I love the Haunted Mansion, and I like NMBC, but the movie and the ride are about Christmas, not Halloween. The movie starts with Halloween being over already. I think that the classic Haunted Mansion is much more themed for Halloween, and it is robbed of its moment in the spotlight because of the 6 month long transformation into NMBC. Does anyone else feel like this is a strange or silly choice by Disney or is everyone happy having this change last so long?

He was walking towards pirates with significant other and dog in stroller. He was very kind and was saying hi and letting pictures happen, but I heard him say “great to meet you but I’m just here with my family so thank you”. Made me feel sad that some famous people just want to enjoy the parks like everyone else but can’t unless they plaid squad up or disguise.

It's so humid and hot that the Nuttles are still sitting, not setting, not getting packed. Shouldn't that room be CRT? we've checked back twice and both times have been told come back in another hour 😔

felt nostalgic last night and watched a vhs of our trip to disneyland in 91.

(side note: shout out to the uncles who recorded EVERYTHING. kids these days will only have 10 second clips that may or may not live on a cloud and never get to have the type of memories we got to have recorded!)

saw us on these boats and assumed it was story book land. but the amount of people in the boat, and there being a steering wheel, threw me off. so i went down a rabbit hole… and realized it was a ride I never knew/remember existed! super fun for me to learn about it. and subsequently realize that part of the dock (that I’ve never even been to!) still exists!

also here’s the question… we were in an area that looked like toon town… but it obviously wasn’t because it wasn’t open yet. there were lots of gadget characters around. and they had the little jail with the stretchy bars. and mini furniture. and it looked totally like toon town. where was that??

also also… i know we always talk about the “kinetic energy” of tomorrowland- but it was wild to see it in action on my own tape! people mover, sky buckets, cars, boats, monorail, subs… all in one panning of the camera. wild!

I'm guessing due to the storm Pudge is starving

Six months ago, I started a big project to redo the interior of my pet snake's enclosure to my favorite ride! This was a huge undertaking and I had to learn some new skills to put this together but the result was so worth it. By far the hardest part about doing this was figuring out which colors to paint everything since things are lit differently depending on where you are inside the temple, but after watching enough ride POVs, I had a general idea. I will post an update when I finish the exterior!

PS: I know the snakes on the bridge are part of the archways on the actual ride, it was just easier to paint them if they could each be handled separately.

Coco is one of my favorite movies and felt like I needed to have it. I’m not big on Disney merch except ears. I made the trek from L.A during a 3 day weekend. It was a madhouse at the parks. Got the cup and left. No magic key discount. No music, it just spins and lights up. Has anyone ever done this for merch? I almost second guessed myself on the way for doing this lol.

I saw an older archived post I couldn’t reply to, so thought I’d start a new post in case anyone else runs into this.

Situation: bubble blower blows air and dribbles fluid out, not forming bubbles.

Note: this fix is not for the faint of heart, but the point of failure is shown in the second image - you need to reconnect that metal shaft to the tube on the left. This rotates, enabling film to be draped over the holes, so the air can push out bubbles.

Nearly everything in this machine is structurally tied to something else, so you need to tear down almost the entire machine. He’s my rough recollection of the order, omitting the stuff I actually didn’t need to tear down:

To start, you’ll need a precision screwdriver with a narrow shaft. I had to use a cheap set because my expensive bits wouldn’t fit.

1. The yellow bracket at the top of the handle is first.
   
2. That enables you to unscrew and remove the handle.
   
3. Then you can unscrew and remove the barrel.
   
4. Next (I advise) you remove the yellow cone.
   
5. Then remove the orange/blue “spigot”. You’ll need to do this to reach one of the “dome” screws.
   
6. Remove the transparent dome. The green or red gear might fall out. This is fine.
   
7. With the dome removed, you can remove the red ribbon, which pinches the blue shaft together.
   
8. Now you can unscrew and open the blue shaft.
   
9. Reconnect the tube to the metal shaft.
   
10. Turn on the machine to make sure the tube and the shaft are rotating.

You can connect the bubble solution and test.

Put it all back together! Congratulations on being an ultraparent

Last week was so chill. Not a big crowd. Didn’t need fast pass. Easy to get on rides. Loved it!

I know I’m super late and everyone and their mother has already made their dream scenarios but here’s mine for New New New Tomorrowland. I’ll be staring from what’s realistic to more blue sky ideas I have.

1. The Peoplemover- You want it back, I want it back, your mother wants it back, we all do. So just do it!
   
2. The Rocket Jets- Re-theme the Astro Orbiter back to the OG jets to match the retro futurism.
   
3. New Carousel of Progress- Since Disney World is getting an updated version, why can’t California? Plus they really need to do something with the building, it’s just sitting there wasting space.
   
4. Starcade- Reopen the arcade even if it not as big as the original (due to Space Mountain line) but still use the space you have.
   
5. Magic Eye Theatre- Another building not being used. Start off with a “Soft Reopening”, let me explain. Bring back both Captain EO & Honey, I Shrunk the Audience as a way to tell guests the theatre is open again. Maybe first half the year is one show and the second half is the other. Which leading to my blue sky ideas.

6. Fantastic Four 4D Show- Use Magic Eye for this new show. They had the character meet & greet to promote First Steps movie and they fit in with the retro futurism theming.
   
7. The Skyway- Since guests have been demanding Peoplemover for years, what hasn’t anyone done the same for the Skyway? Much like the Peoplemover it gave Disneyland that retro charm. And since the park is bigger now than then, they extend the ride to end in ToonTown instead of Fantasyland. They can also update the ride system using DisneyWorld Skyliner as a blueprint.
   
8. Innoventions/ New Starcade- If Carousel of Progress don’t return then use the building as giant arcade. But not only an arcade but use it to promote new/current video games like Star Wars & Marvel. Have gaming setups for games Marvel Rivals & Marvel Tokon or UMVC3; maybe have tournaments there to live stream on twitch? Idk just my fgc head thinking out loud.
   
9. Tron Lightcycle Coaster- This is the biggest stretch that probably won’t happen but hey I could dream. Tho in order to do this they would have to demolish innoventions building and both Autopia and Nemo Submarines. Again I doubt that would happen but remember, DisneyWorld got rid of their version of Rivers of America to build that new Cars ride; so what’s stopping them doing the same? Tho I don’t think since Disneyland is the OG and wouldn’t let one of their day one attractions go like that. Still I would like to see a Tron ride at Disneyland or DCA.
   Well those are my ideas for New New New Tomorrowland.

Yes, electric cars are a possibility, and they will need to close the ride by February 2027 to begin conversion. But what if they just close Autopia instead, and put a new attraction in its place? The northern section of Autopia frees up room for a future Fantasyland expansion, as well. This is probably why concept art wasn't shown at D23. I sense a lot of fan favorite attractions are going away, with Autopia being one of them.
