Magic Keyboard iPad 13 air keyboard

Upvotes

Hi there, I’m looking for a keyboard for my iPad but idk what to buy? Because Apple ones are expensive and the fact that I live in Europe limits me even more.

I’ve heard some people buying keyboards from temu? In my country I’ve found these ones as well; Epico iPad Pro 12,9" (3.-6. gen)/Air 13" (M2-M4) - US andddd Logitech Keys To Go 2 Graphite – US INTL

Thank u in advance 💕🥹

Discussion Should I get the iPad A16 or wait for the A18? Looking for longevity + budget friendly option

Upvotes

Hey, I’m a med student and I have a laptop ( I use it mainly for studying and I don’t face any problem w it ) but I want to get an iPad for easier note taking. I was thinking of the A16 yet I wanna make sure of its longevity since the A18 should be coming soon as rumoured
What do u think, should I get the A16 or wait for the A18? (I don’t really care abt Apple Intelligence) the main thing I’m looking for is longevity and I’m also looking for an iPad that’s budget friendly because I’m a student and the student discount isn’t available in the country I’m in

Discussion iPad Air M4 11 inch battery

Upvotes

I bought my iPad almost two weeks ago, but I barely used it since my case hadn't arrived, so it currently only has 3 cycles. I also set it to the 80% charging capacity as soon as I purchased it. I have not used it on charge ever, not charged it when it feels warm, and also not charging it overnight.

My battery life up until today has been really good, losing around 1% every 10 minutes.

However, today I finally took it outside to take notes at school and my battery drained so quickly. I lost around 1% every 2 minutes. Does anybody know why this is happening? Should I get it checked?

This was also my first time having my apple pencil constantly attached to the iPad, so does that have anything to do with it?..

Discussion Which would be better for my use case: iPad A16 or iPad mini?

Upvotes

Hey guys, I’m a little confused about which iPad to buy and would really appreciate some advice.

My main use case would be:

- Light sketching

- Watching movies/videos

- Listening to music

- Having a small second screen to watch something while I’m working

I’m currently deciding between the iPad A16 and iPad mini. I understand that the iPad A16 doesn’t have Apple Intelligence, but that’s not really a major concern for me.

What I’m mainly struggling with is deciding which screen size would be better for this use case.

I’ll also get a USB-C Apple Pencil for some light sketching, and I might get a keyboard in the future, although I’m not sure yet.

For those of you who sketch on an iPad, I’d especially appreciate your input on which one you would recommend.

For anyone who owns either one, which would you recommend for these kinds of uses? Is the mini too small for watching movies, or would the iPad A16 be unnecessarily large for what I need?

Would love to hear your experiences!

Hi! So basically what the title says, I need one of those apps (I'd choose the one year subscription) to take notes, mainly for college and for personal uses, both are great so I can't decide between them, which one would you recommend?

Thanks!!

Question iPad got a little bit wet

Post image
Upvotes

Hello

Last Tuesday (today is Monday) my bottle leaked water in my backpack. I turned the iPad off as soon as I noticed and placed it on rice in a airproof bag as people are advising online.

Should I still get it checked out at an apple provider shop? Can they do much more than I could/is it worth it? It'd cost 50€ to get it checked and that doesn't include damages that may have occurred. I'm not sure if it is worth it or if I should just hope for the best and do it myself/start using it again.

Does anyone have any advice/inside knowledge what they do to check if anything has been damaged inside?

50€ is much money for me so I'd only do it if y'all say it is really worth it (as I also have to get my more expensive laptop checked as it was in the same backpack).

Thanks in advance!

PS: it wasn't much water but at least the case was soaked (picture added)

Apps What note-taking app should I use on my ipad air as a pre-med student?

Upvotes

I just started college, and I’m currently using an iPad Pro for pretty much all of my schoolwork. I’m a pre-med student, and I’m trying to figure out what note-taking app I should commit to before I get too far into the semester.

I have two main questions:

  1. What note-taking app should I use?

I’d like something that can keep all of my notes/files organized and ideally sync everything through iCloud, since I want to be able to access my stuff across my Apple devices.

Another big thing for me is that my handwriting is god awful 💀. So I’d really like an app that has features that can make handwritten notes look cleaner/prettier, or at least make it easy to organize my notes and make them look good. I’ve heard about apps like Goodnotes, Notability, and a few others, but I’m not sure which one would be best.

  1. How should I actually take notes/study when professors talk really fast?

My professors move pretty quickly, and I’m already worried that I won’t be able to write everything down while also actually understanding what they’re saying. I’m not sure if I should be handwriting everything, typing, recording lectures, annotating the PowerPoints, or some combination of those.

For other pre-med students, what has worked best for you? Do you have a specific note-taking/studying system that you’d recommend?

I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who use an iPad for most of their classes.

1st gen mini to A16, probably my biggest upgrade ever. I've been enjoying how much more convenient it is compared to the mini and having more storage than 16 GB is pretty sweet. I'll keep the mini for legacy iOS stuff.

Review Seems Paperlike finally got it right. (Also comparing to JETech Papered Glass)

Upvotes

In the past 7 years I’ve tried a lot of “paper like” screen protectors. Including version 1 and 2 of Paperlike. Version 1 and 2 were such bull excrement that I was very skeptical to try out the 3. Especially since I had a rather great screen protector. I was using a JETech papered glass screen protector. I was already using it for 16 months. But it had 1 big negative, it ate nibs like crazy, the first few months I had to change my apple brand nibs on a weekly basis.
So on May 5th 2026 I changed my screen protector from JETech to Paperlike 3.

When I first applied the JETech it was very unpleasant on the fingers. It felt as if it would scrape of my skin. (Explains why it’s such a nib eater) So when I installed the Paperlike 3 and touched it with my fingers I was shocked how smooth it felt and I immediately thought I made the big mistake. But then I tried my pen and it was amazing. From all the protectors I’ve used over the years, this one felt the best.

Now we are 4 months further and I had to change it. It was completely used up. I use my pen on a daily basis, for many hours a day, so in the end especially in the middle of the screen it had so many tiny scratches that depending what was on the screen that it was visible. It didn’t bother me so much, until my pen kept getting stuck on that spot. That was not ok. So today I changed it.
I was reminded how complicated the installation process was, although this second time went a lot smoother than the first time. So I assume that with time it’ll get easier.

But omg, so much glue residue. I had to take out my screen cleaner because the wet wipe that was provided was by far not enough. It only made my screen dirty. Even with the screen cleaner I had to apply it several times before I finally got rid of all the glue residue. I have never ever seen this before in changing a screen protector. Not in protectors for tablet, phone, Nintendo Switch or my MSI A1M claw. Honestly never.
But most protectors especially for our phones we end up replacing them because they start to come loose. This one I actually had to use that helper tool because I couldn’t get it loose. Now I know why. Wauw…

Let’s make a clean comparison between the 2

Paperlike 3 JETech Papered glass
————————————————————————————————————-
Lasted: 4 months 16 months
Nib use: Still using the same one Too many to count
Finger friendly: Yes No
Price: 44€ for 2 14€ for 1
Easy to apply: So and so Yes

So if I put both to 16 months. I would pay 88€ for 4 Paperlikes versus the 14€ for the 1 JETech. But a pack of nibs is 25€ for 4. I used many such packs over the 16 months, I truly lost count.
I do have to add that I used apple brand nibs with the JETech and now I’m using the Paperlike brand. Paperlike claims it lasts 10 times longer. I don’t know in how far this is accurate. I do think that on the JETech they would have gone fast as well, that grid felt like it scraped off my flesh.
But I spend minimum 200€ on nibs in those 16 months. That’s a nib a month and in the beginning I used a pack a month. So it’s definitely more.
With the Paperlike I haven’t changed my nib yet, but I will have to soon. So to make it easy 1 per screen protector. And the price of the paperlike nibs is 24€ for 4

So in the end after 16 months using the JETech I’ve spend minimum 214€, while if I base my use on this first protector I’ll be spending 112€.

I think that makes the price for the paperlike 3 definitely worth it.
I am definitely sticking with it.

Question Is this abnormal battery drain, or is this normal iPad battery consumption?

Thumbnail
gallery
Upvotes

I'm relatively new to iPad, so I'm trying to figure out whether I'm actually dealing with abnormal battery drain or just misunderstanding what's normal

My iPad is relatively new, Battery Health is 100%, and the cycle count is around 26

Apple diagnostics have also said everything is normal

Before this issue started, with very light use/mostly idle, I would normally lose around 3% over an entire day

This is based on my iPad's own previous usage, not a claimed “normal” number from somewhere else

For about a month now, I've been seeing much higher consumption

I usually keep Wi-Fi off when I'm not using the iPad.

When I first went to the service centre about the idle drain, they asked me to actually use the iPad so they could observe the battery consumption

I followed their instructions and recorded some active use data as well

Brightness was around 50% during these active-use tests

For example:

Sept 6: 46% battery used, 4h 9m screen-on. I was basically just reading a book in the Files app, with Wi-Fi off

Sept 7: 45% battery used, 4h 7m screen-on. Wi-Fi was on and brightness was around 50%. I watched YouTube through Safari for around 25 minutes (not HD), and the rest of my Safari usage was just normal web surfing

I also have screenshots from the earlier low-use days where I got:

Sept 1: 14% used, 2 min screen-on

Sept 2: 14% used, 2 min screen-on

Sept 3: 15% used, 3 min screen-on

Wi-Fi was off on those days

Another thing I've noticed is that Battery Usage seems to blame whichever app I happen to use the most that day For example, when I use Safari, Safari shows up with a higher percentage; when I spend most of my time reading in Files, Files gets the higher percentage The percentage can also increase later even after I've stopped using that app So I'm not sure whether this attribution is actually meaningful or whether I'm misunderstanding how iPadOS reports battery usage

The service centre previously told me they couldn't really see the drain unless I actually used the iPad, so I'm trying to give them active-use data as requested.

Do these numbers look abnormal to you, or would you consider this normal iPad battery consumption? I'm not trying to claim the battery is defective — I genuinely want to know whether I'm worrying about normal behaviour or whether this is worth pushing the service centre to investigate

iPadOS iPad Pro M5 13in getting super hot on iPad OS 26.6.1

Upvotes

Bought my iPad Pro M5 back in February and it's been flawless until about a week ago. Now the screen gets noticeably hot to the touch — I can feel it with my fingers and palm — even during light use. We're talking minimal multitasking, not gaming or video editing. It hits uncomfortably warm within about 5 minutes.
The only thing that changed recently is a software update I installed a few weeks ago, so I'm suspecting that's connected, but I can't be sure.
What I've already tried:
• Restarting the device multiple times
• Closing all background apps
• Nothing unusual running that I can tell
Why I'm worried:
It's an OLED/tandem OLED display on the M5, and I'm concerned sustained heat like this could degrade the panel or otherwise cause long-term damage. This never happened in the months before the update.

Anyone else experiencing this? And if so please share your experiences below and also solutions if you have any. Thanks

Question iPad to TV HDMI Issue

Upvotes

My iPad Pro was connecting to my TV via HDMI cable just fine yesterday, but when I turned it on today, it isn’t working. I get the little blue box in the top corner when I plug it in but it disappears after about 30 seconds. It isn’t showing “connected displays” under Brightness and Display. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I’ve unplugged my TV, did a hard restart of my iPad, unplugged the HDMI cable, tried plugging it into different TV ports. I’ve made sure my iPad is up to date. I’ve plugged my phone in and it works just fine.

What else can I try?

Hardware details:
iPad Pro 12.9 inch, 6th generation
Cable: J5Create USB-C to 4K HDMI Cable
TV: Roku

Discussion apple pen pro stopped working after ios 26.6 update

Upvotes

title. i get a display when i put it on my ipad that just says “Apple Pen Pro” with no battery indicator or anything else. it won’t connect to bluetooth at all even when it’s attached. restarting made it work again for 2 seconds until it stopped working again.

I searched and tried a ton of different methods at this point like twisting the cap/tip on and off, resetting network settings, forgetting it on the device, nothing works.

This seems to have been a problem for a while now that still doesn’t have a clear fix yet.

Has anyone tried anything else that worked or should I just bite the bullet and get a replacement? This really feels more like an issue with the OS and less with the pen itself.

Edit: this is on a rather new 13” iPad Pro M4 by the way
