Help: need a remote job ASAP / rant
I’m trying to make around $10,000 by the end of December and need to take on additional paid work to get there. I have some major upcoming financial obligations related to a property, so I’m trying to make this happen as quickly as possible.
I already have a job, but I’m looking for ongoing remote work/freelance work alongside it.
I can help with advanced Excel, financial modelling, financial analysis, valuation, forecasting, research, PowerPoint, content writing, marketing, sales/business development, data/admin work, and more.
I’m flexible with hours/time zones and can start immediately. I’m happy to discuss my experience and skills in more detail privately if that helps.
If you have paid work you need help with, please hmu me with the task + your budget. I’m looking to work, not asking for donations.

is this what they call; caregiver burnout?
i am not sure what’s happening to me, but i feel like i’m burnt out.
i’m F28, currently taking care of my mom in her 60s. i work 9-5 on weekdays, running errands for my mom on weekends, and take care of her financially and physically. she’s healthy and doing fine, but she’s extremely dependent on me, even for the smallest things. like opening a mineral bottle, giving medicine to our cats, making the bed, doing the laundry.
MAYBE i spoiled her too much back then but now the whole weight has been on me. and honestly, i’m exhausted.
i love her so much, i want to take care of her forever. but lately i’ve been very resentful and angry for whatever that’s happening and we’ve been fighting a lot. i feel bad everytime. but i can’t help to compare her with my peers’ functional parents.
i am, indeed, the asshole.

My husband has diagnosed F 60.2
Anyone experiencing this situation? Is it worth staying in the marriage with such a person? To add, he is better after he takes psychiatric pills, so controls more or less his anger and temper. Shows and gives love to us, but his criteria of acceptable and unacceptable differs and is often not according to the healthy norms. Ex., if kids say something bad to him even a bit, he is very offended by it and emotionally punishes them, and if the same they do to me when I react even a bit, I exaggerate. Rules implement differently. Same with his parents etc. In the past we have had many situations of unfairness and me being hurt by that. Seems like he tries to hange and to undestand. Is generally better than in the past as I said. Any advice?

Feeling behind
I've been feeling behind in life lately, I'm 21 working in fast food , didn't go to uni as I was told apprenticeship is the best route. Had many interviews but was always told I need more experience. I've failed my driving test 3 times over stupid things and now I need to redo my theory test (UK). I see other people my age working a job they like and living their life to the maximum while I feel like I'm losing time and I'm quite honestly fed up. Does anyone have any tips or life advice to give me ?

Grinding
I’ve come to realize that gone are the laid-back days and it’s high-time to start thinking about for my future. Working now for 7 days a week, having a part-time schedule on weekends would eventually my way to save up more in this really tough economic crisis and inflation. As long as I am physically able and strong as well as driven to succeed, it won’t be a burden not to take an off at the moment.
What’s your story about hard work?

Has anyone moved back in with family even though they could afford to live alone? Was the money saved actually worth it?

What would you tell your 38yo self
I see a lot of 'what if you were 18 again' posts. How about a more middle aged you? Im knee deep in young kids, soon to be ageing parents, mortgage etc. Life is OK but honestly it feels like the years are zooming by even if the days are long.

What’s a cheap item you bought for your house that instantly solved an annoying problem?
For me, it was a tiny cable holder for my desk so my charger stops falling behind the bed, and a simple door draft stopper.
What’s a small, cheap fix you got that made your daily home life way less frustrating?

Why doesn’t my rage face scare my GF or her parents but does scare strangers and coworkers?
I have bad rbf lol
I have it because I actually am outraged by feeling misunderstood in her circle, but most of the time it’s just stress or arousal that activates it (this is often majority of the week, which means yes it’s my default look

Does anyone have an app for managing household info during an emergency?
Had a minor emergency and suddenly needed an insurance document right away. Turns out my brilliant system is apparently searching through Gmail while stressed lol.
Now I’m wondering what people actually use for this stuff. Passports, insurance, medical info, legal docs, all the random household info you might suddenly need.
Is there an app specifically for this or is everyone just hoping they can find everything when something goes wrong?

My friendships and social life are actively draining me
21F and I don’t feel good about any of my friendships. They feel very one sided and I am the one constantly having to reassure them and check in on them rather than actually enjoy time together. They are somehow always the victims and have 100 problems every day to tell me. I also feel uncomfortable going out wjth them because many of them are not very socially adjusted and can be rude to servers etc so I always have to jump in. None of them have been able to keep a job and got fired for anger issues.
I don’t think I can manage these friendships anymore, it feels like having a second job and they have never once asked me how I’m doing. I am feeling especially stressed at the moment as I just spent the whole summer doing a full time internship while taking 3 classes, and this semester I’m taking 5 math classes and TAing another math course.
What should I do? I feel so upset that I don’t have a single friend I can just do nice things with without drama and I lack a support system in my life.

Life is hard, adulting is hard.
Have been thinking about this for a while.
At 38, life gets hard. The burden on these shoulders is immense and there is no escape. While I am not married or have kids, responsibility has found its way to me. Somedays I wonder, when will I get that relief. When will the weight on these shoulders go? Somedays are just tough on mental health.
Do I go and scream at an abyss? Do I go down the road, and not take my foot off the pedal until I see god or see clarity?
What’s the solution to this? How do I get motivated? How do I get back on track?
