I like that is what it is. A system that ONLY the refs have access to? Yeah, right. That makes sense. The other systems inside the stadium and on the broadcast apparently are all wrong and the system that only the refs can see is right. So believable.

Obviously the clock before the play was correct cause they told clock operator to change it from 8 to 9. At that point the two should be synched.

They literally did do that too. There's no way the two clocks went out of sync in 9 seconds. The added second of 8 to 9 was real. The added second of 0 to 1 is not real. If the two systems went out of sync that fast then they must have the worst equipment ever. There wasn't a second left.

To be fair(and you can clown all you want this was embarrassing), Michigan spiked the ball at 10 sec and two seconds ran off and they only added one back. Still ridiculous to add that second at the end when it was clearly 0

A spike took 1-2 seconds. It was rightfully at 9. It was expected to put the time back to 9 instead of leaving it at 8.

Hey man I’m just stating what was shown on the game clock when he spiked it, which is the same argument as why there shouldn’t have been 1sec left bc it showed 0

Not dreaming, me and my buddy were yelling at the tv to make it 10 secs after the spike. Timing the play it was 9 secs

This is why we need the review center transparency across all the games. Even if somehow it was all above board and the right call, everyone is questioning the legitimacy of your product right now

Just what I was thinking. Get the review center out there. There is no harm in it. Everyone has seen how it operates. There's nothing top secret about reviews. It's purely just a bunch of screens and replays in slow motion from a billion angles with a few people talking. They need to show that. They can't pull stuff out of their ass like this.

I hear you. Still seems like blatant fix is blatant, but not sure I agree with your second point. Like it still seems pretty blatantly rigged and I feel like if they at least cut to some fake production room that had a view with ~0.7 seconds on the clock when the opposing player touches the ball so there's 1 second left seems a lot more plausible than what I saw tonight.

But we know the field clock was correct when it was reset from 0:08 to 0:09. So how was the 0:00 wrong?

I’m seeing some discussion saying the clock stops once it goes past the boundary or touches a player out of bounds. Is this correct?

Well yeah it always stops if the ball touches something out of bounds, as that's an extension of the ground in that case. However, the ball: A. Didn't touch anyone/anything until there were 0s on the clock and B. The player it touched was in the air.

The player it touched came from out of bounds. The ball is dead when he touches it.

Time was at 0:00 when he touched it though.

The ball was possibly out of bounds by the time he touched it. Then again, that was one bad camera angle.

A specific ref at different levels (including HS and college) do keep time on the field.

I’m not sure why they do it at the college level., but for HS, it’s because they don’t trust the clock operators OR the field doesn’t have a working clock.

I’m not saying that this is what happened in this game.
