I did the first leg of my trip last week and got stuck in a middle seat. Knees against the reclined person in front of me, pinned in the middle, couldn't move. Painful experience. So on my return flight today I paid $25 extra to have lots of legroom (exit row). Yay! Except ... I had a man-spreading huge guy next to me. Honestly, I wasn't angry at him because he was just a naturally big guy, not obese. But it sucked. I showed the airline stewardess and she asked me whether I wanted to move (full flight) or if she should speak to him. I said no, I just wanted a smile and sympathy. And she did that. Smiled, gave me a little hug, and said hey it's only 2.5hrs. What a sweetheart. But, cmon, this sucks. This was the 2/3 room I had for the whole flight.

I was at Lake George in NY this weekend. Same type of shops as Atlantic City Boardwalk, but at a lake. Like most people who walk into these types of shops, me and my girlfriend were aimlessly browsing around. I saw a bunch of cute "resin flocked" key chains by the register and told my gf she should get one. While she was deciding which, I Googled for cat ones since she loves cats and the store didn't have any. Then I angrily hear "You should really leave right no" from over me. I look up and it was a 30 something manp at the desk. I was so confused and asked why and he said something along the lines of this store is for people looking to buy things and how I shouldn't be looking things up on my phone. There's no logical explanation behind this reaction but maybe he thought I was looking up prices and got offended. And then my gf got more annoyed than me because she genuinely was about to buy one

I don't know how this is allowed by the service provider.

My fear is that LG knows what I am doing when I sit down to release some poop, are they snooping on my pooping too because they can hear me?

I am trying to figure out if I should sue because they listen to me poo.

“Cannot sign in” “okay let’s help you with that….you need to sign in first” Sony REFUSES to let you speak to a human unless you sign in. These automated systems are taking over and it’s already out of hand. I’m COMPLETELY locked out of my account that I’ve spent HUNDREDS of dollars on. I’m crying inside. (I don’t have access to the recovery phone number)

They just snatched it and said something about rescuing it from a monster for eating it wrong. Isn't stealing wrong though?

Returned a rental car to an airport. I stopped at a gas station about a mile away first. Put $46 into the car. I left it run until it clicked off. Then added a little more because I like ‘rounding up’ to the nearest dollar. I get in the car and turn it on, the fuel guage shows full. Drive to budget and drop the car off. While sitting at the airport gate I get notice that my car was checked in and they charged me 7.25. I’m curious why my prepaid reservation has any charges. I look at my receipt and see this. How TF can you even know that there’s a half gallon of gas missing when the fuel gauge is full?

I don’t remember exactly how the gauge looks but if it was even a 10 step gauge, 90% should be 13.3 gallons. And if it’s a gauge marked in eighths that should be around 12.9 gallons.

So I ask again how does anybody actually know 0.6 gallons is missing?

I have this wireless (bluetooth) speaker that I occasionally use when I feel not using the main amp in my room. But whoever made this speaker decided to make it power down when no sound was made from it for five minutes. I would have to leave my cozy bed to turn it on again.

This is not a connection problem. This is solely the program inside of it. I get turning off to save power when it's not connected for some time but this thing turns off even if it's connected. So I have to make some sound every 5 minutes to keep it live.

I can't keep it closer to my bed bc it ruins the sound experience. I has its own power backup so I can't use the power line to reset it. I can't make changes to it bc it's some proprietary chip. Been thinking about ripping the pcb out and replacing it with one from my collection. or some small circuit with a remort to turn it on and off. This is annoying as heck...

What the hell is wrong with people.

Why must all brown pieces come to this end?

Context: we have an outdoor bath (interesting design choice from previous owner), a lizards crawled over the tap tuning it on, that then drained our hot water system. We only found out after it’s likely been running for many hours and we had no hot water.

i drink a lot of coffee. i like to mix it up and bounce around between coffee shops. and i travel a lot so i get to try all kinds of different coffee. nothing bothers me more than a coffee shop that insists on choosing how much cream i get in my coffee.

sometimes i ask for a small cup on the side so i can do it myself. and sometimes i even pay extra for that. it’s not a control thing, it’s a temperature thing and a brew thing. you never know how strong (or weak) it’s going to be. and you never know how hot it’s going to be until you have a cup of black coffee in hand and you are free to take that first sip. sometimes you don’t need it at all.

there are coffee shops all over who insist on handling it behind the counter. sometimes they let you say “when” but then it becomes a game of reflex and response. when i feel that coming on i start to watch how they are moving. are they slow and clumsy or are they full of energy? you gotta time that “when” just right. and even then it’s a gamble. is it hot? is it bold?

and don’t get me started on the “splash” people. what the hell is a splash anyway? or a “drop”, or “just a little”? those are not real measurements.

just let me do it myself and stop ruining the experience.

A motorcycle parked behind my hotel shuttle all night. The van isn't a decoration, we take airport shuttles early in the morning, and this isn't a parking space.

You know how iPhone alarms were suddenly going off silently for a bunch of people? Time for a new glitch! Overnight, my clock (and calendar app) sometimes go clear, no alarms go off, and all my alarms look erased. Even going into other apps doesn’t work, keeps saying it failed to load.

Only fixed my restarting my phone, and then once my phone restarted, my beautiful alarm went off as if it had been going off this whole time.

Can’t find anyone else online dealing with this :(

okay so another cashiering story, this just happened.

important thing to note from my side is that our door chime is currently broken and the store can be incredibly loud at times due to machinery in the building, so sometimes I genuinely can't hear when someone walks in.

I was on the floor in front of my register, trying to clean up after my dinner when a lady walked in. she couldn't have been waiting for more than two seconds because I only had to pick up three things.

me: how can I help you?

her, already sounding angry: I want to fill up on 10.

I glance at pump 10 on my register, looks like her card declined on my end. alrighty, that's fine, sometimes the pumps do that and it'll go through inside.

me: I'm sorry, I need a dollar amount inside.

her, getting more pissed off: fine, put $40. it'll go back on the card, right?

me: yes it will. (I get to the point on my screen where it asks for a membership) do you have rewards with us?

her, sounding even angrier somehow: no.

I get it, everyone is asking for rewards nowadays, but my gas station is one of the ones that charges less if you're a member, so I try to ask everyone so they get charged what they're supposed to.

her card declined and I set the register up for her to try again because I'm sending she's doing something with her card and can see her mess with her phone. she snaps at me that she's ready to pay again so I tell her the register is ready for her card.

she pays and goes to leave and I just call out to her "I hope you have a nice day!" because she sounded like she needed something good to happen.

she told me to fuck off.
