ALL Duke 390, 790 ot triumph street tripple r

Hey everyone. I'm about to buy my first bike. When I was younger I raced motocross for 5 years (YZ125) a few months back a friend got a Duke 200 and let me ride it. It was fun but it just wasn't enough for me. Should I buy a 26 390? Or just go straight to a 790 and maybe run it in rain mode for a few weeks until I feel comfortable? Also looking at a 2021 triumph street tripple r.

I'm 5'1-5'2 150lbs. When I sat on the Duke 390 the balls of the front of my feet were on the ground. On the triumph I was almost flat footing.

I am mostly doing city commuting. But occasionally using the highway to get across town.

Thanks in advance everyone 😊

ALL New 1290 Super Duke R EVO or used 1390 Super Duke R EVO?

Upvotes

Hello guys,

I am currently sitting between two chairs. I am trying to decide to get a new 1290 Super Duke R EVO, which is one of the last new 1290 in the country, or get used 1390 Evo for around the same price but with approximately 15.000km already on it. The new 1290 would come with 4 years of warranty, the used one would have the remaining factory warranty (1 year).

Is the 1390 that much better to get the used one or should I just get the new 1290? It would be a 2023 model year.

I already tested the 1290 which was amazing, but now saw the offer for the 1390.

ALL Free M10x1.5 PUIG Swingarm Spools for KTM bikes

Post image
Upvotes

Hi all,

I have a set of unused orange swingarm spools / bobbins from PUIG in the M10 x 1.5 size. Pretty sure this fits the 3rd gen 790, 890 and many other newer generation KTM bikes, however most other bike manufacturers use a 1.25mm thread pitch. KTM just being KTM lol.

Bought these by accident, as my SDGT has a single sided swing arm, and these obviously won't work for me. I've offered them up in random threads as it came up, but everyone who has been interested happened to be outside the US so shipping cost wouldn't make sense.

I'm offering these up for FREE + cost of shipping for anyone in CONUS (most likely less than $10, depends where you live and if you want USPS or UPS or dont care). I have to ship out a couple other things later this week, so it wont be an issue for me to drop this package off too.

PM me if youre interested, and just to discourage people from trying to snag them to resell or something, send a pic of your bike and what you love (or hate) most about it so I know you're a real person haha. First come first serve as long as you follow my request.

Mods, please delete this if its not allowed, as I know this isnt a sales forum. I just figured this was the most straightforward way to get rid of these and find someone that needs them.

Thanks!

ASKKTM 890 problems

Upvotes

I guys im viola

I'm about to buy a 2022 Duke 890. It has low km, but it's still a used bike. What specific things should I pay attention to when I go inspect it?
I've already run a background/title check and everything is clean. It has very few km, and the tires and setup look like they belonged to a 60-year-old who only used it for coffee runs.😂
Any tips or known issues I should check for?

PROBLEM Idling problem on Ktm 690 enduro r

Upvotes

Hi guys.

Just hoping you could give me a little advice. Im having an issue on my 2013 ktm 690 enduro r at the moment where the idling is not instantly coming down after I touch the accelerator.

When I rev the bike to 4k rpm it lingers there for about 1 or two seconds and then drops back down to about 1.5k rpm. I've tried googling and researching for a few hours but cant seem to find anything and its proving difficult to ride when the revs are not instantly dropping back down.

I've cleaned the throttle housing where the accelerator cables attach to the grip and it doesn't seem to be binding or sticking. Id appreciate any advice if you could offer it 🙏🏻

PROBLEM Tak tak sound from ktm adv 350 rear end

Upvotes

Hi ktm adv people, recently bought ktm 350 adv having two issues.

  1. A single tak sound from the front end of the bike while going on even small potholes and humps. Got into sc they tightened the cone set but still it is there.

  2. A continuous tak tak sound comming from rear end when going on rough patches of the road. Asked SC guy told that its due to chain slapping against chain slider. Dont know whether is genuine or not

Please help i am new to sc replies 🙏

PROBLEM Any advice will help!

Hi everyone!
Today I went out for a more spirited ride on some twisty roads, and after around 25 km I noticed that coolant was being sprayed out through the overflow hose.
I stopped in a parking area and, after a few seconds, I noticed the temperature starting to rise until the engine eventually shut itself off.
I slowly made my way back home. On the way back, the temperature stayed at 4 bars, but the yellow engine warning light came on. When I got home and was opening the gate, the temperature started rising again, even though the cooling fan was working.
I started checking the cooling system:
I removed the water pump cover and inspected the water pump;
I didn’t notice any play in the pump, metal particles, or anything else suspicious;
I removed the thermostat and tested it in boiling/hot water, and it did open;
I was only able to drain around 800 ml of coolant from the system;
I didn’t notice any dirt, oil, or contamination in the expansion tank;
there is no white smoke from the exhaust;
the engine starts, runs and sounds completely normal.
I also replaced the radiator cap with a brand-new one.
Now that the bike has completely cooled down, I checked the expansion tank and there is no coolant in it at all.
The bike has 35,000 km. At 30,000 km I had the valve clearances checked, and everything was within specification, so no adjustment was necessary. I also had the oil changed at the same time, and everything was perfect.
It’s a KTM 890 Duke, 2022 model, manufactured in 2024.
At this point I’m not sure where else to look. I’m considering replacing the thermostat as a precaution, even though it appears to open when tested.
What do you guys think? Could this be the thermostat, air trapped in the cooling system, a circulation problem, or could the water pump have an issue that isn’t visible during a visual inspection?
And of course, I’m really hoping it’s not the head gasket. I don’t have any obvious symptoms of a blown head gasket at the moment.
If anyone has experienced something similar on an 890, I would really appreciate any ideas or advice.
Thanks!

PROBLEM Duke 250 suddenly losing all power/acceleration — 2 months old, 1,300 km

Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I have a KTM Duke 250, around 2 months old, with only 1,300 km on the odometer. The first service was done 2 weeks ago.
Today while riding, I was cruising at a constant speed around **3–4k RPM (3rd gear).**When I pulled the throttle a bit to accelerate, the bike suddenly lost almost all power. The engine was still running, but there was basically no acceleration/power even after opening the throttle.
I stopped the bike, waited around 15 minutes, and it started working normally again. However, the exact same issue happened twice again shortly afterward.
A few additional details:
I’m using E20 fuel.
I’ve been using the fuel cleaner recommended by the showroom.
HP Prolube engine oil was used during the first service.
There were no obvious warning signs beforehand, and the bike otherwise feels completely normal.
Has anyone experienced something similar with the Duke 250? What could be causing this — fuel pump/fuel delivery, ride-by-wire/throttle sensor, ECU, electrical connection, fuel quality, or something else?
I’m planning to take it to the KTM service centre, but I’d like to know what I should specifically ask them to check.
Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated.

Had to drop by the office over the weekend, so I went on a quick two-hour ride. It’s been 4 years with my 790 Duke, but it still puts a smile on my face every single time. My second KTM after the 390, and I honestly don't see myself switching to another bike anytime soon.

PROBLEM New 990 Duke R not starting anymore in 1st gear

Upvotes

Got my 990 Duke R 2026 two weeks ago, all was just great, but now suddenly it is mostly not starting anymore in 1st gear, but only with N. Sometimes no noises, sometimes I hear electric noises. Starting in N, then turning off, then 1st gear, then directly starting again sometimes works. I know there is this thingy button under the clutch, it looks good, but I have no idea about the cabel. Cleaned it, also the sensor at the side stand, I think. Any ideas before I go to the dealer?
