Considering DVC as International Guests
We’re considering buying 150 DVC points direct from Disney at the Polynesian, and we want to make sure we’ve planned out for all our costs. We’re planning one trip a year, or one larger trip every 2 years.
Here’s the most breakdown we’ve been working off of, would love any feedback.
We’re assuming no incentives and the most conservative interest rates we qualify for, just to be safe. All prices in USD also!
ETA: We are not financing through Disney, we have an existing LOC at 7% interest!
Up Front Costs:
- 50% downpayment: $18,225
- Closing costs: $1,800 - might be a high estimate but we’d rather overestimate
Yearly Costs, based on the first year:
- Annual Dues: $1,264.50 (assuming this will go up 6% every year)
- Flights to Disney World: $1,440 (variable, but planned around when we typically take an annual trip)
- Yearly repayment: $4,000 (based on what we can put towards this every month)
- Sorcerer’s Pass: $1,170 (we assumed 6% tax in Florida, but unsure)
Are there any other costs we haven’t accounted for other than in park spending?
Some other context: We’ve considered Riviera, but my partner really likes the Poly and I don't love the potential resale restrictions on Riviera. We also considered resale, but the math doesn't check out for us without being able to get the annual pass so that's no longer an option.
