NYzipline in Schenectady is hiring for its ZOMBIE Zips experience and needs people who can commit to being genuinely unsettling in the woods for a few hours — moaning, lurching, jumping out at guests.
No acting experience needed, just commitment to the bit. Makeup/costume provided. Paid gig $16/hr with dinner included.
DM me or comment if interested — happy to answer questions about what the night looks like.
Every Friday & Saturday night in October from 6:30-10:30.

Just got home to a dirty old mattress on the side of the road, carefully placed between the signs 🙃

Looking for recommendations for a good place to visit within about 45 minutes of Colonie/Latham! 🍎
We’re planning to go on a Friday morning later this month for our anniversary, but we’re also hoping to avoid the crowds since we’ll have a young toddler with us.
Anything that’s especially toddler-friendly for an almost-2-year-old would be great! We had a bad experience last year with a couple of smaller orchards running low on apples, so we’d love somewhere with a good selection.
A huge bonus if they have food on-site, even just a little café or something simple. Nothing fancy!
We’ve already been to:
Bowman Orchards
Indian Ladder Farms
Riverview Orchards in Redford
Liberty Ridge Farm
So we’re hoping to find somewhere new to try!
Thanks, pals! 🍏

I want a pet but I cannot commit to years as I do not know where I’ll end up. Is foster for periods at a time still a thing?
Edit: wow thank you sm for all of the replies, is there anything I need to know/do before fostering?

Welcome to Albany, where no one pays attention to speed limits or signs on the road!
The city itself is bad enough (I saw someone going 53 through a school zone), but once you get on the Northway, all bets are off. Is it really that hard to read road signs, and slow down in the quarter mile stretch of roadwork by the Twin Bridges? I just saw three different cars this afternoon decide that the people ahead of them weren't going fast enough, and pass over double white lines through the work zone… ⚠️⛔️

Hello,
New to the area. I have a son who likes his hair braided (usually box braids) and would love a suggestion of someone who is patient/gentle with kids. Also, recommendations for pedicures?
Thank you!

Any1 noticed the influx of police presence on the trail going towards Troy? 2 days ago I passed by 3 cops riding their bikes and now today there was a cop car driving on the bike trail. Kinda weird odd. Been going running/biking for years and never seen one before

I'm in the area and it's my birthday next Monday, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for places to visit, eat or otherwise hang out with for a party of one. Or just some of the must see sights of Albany in general

The one at four winds is either virtual or hybrid and that isn't accessible to me. I really need the additional support and have been pretty upset I can't find something accessible

Has anyone ever used the dog wash at the Elite in Castleton? I can’t find any info on it to know what to expect. Pricing? Bring our own shampoo? Any info is appreciated!

Hi everyone!
I’m new to the Albany area and will be getting around by bus. I know some cities (like Pittsburgh) have apps specifically for the buses. Is there anything like that for this area? Also is there a place to easily read the different bus schedules? I’m assuming if there’s not an app I can pay with my card or cash. Thanks for your help!

Looking for someone nearby to re-plate the 3" diameter silver cover of an antique candy jar of my grandmother's. Plating is very thin, I think the cover itself is tin. Getting ridiculous pricing on the web. Thx.

Hi all, already browsed old Reddit posts but wanted to see if there were any updated experiences with silver smithing around here. I bought a pendant that I really like but unfortunately I believe the pendant clasp is silver plated and not real silver. I would like to get it replaced or maybe even plated as I really like this pendant. Any suggestions on affordable jewelry repair businesses for something like this?
The pendant is glass and the top part is “silver”, I don’t care for the design as long as it can be held up on a chain. It started turning orange (you can kind of see it on the bottom and top park of the clasp) which sucks because my skin has started feeling more irritated and I’m assuming it was from the metal under the plating. Also willing to travel if needed!

Hi all, I was recently wondering if there were any tips and suggestions from how to get from Albany (centre square area) to Clifton park, the shops at village plaza. My car is currently in the shop for repairs that would take a few days and wanted to know if anyone had alternatives. I’m aware of ride shares but know the prices can get up there. Thanks!

Any fitness personal trainers you’d recommend in the area? Specifically female trainers?

It’s the right hand west bound lane. I was going the opposite way so I couldn’t tell where it started but it ended past new karner rd intersection. Some kind of labor day event?

She is 10yrs old, needs a 24 or 26" bike.
I want a place that will put her on the right bike for her size NOW - not her size in 6months. They must have her size in any bike they want to sell her for her to try - we can order better colours or a non-floor model or whatever.
We have tried a few bikes and depending on brand and model, she fits anything from 24" to adult XS, so we must try the exact model in her size.
So long as they can get the size right, I can come back later if we need to order the bike.
Everyone always buys or sells us stuff for a bigger kid or an older kid. Which just means she gets disappointed when she is too small for the cool new thing she was so excited for.
Eta: we are east of the hudson, id rather not go very far west.
