56 cents per mile. That’s just hilarious.

I live in an apartment building in a downtown area that is surrounded by other apartment buildings and hotels. I have a disability so I request in the arrival instructions for the Dasher to bring my order up to my apartment and hand it to me. 99.9% will, but there are some who unassign. Since the building can be hard to find, I reach out to each Dasher in the chat to give an entry code for the building along with a photo of the building.

I just ordered from Wingstop and the Dasher messaged to see where they should park, even though I gave clear directions. 5 minutes pass and no communication, so I check in and they tell me they are in the elevator. Then I get another message 30 seconds later asking for the entry code (that I had put in the chat) to unlock the elevator so they can come up to deliver the order and get the delivery pin.

Am I missing something here? I thought my directions were very clear. I try not to get frustrated as I know the service is a luxury, but I’ll admit I was pretty annoyed.

I know DoorDash is a horrible, evil company and we shouldn’t order from them etc. etc. I just need to rant about how insane this situation is. I ordered a pizza earlier tonight, and apparently when the dasher arrived to drop it off my neighbor’s dog startled him. Mind you this dog is obese, old, and arthritic - I have a hard time believing he was any kind of real threat.

Anyway, the pizza ended up on the ground. This dasher picked it up, put it back in the box, then left it on my doorstep and took a picture of it as “delivered.” I complained and left a pic of what it looked like - there’s clearly grass all over it and it was obviously out of the box. DoorDash just issued me $5 in credits. FIVE DOLLARS. When I threw the entire pizza away and the images clearly show it’s inedible. I’m SO SICK of DoorDash!!

First pic is similar to the one I sent support showing the pizza was ruined. The second is the pic the dasher took to confirm he “delivered” my order.

i just wanna know if anyone has had a similar experience. i use ebt on doordash for kroger.
well on the 26th of august i placed an order. waited order never came. contacted support as it was already 2 hrs past my delivery time. they said they will assign a dasher. i told them that wouldn’t work bc i had to leave for work in 30 minutes and the dasher still needed to shop my order. they told me i could cancel my order and get a refund. order was cancelled. i paid with my ebt card for all the food items and my debit card for some pull ups for my child. i got the refund for the pull ups. but never got the refund for the ebt food items. i’ve contacted door dash and they are just telling me to wait 5-7 business days. it’s been more than 5-7 business days and i still haven’t got my refund. has anyone else had this problem & if so how did you get it resolved?

Need to replace my car and wondering if a hybrid is worth it? They tend to be a little more expensive which I'm sure the savings in gas would off set but im worried about the big price tag to get the battery changed when thats needed. I tend to want to keep a car til I run it into the ground.

Sorry MY dasher didnt take the order because they had something else to do? Then why are they still assigned to my order for an hour+ while Im messaging asking if he is still picking up my food. he was inside a house for the entire time he was assigned to my order. in this case the dasher should drop the order right? AIO?

I did not wait for a new dasher to pick up my definitely very sad hour old tacos, the "refund" credit i received barely covered the cost of replacement food. I just moved into my first place with my boyfriend its 1am and I just want my tacos😭

Edit: my new tacos finally arrived it is now 2:25am (order originally placed at 12am) Francis got my food and delivered it perfectly 10/10 no notes. I needed these tacos, genuine life safer. Do not trust people named Carlos they will go home while your tacos die sad slow dealths. (this is a joke I am not upset with my dasher and hope he did not have a emergency that made him unable to complete my order. I am more poking fun at how support responded to me, "maybe your dasher thinks they already unassigned".. so you didnt ask them? the support agent I messaged with told me she was able to contact the driver allegedly, if that is the case would you not ask them why they did not unassign from the order?)

Edit 2: QOTD--> How much do you think I should have tipped on my 10$ taco bell order? Is doordash only to be used for larger orders so I can feel okay tipping more? I apologize but tipping almost half of what my food cost was better than average I thought.

Thank you for going above and beyond to re-deliver an item I desperately needed and that had fallen out of the bag and into your car.

Soooooo - unpopular opinion? If you want delivery for free - I submit that you get your ass in your car and go get it yourself … these were the easiest declines I’ve ever had. I swear that anyone that orders delivery should be required to drive deliveries for 1 week then let’s see if the shitty offers continue 🤬

Has anyone tried this? I got a new ID but left it somewhere, but want to order DoorDash lol. I found my old one and it's not expired, but I don't know if it will be blocked or become invalid. I really just want to use it for Doordash and not have an awkward encounter at the door.

How could someone working a register, unloading boxes onto shelves, standing at a hostess stand, or working as a waitress think they’re somehow above or better than someone else? And before someone says, “Gig work doesn’t have benefits…” Sure, it doesn’t. But at least I’m not miserable because I have to punch a clock every day and do something I dislike. This whole narrative about Dashers making $2 a trip is absurd. I’m in a big city, and even on a slow day I can make around $22 an hour. On a good day like today , i easily make $30–$40 an hour. That’s above minimum wage, and I have the flexibility to work when I want. I usually do this for the fun of it and the extra money since I rarely hang out. Another thing I don’t like is judging people based on their appearance. Just because someone looks nice while they’re working doesn’t mean anything, that should be the norm. I would always try to look nice when leaving home now I just wear a t-shirt and my hair pulled back when working. Same goes for the dashers who don’t even look in the mirror before leaving home. Why judge them and they’re just trying to make a living for themselves. It’s like you can’t do anything without people judging you, and I’m never being judged by people I would trade lives with.

Went to check the price for delivery. There is straight up a $5 price markup between ordering for delivery through doordash and ordering through their app. So, obviously I'll be ordering through their app instead.

Same service, you get delivery through both. That is absolutely insane. How is it even legal.

I expect some kind of a markup, but the menu price for a burger that is $8.50 in store for instance is $9.50 on their app for delivery. That's a more expected markup. Paying $14 for something that's normally $8.50 is insane work.

There was an offer for new Door Dash users. Link President's Choice (PC) Points account (in Canada), place a minimum $15 order before fees and taxes and get 15,000 PC points ($15). So I placed a $31 order: milk jug, 30pc pack eggs and 1kg garlic. Included a tip.

The Door Dasher sent me a chat and said eggs are out of stock. And 2 mins later completes the order. I didn't even get a time to respond. The eggs are always on stock. Since he took eggs out, my order was below $15 and effectively made me unqualified for the $15 worth of points. When I pushed, the Dasher told me the Door Dash customer service told him not to pick up eggs (see screen shot). I then drove to Superstore right away (5 min drive) and eggs are indeed fully stocked (see photo), staff there told me they never ran out of 30 pc eggs packs.

I contacted Door Dash customer support and they refuse to compensate me for the $15 worth of PC points they deliberately scammed me out of. And offered no assistance or resolution what so ever.

First time and last time using Door Dash. I only used Door Dash becuase the $15 worth of points made it a good deal. I will stick to competitors who do not scam their customers.

There is a 7/11 about a mile from me that is what DoorDash automatically selects when I order from there. One time that store was offline so it let me order from a 7/11 two miles away and there were so many more options and hot food choices.

Is there a way to regularly order from the store two miles away?

So I've purchased the large catering bags, I mostly use them for grocery shopping trips now, but occasionally get the Large Catering Orders assigned to me. Every single one shows $2.00 base pay. If it's a perk for being Platinum and a perk for buying the bag the base pay should be minimum of $10. Yes the tips on these orders normally make it worthwhile to accept but it requires the customer to be generous or thoughtful when ordering 8 to 14 meals at once. The EZCater orders are a joke all together since the customer doesn't see an option to tip in the app and the set up pay of $3.00 is a joke lol.

When delivering item to customer, they told me to meet them in the front. When I pulled in the front customer was there and received their item. They also gave me the pin. 20 minutes later, I get a notice saying customer never received order in the messages. It did state that customer wanted to meet me in the front however, I could not have completed the order had. I have not gotten the pin. Has anyone ever been through this? Situation, and what was your result ?

It's extremely disheartening, that people lie about not receiving orders, not understanding that this is our way of generating income

I recently got a Cv for an order not delivered but when I talked to support they changed the order to delivered when they saw the picture.A day later I still got the violation but when I messaged to dispute it they rejected it.Is there a way to get this removed after dispute being rejected but not needing to do 100 deliveries?

i work overnight in a large building and sometimes i order food. for context i am a female, alone, and there’s no other people around the area so basically if something were to happen I’d really be shit out of luck LOL. so whenever i order, i always note what the door looks like and make sure it is a contactless delivery. sometimes i often get up and go to the back when they’re arriving so im not in view but for some reason the drivers will literally stand at the door until i come to grab it??? this guy recently just sat there and knocked for like 7 minutes so I sent a text saying “no one can grab the order currently, please just leave it at the door!” and from the cameras he just stared at the text 😭. i know it’s weird but i just don’t want to open the door LOL. do you guys see the delivery notes when you accept the order?? are they just making sure someone physically grabs it in case i report not getting it? i don’t understand why it’s such a reoccurring issue LOL.

Why do some other dashers in LA just leave food outside of APARTMENT BUILDINGS?! Like not even outside the main door. Literally just on the sidewalk?

I used to dash a lot and now I just do it occasionally and I cannot tell you how many times I've literally WATCHED dashers set and order on the side of the apartment building and then just leave. And the wild part is every single time I've seen it I've picked it up and brought it inside to deliver it to the person and it's the same story. They show me where they gave the dasher instructions on where to go and everything and it's like they don't even try. Do these people have trouble reading? I'll add I'm legally blind (that means I have very low vision but can still see just good enough and baring very few places that were exceptionally like a hole in the wall, I've rarely had an issue ever dropping off an order.
