I don’t know how to handle my husband’s venting

Upvotes

We have a new baby (and a five year old) and he just went back to work so obviously things are stressful. He’s always been a verbal processor. His whole family is like that. Basically have a feeling—any feeling—and it comes straight out the mouth, no filter. My family is much more, let’s keep all our emotions locked inside. You’d think after 7 years of marriage I’d be used to it, but I’m not.

He’ll say stuff like “our life sucks.” “I don’t know how we’re going to survive this.” “Everything is awful.” And then I immediately cry and scramble to try to make things better for him so he doesn’t feel that way. And then he gets confused as to why I’m taking everything so seriously. He says things are fine and he doesn’t mean it, he’s just venting because that’s how he is and it makes him feel better.

I understand this conceptually but I can’t seem to control my reaction. Is there a way I can just take this less seriously? Or Is it reasonable for me to ask him not to vent even though that’s how he feels better?

Unhappy that I can't be a SAHM.

Upvotes

Genuinely upsetting that we need the income and I can't provide the care and consistency for my baby I want to.

We would afford it if my partner could work more, but as he has a chronic illness and is self employed, there's no stability in what he brings home.

I work 3 days in an easy and stable job. I should feel greatful, but the money isnt great, and its incredibly boring. All I can think is how much I'd rather be home

I guess I'm just mourning the life I know I can't have. Does anyone else relate?

Figured out a way to keep Gaming with my 5 month old!

Upvotes

My husband and I love to game together, but it was difficult with baby of course!

So we moved my computer into our room and hooked it up to the TV and I use a Bluetooth controller to play!

Of course we can't (and won't) do this all the time, but we have pillows set up so baby doesn't get to see the screen :)

Just wanted to share cause it made me happy to be able to game again!

Edit to add: currently dealing with separation anxiety in my 5 month old due to having surgery last week, otherwise I'd just game during his naps. But he senses when we leave and wakes and screams

Husband pushed the baby. Should I call mother in law?

Upvotes

Baby woke up in bed with us this morning at 7. I asked my husband to take him downstairs and hand him to my mom who's living with us and help out with the baby in the morning. I normally do this task myself, but today I want to sleep in and since it's was weekend yesterday and today's holiday (no work for him), I thought it's okay to ask. Husband said no, he didn't want to. I was still lazy so I continued to stay in bed while the baby became restless and started moving around and climbing us. Husband pushed the baby off him many times, not gentle, and the last couple times he was kind of rough. The bed is soft and the baby didn't cry but it still felt wrong. Husband still didn't get up. I said he's your son too. Husband just pushed the baby to me and said in angry voice to "take your son yourself", covered his head with blanket and went back to sleep. I told him if there's bruises I will call police. And when he wakes up, we will call his mother together. I took care of the baby in the end. No bruises.

Am I overreacting? Should I still call mother in law? Or should I apologize?

More info:

We're from cultures that would take things up to elder people in the family when things goes wrong for the couples. That's why calling his mother is the first step. His culture doesn't allow divorce. His mother will try very hard to make him see reasons.

To be fair, we both have no excuses to sleep in. Husband was watching TV in the basement late last night. I was reading next to the baby until 1. The baby woke up multiple times at night and I was the one to put him back to sleep. I just moved him to our bed around 5am because I'm tired of leaning over the crib to put him back to sleep. Husband helped hold the baby to help him fall asleep in our bed. He might not get enough sleep too.

Has anyone switched from daycare to nanny due to illnesses

Upvotes

My son got sick on his first week of daycare and reading around it seems like i should expect him to be sick over half time he’s in daycare for the first year? Is that accurate since it seems brutal and getting me looking for a nanny. Im wondering if anyone did the same thing. Especially since viral infections don’t really build immunity for later it seems like the struggle isn’t worth it? Also would love to know why some choose daycare over nanny (my son is 1 year old)

Autism in school

Upvotes

So my son ( 10 ) is autistic, and has the aggression, cussing & meltdowns that come with it. He has been thru an ABA program and “ graduated “. Now insurance has denied ABA ever since.
He is in a functional class, and I had a meeting with the principal & teacher before school started to discuss my son’s challenges. They laughed and said it wasn’t anything they weren’t used to.

I am a single mom with no help whatsoever, who found the golden egg of a job that will work with my children’s school schedule ( M-F , 8-230pm ).

Since school has started in my area Aug 12th, my son’s school has called me 8 times to come pick him up due to aggressions towards staff. I told them that I can’t keep leaving work early, I have to be able to pay my bills and could potentially lose my job. The school told me to file FMLA papers thru his doctor so being fired won’t happen. I told them that was a nice suggestion but FMLA wouldn’t pay my bills.
They have called multiple times, asking if I could put him on half days. I told them no, as stated I work my children’s school schedule.

He has a Behavior Intervention Plan in place, as well as an IEP. He just started taking medication for his behavior and sleep problems a few weeks ago ( due to a very rough summer where he began being aggressive towards his little sister for the first time ever) and I see improvements at home. The school disagrees.

No matter what, twice a week at least I’m being called to come pick him up. I’ve asked for documentation every time this happens and get told they will have to mail it to me and basically get rushed out of the school. I have never received one. I offer solutions over the phone to help with his behaviors, his teacher says she will try it, then calls back an hour later stating someone has to come and pick him up.

I have tried to look up laws surrounding this but I just get a bunch of AI crap that I don’t support.
I don’t see how his BIP or IEP are being followed if I’m being called an hour into the school day to come and get him.

I’m wondering if anyone here would know anything about this or know of a good community to join regarding this?

Fashion moms with little kids: how are you shopping?

Upvotes

Mom of a four year old and one year old here. I work in a fashion conscious industry and used to dress very well pre-kids. Now I’m done with kids, back near my old weight and ready to start rebuilding my wardrobe, but I have no time to shop!! Are people ordering thousands of dollars worth of clothes online and just returning a ton?

New parent and I’m worried about grandparents’ old-fashioned parenting style when they babysit

Upvotes

My mom has memory issues and boundary issues (things like walking into our house and into our bedroom while I’m nursing, and being taken aback when I ask for her to knock next time because I’ve got my breasts out, saying “oh okay, well just so you know, it’s just me.” She also struggles with memory issues, forgot to put my bagged breastmilk in the fridge and put a diaper on wrong. She frequently brings up the idea of babysitting if she “lived closer.”

My in-laws apparently used to spank my husband over trivial things like stealing cookies and not wanting to do his homework. I believe in setting boundaries and giving consequences, but I believe in this being calm, non-physical, and for the consequences to make complete sense with the behavior- really meant to help the child grow as a person, and not as much about respecting authority.

I don’t think either my parents or my in-laws will do the job of childcare the way I envision if they’re heavily involved and witness some “terrible twos.” But of course, everyone has to accept different parenting styles when they get help right?

Do you receive this type of help if you have multiple kids? This is when we envision starting to actually need help. Do you have friction with the in-laws that you work through, or do you simply rely on daycare? I’d like him to have a positive relationship and good memories together and maybe they might act different with the grandkids idk. I worry about their homophobia/transphobia as well, I don’t want to raise our son that way 😮‍💨

Oh, also, my husband wants his parents to maybe babysit but not mine, but he doesn’t want to insult them. They’re all moving closer to us to “help”

Is 3.5 too late to start potty training?

Upvotes

I’ve heard mixed things - some people say it’s so much easier and quicker if you wait but I’ve also heard it gets harder the longer you wait because they’re so used to using a diaper. I have 6 year old twins as well and tried the 3 day method when they were 2.5, which completely backfired as they clearly just weren’t ready. Then we tried again at 3, again at 3 years 3 months, all the way until they were pushing 4. I will say, I was stressing out over it SO BAD with them that they probably felt it which only made things worse.

I don’t want the same thing to happen to my now 3-year-old. He turned 3 in May and we’ve introduced the potty to him, bought him underwear, give him opportunities to use the toilet throughout the day, which he sometimes does, but we don’t force anything and are trying not to stress for now. At 3.5yo though I might actually start “potty training” if he hasn’t picked up on it by then, like doing sticker charts, diaper-less days, etc. Any thoughts from more experienced parents? TBH I’m scarred from potty training my twins lol.

At my wits end

Upvotes

My 3 year old daughter is so badly behaved, I genuinely don’t know what to do. My husband feels the same,. I am so lost and miserable. It’s gotten worse the past couple weeks.

She refuses to pick up her toys time and time again so we took away all of her toys. Like every single one because we got so tired of it.

We took away tv time because she doesn’t listen to anything else we say.

I can’t put her in timeout because I’m almost 8 months pregnant, suffering from severe pubic symphysis and she kicks. I’m scared she’ll kick me in the stomach because she kicks HARD.

We are not a spanking type of punishment family.

I have never felt so lost and worthless as a mother. It’s so overstimulating when she’s yelling in my face that I yell back and feel like shit. Like she’ll be okay for a few days, listen well and earn a few toys back. Then the next day she’s right back to defying what we ask and not listening so we take all the toys right back.

I’m aware this time is stressful for everyone with a new baby coming, school starting and what not, but oh my god I am seriously done.

I don’t really know why I’m posting here, I just feel so lost and hopeless

Advice

What can we do with a baby that will cry all day, all the time not being held/touched by mom (my wife). My wife can’t sit in the couch with me because the kid will scream and cry. Being in sight isn’t enough. She needs my wife on the floor with her, touching. She won’t play independently. She is not learning independence. If I take her to the room by myself she can be fine but the minute my wife walks in she screams and cries. We are tired of it. If I hug my wife while she is on the floor the kid comes to push me away and cry. If my wife is nursing the sister (twins), she comes and tries to push her and cry. The baby won’t let ANYONE else be or breathe. We are tired. My wife and I can’t spend time together. My wife can’t walk. The baby crawls and we thought when she could move it would be better because she could follow, but no. Now it’s worse than ever. She starts crying while crawling demanding to be picked up. She is one year old! It’s been like this for a whole year, I would say this is the worse it has ever been. She goes to the pediatrician for every well check, her doctor didn’t say much when we brought it up. She is physically healthy. She does OT with early intervention, OT has been dismissive (she’s too young I think). Wearing her all day is not feasible. We are at a loss. It’s affecting our relationship. This is not sustainable. We do not know what to do or who to ask. She has always been very hard but this is beyond everything else.

How to Celebrate First Birthday?

Upvotes

Looking for ideas and suggestions on how to celebrate my kiddos first birthday. We're hoping to do some sort of smash cake and get some cute pictures, but I also want to do something to commemorate surviving this first year and I am coming up blank. I feel like we didn't celebrate anything in his first year and I don't want that to be the status quo. He was born in early October 3 days before my birthday, so nothing happened for that. We were still exhausted at Thanksgiving. Our 11 year old lab died 4 days before Christmas. I don't remember New Years. Mother's Day was bogarted by Grandpa.

Father's day we actually sort of celebrated. He got gifts and we all attempted an outing in our new car.

So now we're coming up on his first birthday and I want to do better. I want him to look forward to these celebrations like I did when I was a kid. The main issue we're running into is we don't have any family to celebrate with and no friends really either. I have no family on my side and his family is 2k miles away.

So how do you make holidays and birthdays special for your family? Are you able to make it special for yourself too? How much do you include the spouse on planning? Or is it mostly just telling them when and where to show up? lol

Bedtime routine is killing me - how do you get a toddler (20 months) not to cry?

Upvotes

For as long as I can remember our toddler was going to bed at 6:30pm after 2 episodes of Bear in the Big Blue house. We would just put her in PJs after her show and her dad would put her in bed and turn on a night light. She screamed during the diaper change/pjs but then would be quiet while falling asleep for the most part.

Around 18 months old, I realized she was laying in bed for upwards of an hour just rolling around and I felt really bad. I happened to have her Dr appt around then so I asked and he said it was fine to let her hang out in bed if she felt happy, but after doing some research I realized her wake windows were really short, plus she was skipping some naps so I decided to move her schedule around.

Now, naps are going wonderfully and she has a lot more time awake. We do 6 hours in the morning and 5.5 at night. She still watches 2 episodes of her show, but I noticed she was getting fussy when we tried putting her down at 7pm which I thought might have been because of a too-short wake window or having TV right up against bedtime (we dont do tv before her nap). I've been doing 30 minutes of roughhousing/books with her before bed, and while she now falls asleep within 10 minutes of me leaving her room, she starts crying when we get to the second to last page of her 2nd bedtime book because she knows it means I'm about to leave. She only cries for a minute, but it is that loud screaming cry that just breaks my heart.

I'm pretty sure its not that she is over tired, I think she is just really sad that playtime is over. She literally calls out two or three times and then goes to sleep but it makes me want to cry. Is there something I should be doing differently, or is this just how bedtime goes when theyre little? She's 20 months old now for reference.

How am i supposed to explain to my six year old that mommy and daddy arent together anymore?

Upvotes

I honestly don’t even know how to have this conversation with him.

His dad and I have been together for 8 and a half years. He’s known us as a family for his entire life, so the idea of telling him that Mommy and Daddy aren’t going to be together anymore feels absolutely heartbreaking.

He’s only 6, and I don’t want to give him details that he doesn’t need to know or make him feel like he has to pick sides. I also don’t want to give him false hope that we’re going to get back together when that’s not what’s happening.

The part I’m really struggling with is that his dad says explaining the breakup to our child is solely my responsibility because I’m the one who ended the relationship. And I understand that I made the decision, but I don’t know how I’m supposed to sit down with our six-year-old and explain why his parents aren’t together anymore without making it sound like this is someone’s fault.

I don’t want our son to feel like he has to choose between us. I don’t want him to think Daddy is gone or Mommy is gone. I don’t want him wondering if he did something wrong. And I definitely don’t want to put adult relationship problems on his shoulders.

I think the hardest part for me is that I don’t want him to think this means his family is disappearing. His dad is still his dad. I’m still his mom. We both love him. But our relationship is ending, and I don’t know how to make a six-year-old understand the difference.

How did you explain separation/breakup to your young kids? What words did you use? Did you tell them why? Did you have both parents there for the conversation?

And if you were the parent who initiated the breakup, did you handle that conversation yourself, or did you think both parents should explain it together?

I’m just really hurting and scared of getting this wrong. He’s six. He deserves to feel safe and loved through all of this, and I want to do everything I can to make sure he knows that none of this is his fault.

Baby’s Separation Anxiety

Upvotes

I have spent every single day with my 7mo since she was born. Scratch that, since she was conceived. I’ve loved every bit of our time together and getting to see her firsts. I’m so grateful. But I need to return to work soon, at least part-time, and am very nervous about daycare. She has bad separation anxiety specifically with me.

Family doesn’t help. Gen X have to be the worst grandparents across the board. No offense to any Gen X grandparents who are actually there for your families—I’m not talking about you.

My husband is Marine Corps Reserves (formerly active) and he’s been gone for little chunks of her life on international drills, in the field, etc. and he works long hours for his civilian work, like 50hr weeks. So for much of her life, it’s JUST been her and I.

Before I got let go while on maternity leave, I was a teacher. Highly paid in my state and I LOVED my work. Got my MA and started my career at 22. I was devastated when they cut my position. I need at least part-time work for my mental health and finances, as SAHM life gets so repetitive, lonely and under stimulating and we could really use the income.

I’ve tried putting her in the daycare at my gym for small 30-60 min chunks, and she’s had fullllll meltdowns. I’m talking hyperventilating—I could hear her screaming clear across the gym, and I had to stop my workout like 10-20min in to pick her up.

So I’m nervous to put her in daycare even a few days a week. Since she’s a baby she doesn’t know when or if I’ll be back. It breaks my heart. How have you handled this and did it turn out well?

Thoughts on Pre-K?

Upvotes

It’s still a year away but I’ve been looking pre-k programs up all night. We were originally going to wait until kiddo was 5 and start him in Kinder. He just turned 3. We were looking into a 2 days a week mini-Montessori school but they called us back early on his trial day because he would not stop running around the classroom. Said they’d call us next week after other families have their trial day but I’m pretty sure he won’t be accepted because he was too disruptive. I was shocked because he’s generally pretty chill. We can go out to restaurants and coffee shops and have chill play dates without him being a handful but apparently he went wild. He’s never been to daycare or any structured learning program so now I’m thinking he might need a proper pre-k experience. It just sucks because all the programs here are full-time and I really enjoy taking him to storytime at the library or other kids stuff they have during school hours and well, those experiences won’t be able to happen anymore. I guess I wanted to know when you started your kiddos in school. If your kids struggled? If pre-k was some kind of miracle worker? If having them home longer was actually better? Just thoughts and experiences in general.

Moms of high calorie intake 2-3 y/os - please help

Upvotes

My boy is 2.5, and he needs a lot of calories everyday or we enter tantrum/meltdown mode. Up until 2 weeks ago, he was still drinking 3-5 10oz bottles of homo milk per day, plus meals, plus snacks. He regularly poops 3 times per day, he’s 40 pounds.. not a bit of fat on him, he’s tall and solid. he has a high metabolism. He is fed good food (we fish and hunt all of our meat), doesn’t eat much sugar (only if it’s in a yogurt or fruit or other random snacks).

He eats a lot.

2 weeks ago his bottle broke. I took the opportunity to get him off the milk (I was having to change his diaper 2x per night, and sometimes he would still leak - so I was doing massive amounts of laundry). He still has a cup of milk here and there, but without the bottle, he doesn’t have much interest.

Good news - no wake ups for milk in the middle of the night anymore, and no diaper changes after he goes to bed. Also.. no more insane amounts of laundry!

Bad news - he is hangry.

Today, he had Greek yogurt, grapes and toast for breakfast. He then French fries and a hamburger for lunch. Also has 2 squeeze packs, 2 ziplock bags full of popcorn, carrots, celery, an apple with peanut butter, and by the time we reached supper.. he was having a full blown hangry meltdown.

I made some elk hamburger helper for supper.. and he ate two plates full, and is back to being my happy boy.

I need help getting this boy full throughout the day. I’m going to the grocery store tomorrow, and am going to grab some ingredients for shakes.. but I’m desperate for more ideas.

Looking for help from mamas that have experience with this

Getting three girls to share a room without arguing all night.

Upvotes

Hello. I am a mom to four, but am posting about my friends kids as she's asked for my help with them.

My best friend has three girls aged 7, 9 & 11. The girls have always shared a room relatively okay, but the last couple of weeks they have become absolutely vile to one another. They go to bed at 8, but will be up screaming at each other for hours after bedtime. One tells another to shut up, to stop moving, and then all three are fighting.

I drove over tonight to help as they behave for me, but omfg. I could hear them from the driveway. She is telling them to be quiet even five minutes easily. If she ignores them they all end up sobbing and getting up anyway.

My teens have never fought like this. I literally have no idea how to help her. She's completely exhausted.

Any and all ideas would be so appreciated. She is at the point where she's admitted wanting to slap them just to see if it'll shock them into silence. She would never, but she's sitting across from me as I type and she's literally shaking with anger.

She has removed all privileges (no fun snacks, screens, toys in their rooms, no park, etc) and nothing has changed. I have told them to cut it out a few times now and they say sorry to me but are back at it within minutes.

She has thought about giving up her room and sleeping on the couch, but that still leaves two sharing still and she doesn't honestly want to sleep on the couch, and I don't think she should have to.

9 months PP and it stills feels like everything I’m doing is wrong

Upvotes

First time mom (and mainly a sahm) to a beautiful 9m old girl. She hitting her milestones (pulling to stand/crawling up stairs/can sign a few things/babbles) and overall a happy girl. Yet every night once she’s down I can’t help but ruminate on all the things I wish I did better in the day.

I worry that I’m talking at her and not to her and will cause her speech to get delayed. I worry she spends too much time being independent and we won’t bond. I worry we do mainly the same things every day or eat similar meals and she won’t get diversity. I worry she get too used to screens because we occasionally FaceTime family or play music on the phone. Basically it feels like every choice I make feels like I’m not making good choices.

Anyways I’m pretty sure I have PPA and my current meds are not helping enough. I know I need to make an appointment but also not sure how much it will help on that front because I had to stop my previous anxiety/adhd meds as they were pregnancy or breastfeeding safe.

So besides medication which is a work in progress how are we coping with mom guilt/the weight of being responsible for a baby’s development? I love my baby girl so much and want to do what’s best for her, but I also know that i need to figure out what I’m doing with myself too.

Christmas presents for 18 month old boy

Upvotes

Trying to get ideas for my son who will be 18mo at Christmas. He’s the second born so we already have lots of things: pickler triangle, nugget-dupe couch, rider trike, water table, splash pad, stool with his name letters.
Definitely not trying to break the bank, and I love to find a good Marketplace deal, but mostly just need ideas.

Potty training was perfect, for months, until today. Advice?

Upvotes

I am a first time mom so this is all a learning curve but I’m lost right now. My 2yo started potty training three months ago when we felt she was fully ready (she started to tell me she needed to go) and we did the three day method wearing actual cotton underwear. Aside from being sick a few weeks back, the only accident she’s ever had was the first day of training. She will even wake me up in the middle of the night telling me she has to go. She consistently tells us she has to go during the day while playing and out and about- we haven’t had an issue. We still praise her EVERY TIME, she gets a mini m&m every single time, and it’s always so positive. We never make her feel bad or shame her if she doesn’t go or doesn’t make it and things were going so well.

But today, she woke with a wet pull-up, then had 4 separate accidents on rugs and furniture throughout the day. She has been increasingly resistant to sitting on it at all, in favor of playing. Lately she will start giving heavy cues on needing to go but if we ask her or discreetly guide her play towards the potty she flat refuses, says she doesn’t need to go, and starts throwing a tantrum. Even when she very clearly needs to.

This happened today and in the middle of telling us she didn’t have to go and screaming at me…she peed on the floor.

We simply told her it’s okay, accidents happen, got her on the potty immediately and praised her for the little bit she had left as we always do.

Are we doing something wrong here? Is it normal to go backwards like this even if there are ZERO routine or life changes? She isn’t sick to my knowledge, has no fever, I don’t suspect a UTI. But no matter what we try we can’t get her to move to the potty even to TRY. and it appears to just be getting worse.

Does anyone have any advice on this?

Breastfeeding at black tie wedding- dress recommendations

Upvotes

My childhood friend is getting married, I’m so excited. She said no kids which I respected fully. Then she has been with my kids a lot this summer and randomly she texted me saying “if it’s easier for you to take them, then please do, I love them, and want them there.” Whew! Wonderful back up plan and so grateful to have this option. My toddler is wild so I’m not taking her. However, my baby won’t take the bottle, I had the opposite problem with my first. She’s almost 8 months and thinks the bottle is a chew toy. I should’ve started this transition sooner but my dad died a couple months ago and I couldn’t handle anymore mentally taxing events, I was maxed out. Anyways, I sucked it up, pumped, I have milk. She won’t take it. I just bought new nipples with faster flow to try so I hope that works. I really want to have a fun night with my husband but not at the expense of her starving obviously lol. Also I bring her to work so separation anxiety is probably going to be an issue. So I need advice on these things:
1. How to switch over to bottle
2. What type of back tie event dress would be easiest for pumping/breastfeeding?
3. If she refuses the bottle and Saturday arrives, and I take her the wedding is from 430-1030. How do I manage her sleeping? Do i bring a stroller? Baby wear?
4. If she does take the bottle, will I totally ruin her and my babysitter’s night because of separation anxiety?(my friend not a usual babysitter but she is familiar with it)

MY MOM BRAIN IS HAVING ISSUES PROBLEM SOLVING SO I APPRECIATE ANY HELP. Thank you

My baby hates being a baby

Upvotes

Basically just a rant and maybe some reassurance it gets better?

I absolutely adore my baby. She is my entire world. But im in the trenches.

At 6 weeks old she got struck down with colic and nasty reflux that still exists now that shes almost 5 months old. We tried everything - all the reflux meds but they just constipated her and made her even more miserable. She has spent the past few months not really sleeping and only being happy in my arms but its at the expense of my poor back (shes got heavy and holding her for 12+ hours a day has taken its toll!). She still doesnt sleep through the night except now shes fighting naps and only naps for 20mins at a time (hello sleep regression)

Now shes 5 months old and i think we have the reflux under control a bit better but she is still just not a happy baby. She seems to spend most of her time crying or fussing or irritable. She hates being set down for naps or in her chair. She hates being on my knee. She absolutely despises tummy time and will purple scream if I lay her on her stomach or back. She just wants to be in my arms, but moving around (she will cry if we are stood in one spot). She needs constant stimulation but im at a loss because she cant crawl yet and shows very little interest in any toys or books ive got her. I spend every waking hour singing to her or walking her around in my arms, to the point that if I try to set her down to go make myself food she will scream until I pick her up again. Sometimes she cries when she is in my arms as well.

She also absolutely hates people. We have tried so very hard to have her visiting relatives or go to baby and parent groups since she was little but if anyone speaks to her or holds her she will SCREAM. This includes relatives shes known her entire life - if someone has the audacity to speak to her she gets so upset. Anyone else holding her is completely out of the question. This has made babysitting impossible and I still havent made it out of the house without her ever. Ive never been apart from her since the day she was born. No one can even hold her for me while I eat or use the toilet.

Im at a weird place where I absolutely love being around her but simultaneously need a tiny break but cant seem to get one as she only wants to be with me, in my arms, walking around, breaking my back lol. I feel like im doing something wrong because shes never 'happy' or 'giggly' like all of the other babies - she just goes from purple screaming at worst to mildly fussy/irratable/squirmy at best.

Has anyone else got an extremely antisocial fussy irritable baby?! Does it get better?! Will my back ever recover? Help

I'm pregnant with a toddler and I genuinely don't think I'm strong enough to have 2 kids

I'm 9 weeks with a 2 year old and I don't think I can do it.

My toddler hasn't slept through the night since she was born. I don't know what the fuck to do with her anymore. We've graduated to a big girl bed but she won't stay in it. I don't even have the energy to type out how fucking frustrating she is.

I love her more than life itself but I am so goddamn exhausted and fatigued. She's so incredibly clingy and never lets my husband do anything with her. It's all me.

I get breaks on Fridays and it's great but I don't think I'm emotionally strong enough to handle 2 children. And that makes me feel like shit because my own neglectful pill head mother had 4 kids and so does my sister in law, they're both trainwrecks and I don't know HOW THEY COPE WITH MORE THAN 1 CHILD.

I find myself letting her watch Bluey and Ms Rachel a lot because I can't handle it on my own. My husband works and I stay home so it's all on me.

I can't survive this
