Think about what people have been forced to do over the centuries to make others rich, or happy, and then think about what she how much money she is making for, very very likely, someone else. Hey. I don't doubt that it's "massive" in that it shouldn't be anywhere near as big as it is. But just from a very cursory AI search online, the % of coerced streams vs legitimate live streams is effectively 0%.

Yes I'm sure you'll laugh that I used AI, but I'm no invested enough in this argument to invest dozens if not hundreds of hours to get what I assume would be a very insignificant % more accuracy in estimation.

Now if you have actual sources that show it's closer to 50% I would love to see it and would start humoring the idea that the status quo has indeed changed. Otherwise, I'm going stick to my stance that the assumption that this clip is not evidence of human trafficking is indeed the more rational take.

As a former dancer and dance instructor: I danced for 4 hours straight once without break and I couldn't sleep that night because my legs hurt so bad. You can dance for many many hours over extended periods of time as long as you get a few minutes of break here and there and drink water. This is just horrible.

This is pretty common for entertainment, which is why as a creator you need to establish hard boundaries when engaging with it at all.

People like to watch other people get pranked or get embarrassed/frustrated/fail to do something, but when you continue to let it go too far you get more and more of your viewers who are only there for that content forcing you to keep doing it or going further at risk of losing your viewer base.

Anytime a streamer does this while they’re smaller and ends up becoming too much as they grow, they always end up having to make the barrier higher and higher or put a full stop to it. That’s why smaller streamer add like 2-3mins per sub vs 10-30seconds for larger streamers when doing subathons, and why many streamers won’t do them at all, but this is so sad and I feel for that girl.

If she really wanted to keep the gimmick, she should make it something like “whoever donates the most/gifts the most subs gets to decide what song I dance to for the last hour of stream or can tell me not to dance” or something more manageable without cutting it all together. 4-6hrs every gift is insane, how do you even get any viewers for non-dancing torture content if that is your entire stream because someone gifted?

Whether it's dancing, horror movies, cock/dog fighting, or voting, there is a large minority (please let it be a minority) of people on this planet that enjoy suffering for sport or entertainment.

The problem with us going extinct is that it won't stop this behavior. It's instinctual in predatory mammals, at least. It's also something I've seen in higher order birds like parrots. This drive/desire cause suffering for fun is not something uniquely human. It's sadly banal.

You put two options there alongside each other like it's a 50/50 chance of both... The chances of someone standing behind the camera holding a gun on her are so incredibly low that it's not worth mentioning... It's more likely to be mental illness or addiction...

She's obviously just continuing to do it because people are throwing loads of money at her for it, at some point she will either stop by choice or will pass out from exhaustion and be taken to hospital. People will do dumb shit for money and attention, that's going to be the most likely explanation for it.

I’ve stumbled upon a few channels where you can essentially shoot marbles (or pellets whatever idk) at a dude who will react in pain to being shot. For fun I tried it but then it kinda made me feel weird, like I know it’s fake and he’s not hurting, but who am I (and who are others) that want to pay for this dude to get “hurt”. Seems like a fine line waiting to be crossed down the track.

Also not a fan of the ones who keep chickens in a tiny cage awaiting a viewer to feed them.

Yeah no I can’t watch it. This is beyond not okay. Reminds me of Rhytm O by Marina Abramovitz- it’s absolutely not similar but I feel the same sick discomfort and horror that gets worse and worse and you know if it doesn’t stop, it will only get worse until it reaches the conclusion. And stopping it is outside of your control, you can only watch, and being an observer is worse than participating, because you are powerless. And just by watching you feel a part of it, like pulling a trigger, and it feels viscerally sickening.

I don’t watch TikTok because Reddit is where I put a stop at, but knowing some of these girls are exploited and forced to perform, and watching this without any background information, just adds a layer of horror.

Pretty sure its inaccurate though, I've seen plenty of these come through my feed and even watch some people more familiar with Chinese livestreaming break them down, weirdly the one who's very sweaty is just sort of an archetype? You see it in men's and women's groups, they swap out with those other women you see in the background regularly.

I've yet to have it explained why sweaty slots in with, "sauve," "mentally unwell," or any of the other popular types, so I assume it's mabye just to bait people into watching?

The real tell is that a version of the archetype also appears in the synchronized walking groups where it makes even less sense for one person to be the sweaty one.

People run 100 hour marathons. Hell, even I when I cycle through continents, I might go 14 hours without rest. Then 2 hours not even sleep. Then 14 hours again.

At festivals I have done 12 hours straight, well needed to take a shower in the middle, too much sweat. 4-6 Hours this? Its nothing.
