Driving southbound on the 113 today and witnessed the shoulders of the road covered with tomatoes for all the way from Woodland. I know the Roma tomato season is in full swing right now but what’s up with this? You would think the transport trucks would invest in some tarps. Tomorrow I’ll just pull onto the shoulder with a bag of tortilla chips

I feel like I literally cannot commit to anything consistently. I’ll get motivated to study, exercise, play a sport, eat healthier, etc. and then within a few days I completely fall off.

I’m getting really tired of constantly starting things and never sticking with them. I genuinely WANT to be disciplined and have routines, but I have such a hard time making myself do things when the motivation disappears.

For anyone who used to be like this and actually became consistent, what helped you? How did you build discipline when you couldn’t rely on motivation?

I’m considering making a club for older students. I’m 26, just transferred, and I know roughly 70% of UCD students are between 18 - 22 years old.

Would anyone be interested?

Maybe we could host meets at a coffee shop, play board/card games, study, and just offer mutual academic support. I’m open to more ideas and can make a chat to brainstorm. I’ll also have to figure out how starting a club at UCD works.

Also this wouldn’t be to exclude anyone more so to just create a community for us older students so we don’t feel like odd ones out.

When is it the least busy?
Are there good weight machines? (The selection looks good but not sure)
Cardio machine selection/amount?
Is there a lap pool for swimmers?
Are the locker rooms coed? (I think I remember someone on here saying they were and that didn’t rlly make sense to me?)

Taking bio 002 with C. Ross-Ibarra and M. Singer. So far all of singer's rating are ass for Bis 2a, and Ilbarra doesnt have any ratings for 2a or 002. Anyone have experience with either of them for bio 002, anything regarding lecture and discussion attendance. And during tests are there hella Ta's that walk around (they always get me stressed). And for Mat 17c, im taking with A. Daddel, does he still do random assigned settings for tests. And are his discussions and lectures also mandatory? i was admitted to davis in 2021, took several gap years, did courses elsewhere and now i’m coming back for my final year. the most time i’ve spent on campus has been a few months at a time during summer sessions, i’ve never actually spent a full quarter on campus. i’m considered a senior with all the work i’ve done elsewhere & such so im in a weird spot (also 1-2yrs older than most seniors) so is there any advice on how i manage campus & such. for example, i don’t know where most locations are on campus & i also never got a student ID card lol (i’ve been a davis student this whole time tho)

So I’m shopping for my dorm stuff, but I’m not sure what the most efficient detergent and laundry options are for the dorm washers..

For context, my washer at home is kind of older and I use powder detergent, fabric softener, and scent beads but I’m worried that it will be more difficult to work with (having to carry it back and forth from my room to the laundry room).

Do you guys recommend liquid detergent or tide pods..? Any tips for using newer washers and dryers?

Does anyone want to hang out? I really need to make friends. Have been in Davis a few years and have been unable to make friends, and i’m honestly unsure why. Trying to turn my life around especially since i’ve gone on medical leave and i just don’t want to feel stagnant and sad and stuck at home anymore. It would be nice to have friends to study with, or just reason to be happy at the end of the day.
