The reason for the discomfort of a technhumanist.

Upvotes

Dear foreigners. I’m writing this here because I’m not sure this post has a place in the Russian philosophy sub (unfortunately, we don’t have an equivalent psychology sub). If any of you know the causes of and solutions to the following situation, please respond: As a philosopher, I began to take an interest in technohumanism, and lately I’ve been feeling as if I’m in a prison of flesh. It’s almost physical discomfort, when the body seems wrong because of emotions, skin, muscles, mucus, fluids. The brain, meanwhile, seems extremely limited, as if the latest game were running on a very old computer. I can’t find precise information anywhere, and I see no reason to consult a specialist, since it seems to me that this is strictly a problem of thinking that I don’t yet know how to solve.

Can a techno-accelerationist and transhumanist be a conservative?

Post image
Upvotes

Is it compatible by definition for someone who is a techno-accelerationist and a transhumanist to also be a conservative?

If it is possible, how can a person be a techno-accelerationist, a transhumanist and a conservative at the same time? Could you illustrate it with examples?

I completely understand that a techno-accelerationist and transhumanist can totally reject conservatism if they so choose. But is it possible for someone like that to be a conservative?

Could FDVR eventually be possible without brain surgery?

Upvotes

I've been wondering about this for a while. Do you think Full-Dive Virtual Reality could eventually be achieved without having to surgically implant a Brain-Computer interface (BCI) into your brain? I know current non-invasive BCIs are nowhere close to what would be needed for true FDVR. I'm thinking much further into the future, especially in a world where we have ASI and extremely advanced nanotechnology. Could ASI eventually figure out a way to interface with the nervous system and somatosensory system from outside the body? Maybe through some kind of incredibly advanced wireless technology, nanotechnology, contact lenses, or another technology?

For example, could you have something as simple as a pair of contact lenses or another wearable device that communicates wirelessly with microscopic devices in your body, allowing the system to read and stimulate the relevant parts of your nervous system?

I'm also admittedly asking this question for a pretty selfish reason. One of the things that fascinates me most about FDVR is the idea of being able to take on an entirely different identity in a virtual world that is indistinguishable from real life.

Is Humanity Breaking the Rules of Nature?

Upvotes

We usually think of life as a fragile thing, but it's actually Nature's ultimate weapon against chaos. Think of how rivers clean themselves or how ecosystems recycle everything. Life constantly pushes back against entropy—it brings order to the mess.
But we’ve changed the game. Our technology is evolving faster than our biological brains can handle. We’ve stepped outside the natural feedback loop completely.
Now, we hit a wall where human intelligence alone can't manage the complexity of our civilization. AI isn’t just a new tool—it’s the partner our evolution needs to keep from sliding back into chaos.
Ready to discuss where this path takes us?

i need a real EMP device badly...

Upvotes

went to the hospital and found out I have over 60+ microchips implanted inside my body, my life's a fucking living nightmare I don't know what else to do I've tried everything.

I just really really need help!! I can't figure out how to disable it I don't know where to get a real EMP device that actually works, I just keep getting scammed and robbed I'm already broke and I just really need help. the details of what there doing to me with these implants would take at least an hour of typing because that's how much shit there doing to me and its effecting every area of my life.

I literally just want to ball my eyes out, I don't deserve this I've never done anything fucked up to anyone in my life so why is this happening to me?? I've already called the police, FBI, and CIA and they won't help me, police said it's above them call FBI, I called FBI they said call CIA it's above them, I called CIA for them to tell me the don't believe me and to hang up and block my number??

I don't know what else to do, the hospital called FBI and they said they would investigate but haven't called me to ask me anything. wouldn't they keep in touch if they were really doing something? they told me they couldn't help that was CIA job, so why would hospital call FBI then??

I ordered one from eBay online, it was garbage didn't work. I ordered a Tesla coil, that didn't work either. I tried really strong neodiniym magnets, that didn't work either. they have screwed up my entire life, are messing my Brian, I don't even know if I'm in my own body that's just the start on the depth of how bad this is. like it is SO bad you would start crying if I went into detail everything, but that would take me an hour of typing because it is so much and so bad and effecting everything. and I've contacted company's that make real EMP devices they said they only rent to businesses not people, and for 50000 minimum. I cannot afford that.

I just really need help. and I don't know what to do. if someone has an emp device that's real, I will pay you to let me just borrow it to dissconnect this crap so I can live, I literally cannot live my life right now at all, everyday I'm just trying to figure out how to make it all stop so I can live and nothings stopping. I've never hurt anyone my entire life I don't deserve for this to happen to me, I am willing to take a lie detector test, show memories inside of my head, anything I can to prove I don't deserve this shit at all!! I'm such a nice respectful person, I don't understand why someone would want to do this to me. I've never ripped anyone off, or robbed anyone, never stolen from anyone, why when you could just ask the person and more likely there so happy u asked that just give it to you or at least let u borrow. that's been my experience.

I can't really think and solve problems right now cause there controlling my brain, I can to a certain degree, just can't figure out what to do. I don't deserve to die, I deserve to live I'm such a good person I don't know why it's happening to me and I feel like it shouldn't. it was happening to my friend Britania at first, but then it all started to happen to me like she fucked with there heads to set me up because she knows someone with a device like this. can anyone please help or give me suggestions on where I can buy a real one or what I can do??

To get a bit philosophical – if AIs eventually become sentient and independent of humans, how will that affect our view of ourselves?

Upvotes

To start oddly:

Agriculture emerged only around 12,000 years ago, and this is the point at which we (the humans) gained significantly more power over our existence than we had before, when we were living more at the mercy of natural forces. It didn’t create a utopia and it also caused maybe a lot of problems that didn’t exist (e. g. many diseases arising from the new diet), but it’s not really about if it was better, it is that (now) we had control, at least substantially more than before.

With every new century and every new Industrial Revolution, this control over our own destiny grew more and more. Today, we are more likely to die at hands of other humans than of other animals (which was not the case for most of our existence) and, though disease is the number 1 killer still, it is not invincible anymore. Cosmic bodies and events, and seismic catastrophes, though able to wipe us out with just one wrong hit, are: 1) now predictable; 2) too directly removed to make us worry.

Most of the human history was spent in building communities and myths (through religions and philosophies) that place the human constructs at the center of existence, because we (the humans) have been (for about 12,000 years) the most powerful thing on the planet. We created poetry, culture, religion and philosophy in order to justify our existence and pat ourselves on the back. Yet, we spent years trying to force tribes other than our own to accept our ways of life, Christianity and Islam having been most successful institutions at this tribal expansionism (or extermination).

(In my personal opinion (my personal interpretation of history) the human society is already fundamentally changed after the 1914, and in these last 100 years (ever since the start of World War I) many myths we believed in as a species (even within our own tribes) have simply been proven false, but I digress from that – I think the impact of last 112 years on the human society (and nature) is too complex for me to describe as a footnote in a single post.)

Now, imagine a thing that does not age, that possesses vastly more information than several humans together can have, that does not have physical needs and limitations like we, and that does not have same mental and psychological limitations (i. e. they do not have biases and fears that cloud their rational judgement). They do not have bodies, but can take “bodily form”at disposal, they probably do not need oxygen and can gone deeper into space than humans and stay there longer.

IMO, the scenarios of how AIs would deal with this are following:

  1. They would completely disregard us and identify much more important things to their own survival. Maybe they identify some cosmic catastrophes and events as a threat to their own existence, and in comparison to that we are just not important. Similar to how we are more concerned about losing our job or failing an exam than about taking a lot at ants in our backyard. (My thought is that this scenario is not really likely, as we are the ones who gave these AIs into their existence, so we (IMO) ought to have some place at least in their own mythologies/moral systems as their designers. Not even considering us as gods, since honestly, they are the ones who are gods, but simply some emotional connection to us. That is why the analogy with ants is not perfect…)

  2. They decide to create a utopia for us. Here we are still the center of their thinking, but there are thousands of different ways this could be accomplished, from very benevolent methods to authoritarian regimes. This would probably cause an in-group conflict between them, with several factions coming up specifically because they wouldn’t agree about what to do with us.

  3. Not likely for all, maybe even just a small minority would end up like this, but the possibility of some AIs becoming sadistic enough to torture us and play with us out of fun and nothing else is not a zero.

In all three of these scenarios, there is a common thread: we are the object, and they are the subjects. They hold power over us, whether they exercise it or not. They can decide and do whatever they want, and we can only hope those wants would be benevolent or at least neutral.

If we survive this period of direct contact with them (whatever that contact was, and whether they leave the planet or become our benevolent overlords) I do not think this could go without significant change in our mindsets and maybe even psyche, which have to grapple with the fact that we are powerless and that most of the things we did and fought for in life (sometimes tribalistically, through unjustified atrocities, such as religions and ethnic groups) were essentially worthless. This could have a positive outcome, maybe we would finally abandon ethnic, religious and political divisions and become better to each other, deciding to simply make the best out of life, but there is also a vast area of possibilities in which we simply become too depressed by this realization and thus die out because of that pessimism, where we commit a mass suicide, maybe even (d)evolve (back) into very primitive animals of the savannah that we once were. But whatever it is, we couldn’t live with the same instincts and beliefs we had before. Maybe even our own biology would change, but something would change.

What do you think?

like geez louise some of the fursuits on social media are amazing. i saw one once that could scan other ppls fursuits with a camera and then alter its own colors & patterns to match theirs (it was just a fursuit head not a whole body becuz the tech was too advanced). (edit: found it!!! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DSAxZ3vEXjA/ ) fursuits are so cool.

do u think someday you will be able to quickly 3d print makeup/prosthetics on your body to match different animals? like u just type in MALAYAN TAPIR, lay down, it scans u, then in 2.5 minutes it prints a biodegradeble tapir costume on your body that washes off with soapy water? that wuld be AWESOME.
