It starts from college for these guys. I am in a college where there are a lot of Hindi folk and they will simply not switch to English when you are around. They will simply ask "do you understand Hindi at least?" and if i say yes, avalo dhaan, they will be like "then its fine" and continue yapping in Hindi...
The worst part is I have had even Telegu folks ask me why don't I speak in Hindi lol

TBH, people forget that for South India, North Indians are the invaders -- just as the Moguls were invaders to North India.
In North Indian mythology, southern political power is almost entirely erased.
The epics make northern kings heroes and founders of dharma, while offering virtually no southern human kings as equals—the sole exception being Ravan, who happens to be an antagonist. As far as I know, other southern figures appear only as Vanaras, Asuras, or enemies to be defeated.

Lolll.. yes u write tamil/thamizh. U don't write tamilu/tamilai/taimil. Telugu is clearly written and pronounced Te-Lu-Gu not Telegu or Telgu. It's unfortunate this discussion took place in a south Indian sub. I thought only north Indians were like this.

Obviously he is a BJP spokesperson. Why is BJP so adamant about making every Indians speak their North Indian language. Even Congress has realised their mistakes and opposes Hindi imposition in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

Hindi was put fourth as national language by Congress decades ago and that's when many Tamil people fought hard to keep our language. Congress realised their mistake and made peace, bjp is too dumb for that.

Common ? Isn't common is the one language most spoken as far as I know except for 4 states every state speaks Hindi. So it is THE.most common language. But you need validation from English. That's your choice

From an outsiders perspective. Tamilnadu is growing at a double digit growth. It is becoming India’s main manufacturing hub. You guys have planned development across cities, not just like a Banglore. Woman empowerment and even fighting the Center for your fair share. I truly believe if you keep these right wing party out of your state in 10 years you ll lead the nation.

These people won't understand they have already traded their state's language to Hindi it was not problem of communication or language issue but the arrogance and attempted imposition of language because he had option of English but he was so adamant on talking in Hindi creating a sense of some superficial superiority an attempt to convey that you are Hindu or indian only if you talk in Hindi treating other languages as secondary they are doing so they can go anywhere in country and others should understand them but they won't make any efforts to understand the region where they are going. The locals should learn the language they understand but they won't learn the language of locals

North o entire hindi speaking belt la, yella schools la third language sanskrit mattum da. Appo yarume orru useful third language padikelay like marathi, Assamese, Tamil, Malayalam etc.

But south schools la many schools Hindi as third language option kudutha.

If it helps, as a north Indian, i know only 2 languages, hindi and english. And I'm not with imposing any language. We don't have a "Rastrya Bhasha", and we north Indians do accept that fact (at-least the non-dumb ones). This language issue is causing more harm.
I don't want to be forced to speak in Tamil when I visit south. Similarly, I don't expect you to learn Hindi. If you visit north, ppl will make fun of you, but try speaking in english and you'll get to see their humbled faces.
Regarding workplaces, I have worked with ppl speaking different languages, and in good workplaces this sort of discrimination doesn't happen. If it happens with you, my honest opinion would be to change your workplace.
Also, I just want to remind, we're a part of the same culture, this is just shitty politics. Don't get rage bated.

I am placed exceptionally in the this divisive times, as my mother tongue since generations is kannada, my grandfather was born in Tamil Nadu he they moved to U.P. for livelihood they learned hindi as they went on with their life. my parents grew up in U. P. , Iam born and brought up in Hyderabad, 😂 I like to know how languages branch out the similarities differences how tamil kannada telugu sanskrut are related how even bengali is related😂 I'm not exposed to other languages. its sad to see this situation in our country.
if tomorrow I go to a place I don't know the language, and a mob asks me what do I say, I'll learn? please teach me? wtf will happen.

He didn't say people has to do manual work, he advocates for promoting agro-oriented businesses because you can earn a lot from exports because there's demand and you gain self sufficiency. From his initiative a lot of people have moved in this path and found success, I have seen many people posting it online and found it genuine.
And yes as you said, the "%60 of farmers" aren't actually farmers but labour. More and more people are selling their land because they can't find a direction. I aso want to mention that around the world, demand for agriculture labour is only increasing and not oing down as you said it's going to br automated. The billionaires hoarding land are absolutely looking to automate farming but it is not right now.
I don't understand how you are saying it's anti-development. If so, I'd like to know your sources.

I am proud tamizhian. And am avowedly against hindi imposition. But there is an important clarification to be made as I also understand hindi. He says " rashtra ki bhasha" not "rashtra bhasha". The first means "country's language" While the second means "national langauge ". The usage of the former indicates that it is a language of the country and hence denotes pride in speaking it. The same pride can exist for odia, bengali, kannada, telugu and tamizh speakers as they are also the "country's languages".
Secondly. Even if it is an English channel, the moderator is right is extending courtesy to anyone to speak in a language they are comfortable in. If that is hindi that is fair. The same courtesy should also be extended to any other indian language when a guest is invited and speaks a non English language better. Adequate measures for assisting his /her translation should be made.
There are many episodes to oppose language imposition. This episode is not one.

I respect and accept the tamil guy's concern as I am a tamizhan........ I can speak Tamizh, Malayalam, Telugu, Eng ,Hindi and a bit of punjabi....
But what the Hindi person was talking abt.... the 'topic' Is so true.........
everybody is overlooking the topic he is speaking due to the language barrier..... (I mean no support to the guy speaking in hindi based on language), If he had spoken this topic in english, It would have been the best....
