Hairloss I think it's starting

Hello

I've always had a V-shaped hairline, ever since I was a child, and since my father went bald at 26, I concluded that it would eventually happen to me.

I finally made it past 26 without any problems, but now at 32 I feel like it's starting to thin; I have quite a few isolated hairs at the temples, and the V-shaped bump seems more delicate.

Fortunately, I've already shaved my head several times, for fun, so I'm ready, and 32 years plus the little time I have left is already a pretty good final score 😊

Have you ever considered doing a Transformation of the Year contest?

Upvotes

I see sooooo many guys have ridiculous glow ups and I would love to see the best of the best in an annual competition. Maybe even different categories? Of course I’m just the idea person, this may be a lot of effort to have before/after photos shown side by side for a vote.

I'm not gonna act like I wanna do it. I really dont, I dread it. I turned 19 only a month ago. And I've noticed it’s become more and more apparent. I've been on minoxidil for 13 months. Twice everyday, 12 hours. I'm not a fan of the bald and beard look. But if I have to do it. I gotta do it, yknow.

However! I cannot grow a beard. So going bald and having pubic hair on my face isnt ideal. I need some advice, plunge it or hop on fin or dut.

How-to Question How do I tell someone that they should consider shaving their head?

Upvotes

My friend and former hookup buddy is very handsome but definitely is balding severely. I think he'd be much more attractive if he accepted it and went for the full head shave. But I don't know how to bring this up to him because it's probably a sensitive subject and I'm not his girlfriend so I'm a little bit questioning if it's my place. Should I bring it up? Is there a way to talk to him about it without it being awkward or coming off as really mean and hurtful?

Bald Picture My first post. Sun protection.

I’m a lurker. About to pull the trigger. I already feel self conscious. So I may as well ask a question to delay it a little longer.
What do yall plan to do to protect from sun cancer? Melanoma! I know nothing another than horror stories. Small spot noticed. Stage 4. Spreads. Rip 🪦
Yall do sunscreen? Hats? Some folks must be closer to the equator than Kansas City.
The sub is the best. I appreciate you all being so vulnerable.

Thanks in advance.

How-to Question Tips for shaving.

Upvotes

I started shaving once a week, later twice a week.

Now I shave every other day.

I shave at the mirror and finish at the shower. Feeling my hair with my fingers and shaving until everyting is smooth.

I put some Vaseline after. It seals all the microcuts, hydrate my scalp and let me looking shiny.

What are your tips?

Best electronic shaver

Upvotes

Need some advice on finding a new electric head shaver. Just had my first kid and the ability to shave my head in the shower has decreased dramatically haha. I have tried the freebird shaver in the past and didn’t love it. What are yal using for upkeep in between being able to razor it?

Hairloss Should I keep shaving it or can I grow it out?

I have been on minoxidil and finasteride for around 6 months. The density has made a lot of progress and the hairline has had slow but steady progress.

Do you think it’s made enough progress to start growing it out again? I usually keep it almost to the skin, but I’ve been lazy the last few weeks and noticed it had made progress.

Thoughts? Feelings? Concerns?

Should I shave my head and restart?

Upvotes

Hi, all! For context, I’m a guy and just entering my final year of high school. I have long, probably 2B hair, and I am frankly quite vain about it (like sinful levels of vain). In fact, I’m very insecure about my body, but rarely so when it comes to my hair.

Some concerns I have about my hair are the health of my scalp and hair. My scalp feels so dry and itchy all the time, while my hair is always frizzy (which I’m worried means it’s damaged.) This is all likely because, as I’ve recently come to learn, I should not be wetting it and using shampoo every time I shower (on top of not brushing it! Woops!) Whatever, what’s done is done though, and I’ve already set up a bit of a game plan for future hair routines where I will be washing my hair every three days (twice with shampoo, once with conditioner, brushing to my scalp, leave-in conditioner for frizz, and drying with microfibre cloth and diffuser, and sleeping with silk bonnet.)

Ultimately though, my question is should I shave my head all the way bald once my final high school year ends? I’m worried I’ll be stuck with the same hair issues regardless of what changes I implement, and I’ve heard a weirdly satisfying story about someone who went totally bald and got to exfoliate all the dry skin off their head. I don’t know. I’m writing this randomly in the middle of night with no sleep, and I just need some advice! Thank you! Also, I would begin growing it back out immediately afterwards!

Thoughts? Not sure if I'm at a good length, or if I need to go shorter. I'm really not sure what to do with my hair, but I hate how high up on my head my hairline is. I think it makes me look old lol (21).

Deleted my original post because of the comments about my teeth, I know they need lots of work don’t worry but just need to take everything one step at a time, its battle to try overcome my pure self hatred I had for myself. I appreciate the love and will get them seen to. It’s all love ā¤ļø

I've always known I would join your ranks one day. Has that time come, or is there still time? Final 2 photos are the prime evidence to my query.

How to cope with possibly going bald when you know you look significantly worse bald?

Upvotes

This, I tried bald, I tried it just once because I wanted to see how I’d look and get an idea. I thought screw it, it’s summer and it’s hot. It’ll regrow in 3-4 months. Not end of world.

Turns out, I have a horrible head shape. I posted on here back in July showing it off, and about 30% of the comments flamed me. Yikes.

If you’re thinking of an old post on here of some dude that looked awful bald and shouldn’t be bald, it’s probably of me.

The good news is, I have very full hair and have suffered virtually no balding in the last 10 years. I am 25. I have a bit of a recessed hairline, but I’ve had it all my life. In my 10 years of looking at my hairline, it hasn’t moved back. I also haven’t lost anything on the crown. (If I have, it’s very minimal)

I wish I looked at least OK with a smooth bald shave, but I don’t. I just look flat out awful. I don’t think it’s something I’ll have to worry about anytime soon, but even in 10-20 years, it could be possible it’s my fate.

I’ve looked into skull reconstruction, and it’s something I’m strongly considering if it looks like the Norwood reaper is coming hard for me.

So all in all, how does one cope with the possibility of being bald in the future , if they already know they will look bad?

I love my hair and I'm so scared to shave it all off. Especially because I think I have a small head.

Ive been rocking the hat look mostly when out in public, giving the illusion of hair lol. But its receding at an alarming pace and I think it's only a matter of time.

Do I still have time? Or am I cooked?

Never done anything with my hair, and it's starting to disappear. What does the council say? Is it time?

Edit: heading to bed, but will heed the councils decision tomorrow after work, if the council has decided.

Been shaving my head for about 5 years now. Lots of trial and error, nicks, uneven patches, and honestly some confidence struggles along the way.

Finally feeling good enough about how it looks to post here.

Mainly looking for style tips, what works well outfit-wise for a shaved head look, what to avoid.

Open to all your suggestions!
