/Bubbly_Survey_803 2d ago

Western Michigan should honestly file for an injunction. That was disgraceful and I feel horrible for their players and fans.

u/TheQuietSleeper023 Western Michigan Broncos 2d ago edited 2d ago

Might as well just for kicks, if nothing else, seems to be the theme in CFB these days.

Western legitimately won this game. The game was over.

u/paultheschmoop Team Chaos 2d ago

This is a very niche circumstance where I would be in favor of reversing the result of the game retroactively. There are no other variables at play. The game was over and an incorrect call extended it. WMU literally won lol

u/WIOH349 Florida Gators • Oregon Ducks 2d ago

Its not even retroactive. The game ended with WMU leading.

u/Benign_Banjo Illinois Fighting Illini 2d ago

ESPN literally updated their records to WMU 1-0 and Michigan 0-1 and then had to change it after the second was added.

Cheating ass team. Why are there two different clocks!?!

u/Icy-Taste-3096 NC State • Penn State 2d ago

There aren't. They literally just decided to give Michigan an extra chance after the game ended.

Total garbage. We suck. There wasn’t a second left. And we did not deserve that win. Underwood is dogshit

You know, if they had run the whole quarter without clock syncing, MAYBE there could be justification for the 1s time difference. But they had JUST RESET THE CLOCK TO 9 SECONDS FOR THAT PLAY.

“Please set the game clock to 9 seconds”

Broadcast, review clock, game clock all get set to 9 seconds. Play runs. Where does the mismatch occur??

There is legitimately no possible reason the review clock and game clock should be mismatched. They synchronized them THAT PLAY.

What a fucking joke. Not even Terry McAulay could try to defend that robbery.

u/TMPRKO North Carolina • Michigan 2d ago

Replay clearly shows time expired. Really sad for Western Michigan. Huge ass pull of a win. Early on this looks like a bad coaching hire.

I wasn’t sure how, but I just felt it in my gut the refs were gonna figure out how to give it to Michigan

u/SquiggleDoo Ohio State Buckeyes 2d ago

The result needs to be overturned, and the entire officiating crew needs to be fired or at the very least some sort of severe punishment. There’s no denying that this game was over. Even Gene, the “officiating expert” said the game was over.

Will this happen? Of course not, but I’m very curious as to how the NCAA is going to justify and handle this. It’s bad for the integrity of the game.

Whatever the outcome of this game, it’s all but confirmed that Michigan is hot ass.

Absolutely rigged. Clock was at 00:00. Western Michigan was ROBBED. Only consolation is that we all know they suck and JJ Buchanan caught the winning touchdown

Michigan fans should not be celebrating this win

u/Obese_Child Texas Longhorns 2d ago

I’ve never seen a more blatant steal in my life. I feel sick and I had no dog in this fight.

If I’m the AD at Western, I’m quite literally filing a lawsuit on Tuesday for illegal sports fixing against that referee crew to force discovery of this “clock with one second” in a court of law with actual consequences. Most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen in athletics.

u/Financial_Fox_305 2d ago

I’m going to report this post as being false.

Michigan did not win that game.

u/AchtungCloud Texas A&M Aggies 2d ago

Not even joking, feds should be investigating this and these refs need to end up arrested. This should end the sport. We have teams trying to play guys who bet on their own games and teams trying to play pros, now we have blatantly rigged games.

u/Klightgrove Oregon Ducks • Iowa Hawkeyes 2d ago

Best we can do is at least unrank Michigan for this.
