I always hear the argument “Consoles just work. PC’s require hours of troubleshooting and at this stage of my life I just don’t have the patience.”

I’m not arguing consoles aren’t more simple. But for the last 6 years I’ve quite literally never had an issue with my PC. Not even with Windows for that matter. I turn it on, startup discord, a browser, and game of my choice. Besides the rare game crash, I deal with no issues. I update my GPU when it prompts me to, and I update Windows when it prompts me to.

In terms of reliability, I find consoles to break just as often, if not more than PC components. I’ve had friends with PlayStations that have had thermal issues, power issues, hdmi output issues.

At the end of the day, they both have their pros and cons but I feel like this conversation of PC’s having complications is blown so out of proportion.

So , well, I done it. I sold my 5090 that I bought 10 months ago for £1700 for £4100 on eBay and grabbed myself the following..... Sapphire 9070XT.... Mac Studio M5 Max .... Elgato Wave XLR Pro Audio Interface.... Stream Deck Plus. I got a good return on what was initially an impulse buy. I played games on the 5090 less than 4 hours a week. My home office was like a sauna even after an undervolt, I simply wasn't utilizing the amazing power of the 5090 even at 4K. I have absolutely no regrets selling it, zero, nada ... None . The 2 games I really play are poe2 and overwatch and the gaming experience has not changed 1 bit. Overwatch stills gets me 240 FPS at 4K and poe2 sits nicely at 140+ FPS. Just wanted to share my experience not what I would describe as downgrading but rather relocating resources In a way that fits my work / game lifestyle.

At least play the vanilla game for a little bit to feel what it's like before, then you can appreciate it more with what the mods add to it after!

You will get a sense of appreciation of how modders improve on things, you wouldn't know if you didn't try it beforehand

The 2 black boxes showed up originally on my lock screen but went away after moving my mouse over them. Occasionally my screen will go black and come back when opening steam and now those weird boxes on the game page that would go away and come back when hovering the mouse over one of the link boxes like the discussions tab.

I’m super proud of it, my dad and I built it together and everything. I put some of the money, got some parts used or gifted, and my parents helped me too.

Rocking 16 gigs of ram, RTX 3050 (that i got for basically nothing), eagle b550 mb, and a Ryzen 5 5000.
