Wiring, Light control module gone.

This happened again after added -

Red thing is - Chilli powder, crushed camphor in that cloth

Repellent spray.

My only option is to put the Rat Powder here.

Please help me choose my next ride!

I have been riding motorcycles for quite some time. My first bike was a Suzuki Max 100, followed by a Honda Unicorn, and Iโ€™ve been riding my Honda Hornet 160R for the last eight years.

So, for better or worse, Iโ€™ve been spoiled by Japanese bikes when it comes to refinement, build quality and reliability. ๐Ÿ˜…

The Hornet was honestly love at first ride, and it has been a fantastic motorcycle for me. But Iโ€™ve been thinking about upgrading to a bigger motorcycle for quite some time now.

After quite a bit of research, Iโ€™ve narrowed it down to these two.
Few things that are important to me:

  1. Fit and finish โ€“ I want something that feels well-built and premium and will continue to feel that way years down the line.
  2. Engine refinement โ€“ Honda has really spoiled me here. Iโ€™m used to smooth, refined and relatively vibration-free engines, so this is something Iโ€™ll probably notice quite quickly.
  3. Reliability โ€“ This is a big one because the nearest service centre is at least 80 km from my home. Iโ€™d prefer something dependable that doesnโ€™t require frequent workshop visits.
4.Long-term durability โ€“ Older Royal Enfield motorcycles had quite a reputation for rusting. Iโ€™m not sure how the newer-generation REs hold up, particularly in our climate, so Iโ€™d love to hear from long-term owners.

Iโ€™m also 5โ€™6โ€, so feedback from shorter riders regarding ergonomics, seat height, weight and low-speed manoeuvrability would be really useful.
Iโ€™m open to wildcard suggestions too! (Honda CB350RS๐Ÿ˜‰) My research could be completely wrong, and I may have overlooked a motorcycle that suits my requirements better. So if you think thereโ€™s another bike I should seriously consider, please suggest it and tell me why.
P.S. I havenโ€™t test-ridden either bike yet. Thatโ€™s obviously the next step before making a decision, but Iโ€™d really like to hear from people who have actually owned or spent significant time with these motorcycles.

And if youโ€™ve made a similar transition from a Japanese motorcycle to either of these, Iโ€™d particularly love to hear how you found the change in refinement, build quality and overall ownership experience.
Note: Used ChatGPT for refinement .

Selling my 2024 Triumph Speed 400. Iโ€™m the first and only owner.

Bike details:

  • 2024 model
  • 6,294 km
  • Single owner
  • Zero accidents
  • Complete service history
  • Well maintained
  • Insurance valid until August 2027
  • Karnataka registered

A reason to consider the 2024 version:

This is the original 398cc Speed 400, with 40 PS and 37.5 Nm.

The current Speed 400 uses a smaller 349cc engine, with 37 PS and 32 Nm. In independent testing, the original 400cc version was also quicker from 0โ€“100 km/h (7.4 sec vs 8.1 sec).

So if you specifically want the original, more powerful Speed 400 rather than the newer 349cc version, this is a low-km example.

Price: โ‚น2,40,000

Slightly negotiable for a genuine buyer after inspection.

The bike can be inspected at a Triumph service centre or by your own mechanic. Service records and other documents are available for verification.

Photos/videos and additional details can be shared over DM.

#Modification โš™๏ธ Meteor 350 headlight upgrade?

Post image
Upvotes

I have purchased a second hand meteor 350 recently. Itโ€™s been a month and im really enjoying the bike. This was an upgrade from my previously owned bajaj avenger. I am enjoying all the aspects including the power and comfort.

Although i have noticed after a few long rides that the stock headlights are really mediocre in quality. They work just fine locally but are absolute headache on highways. The throw for both low and high beam is less.

I have gotten a few suggestions and am consideing HJG ironsight as an upgrade. I have also been suggested foglights but there have recently been a lot of issues w them in Mumbai with the traffic police.

I have a few questions I need help with.

1) Is upgrading headlight legal?
2) Is HJG ironsight a good option? My main usecase is local rides and occasional hoghway touring.
3) Does it have any short/long term effect on the battery of the bike?
4) Is foglight a better option despite the issues?
5) Is there anything else i should keep in mind during this change?

Is he just trying to persuade me to buy speed or is he actually right?

#Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ I built Full Tank to make group ride planning and regrouping easier

Upvotes

Anyone who has organized a group ride knows the difficult part isnโ€™t choosing the route. Itโ€™s keeping everyone together once the ride starts.

Before the ride, you often have to open Google Maps, check the distance to every stop, note the timings, type everything out, and post it in WhatsApp. During the ride, someone is late to the meetup point, someone stops for fuel, and a few riders arrive while others are still catching up. Then WhatsApp fills with โ€œWhere are you?โ€ messages.

Iโ€™m the maker of Full Tank, a browser tool built to make that part simpler. Create a ride with meetup points and stops, share one link in your group, and let riders check in when they reach each stopโ€”without installing an app or sharing continuous location.

Iโ€™m looking for a few ride organizers to try it on an upcoming ride and tell me whether it actually makes planning and regrouping easier.

Iโ€™ll share the link in the comments.

#Query โ“ Meteor Preload adjustment can void warranty??

Upvotes

I own an RE Meteor 350. Bought it in March. Went for my second service at 3100 kms (6 months done). When I asked them to set the suspension preload to what the manual recommends for Rider + Pillion settings they warned that this could void my warranty. Is that the case or is the service center trying to scam/scare me?

Has anyone had any similar experiences?

#Accessories ๐Ÿ”” My experience with 66BHP.com

Upvotes

I ordered a paddock stand and a set of bobbins from 66BHP . com on 23/08/2026. While buying the paddock stand, I came across their listing for bobbins and saw that my bike was listed as compatible, so I went ahead and placed the order.

On the same day, I realised that my 2022 BMW G 310 R doesnโ€™t actually have any mounting points for spool bobbins. And that's where the horror began.

I tried reaching out to the team to cancel the order before it was dispatched, mainly to avoid the whole situation of them shipping the product and then me having to place a return.

After continuously trying to get in touch, I was met with a full voicemail inbox and a WhatsApp bot that simply doesn't work.

I kept trying through Instagram, WhatsApp and calls, but got nowhere. Finally, someone replied to me on Instagram and took my contact number. At that point, I thought someone might actually get in touch.

Nope.

Finally, on 31/08, I got a response on WhatsApp saying that I could receive the order and return the bobbins, and that I would be compensated for the courier charges I incurred.

The order finally arrived on 08/09. And that's when I was told that I would have to pay:

  • 4% refund charges
  • Courier charges to send the bobbins back
  • The shipping charges they paid to have the bobbins shipped to me along with the paddock stand that Iโ€™m keeping

At this point, I'm honestly just relieved that it's a set of โ‚น999 8mm aluminium bobbins and not something actually expensive.

The conclusion for me is pretty simple: stick to your local vendors or platforms with better customer support, and don't get wooed by Instagram reels.

And yeah, double-check the requirements before ordering anything online. I know it's partly on me for not knowing my ride well enough, but I genuinely tried my best to catch the mistake before the product was dispatched and avoid creating a return for something I couldn't use.

This isn't even about the โ‚น999 I paid for the bobbins, which I'll probably now use to hang clothes or something. ๐Ÿ˜‚

It's about the lack of customer service and, more importantly, the overall brand experience.

Just sharing this so someone else doesn't make the same mistake I did.

#Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Claiming insurance for my bike for the first time recently โ€“ any precautions to take?

Upvotes

Had an accident a while ago and the bike got damaged quite significantly. It is my first time filing an insurance claim, so I am not really sure about the claim process.

I have notified the insurer of this but am not sure about the next steps. Should I first get the bike fixed or is there an inspection required before the repairs can begin?

Are there any common precautions that I should take while filing the claim? It would be really bad to overlook something minor and end up footing the bill for part of the repairs.

Would appreciate any insights from those who have filed a claim for bike insurance earlier.

#Opinion ๐Ÿ’ญ Should I sell my 8 year old Hornet 160R?

Thumbnail
gallery
Upvotes

My Hornet 160R was bought in November 2018 and has done around 63,000 km. I also do Rapido part time.

I've already spent around โ‚น14k on repairs in the last 2 months, mostly for body work. Now more issues are coming up like carburetor, rear tyre, disc plate, cone kit etc. The carburetor itself may cost another โ‚น6 7k.

I'm honestly getting tired of spending on it again and again, especially when it keeps spending time in the garage and I lose out on riding days.

I'm thinking of selling it and getting a 125cc scooter instead. What would you guys do in my situation?
