In today's CM address in TN assembly, Vijay mocked former CM M.K.Stalin by dragging "we all know the history of MISA & arrest". He showed a hand gesture near his Chin by denoting how Stalin's face got deformed by police attack in custodial torture during Emergency.

Little did this jerk know Emergency was darkest period in post independence India where every political outfits, their functioning, state rights were curbed unlawfully. DMK under Karunanidhi was one among very few parties that resisted the authoritarian regime. Their govt was dismissed, party men were arrested and made through rigorous custodial torture.

More than undermining the struggle it's almost body shaming former CM in assembly which normalises being unemphathitic, rhetorical, not maintaining a decorum among the public especially kids.

95% of the people who come to Sivakasi railway station are locals who can mostly only read Tamil or English

Giving prominence to Hindi over local language in areas where people can't speak or read it is absolute disrespect to the people and their language

- I have admired Vijay deeply since childhood. I was a die-hard fan.
- I even argued (and fought) with close friends whenever they spoke against him.
- Though I was poor, I never missed the very first shows of his movies.
- I eagerly waited for his movie audio releases. Back then CDs were popular, and even though my hostel banned CD players, we secretly bought and listened to them on the first day.
- I was thrilled when he opposed demonetization, supported Jallikattu, and stood with the families of Sterlite victims etc.
- He spoke strongly against BJP, and when he launched his political party, he declared BJP and DMK as his targets. I was proud to see someone take that stand.

- BUT.......

- He acted against his own policies and beliefs.
- He gathered political orphans and leftovers instead of building something new.
- He failed to support his own parents, wife, and children. In public life, personal values matter; otherwise, Kamal would have been a superstar.
- He became the very thing he once promised to fight.
- Karur is a clear example-his actions there show how far he has fallen.

He has turned into something destructive. Please do not support him.

Can you promise us double-digit state growth consecutively like DMK delivered?

TN was the fastest growing state.

We were on track to become the first trillion-dollar state in SGDP by 2031 as part of DMK manifesto.

Can you confidently say that Vijay, this guy with zero governing experience can deliver that for Tamil Nadu?

its very simple. its due to cinema craze. Nothing else can explain this result.

no need to analyse strategically. TN has craze for cinema and cricket but today really shocked me. DMK had its faults but you really want me to believe people voted for TVK for "change". lol. Then they could have voted for NTK.

The ugly truth is cinema addiction / fandom is real and scary. we just got a glimpse of how MGR won the elections back in the day. Hopefully this culture changes for good else we may see sk, pr as future CMs.

TVK will never side with BJP. Yes. Our future CM Vijay has been clear about that.

But…

By breaking Tamizh Nadu away from Dravidian politics and ideology, BJP has already silently won.
They are playing the long game.

After 59 years, the streak of Dravidian governance is broken.

People want change - Yes!
People want better governance - Yes!
People were unhappy with DMK - Sure!

But… we have for the first time in 59 years, strayed away from a unique, cultural, tamizh rooted, C.N. Anna Durai’s vision.

This itself is a victory for BJP!

Usually candidates win a couple of seats in one's first election. Most lose deposit in their first election(looking at you Kamal). This has been the norm.

But look at whats happening.

We are witnessing a historic moment.

TVK is on its way to have a run away victory.

I am beyond stunned.

When a sanghi says Sanskrit is the mother of all Indian languages don't you get pissed? Appo avangallukkum apdi daane irukum?

There's no conclusive proof that Kannada came out of Tamil. At best what we can say is they both came out of a common ancestor but Tamil retains more of the ancestral language. That doesn't in any way mean Kannada came out of Tamil!

He was just like those North Indian chauvinist who think everything came out of Sanskrit's ass. Don't become the chauvinists you're resisting :)

Everyone knows he takes a dig at DMK every chance he gets, but this time it’s coming at the cost of supporting Vijay.
