Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, at the 166th session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level in Cairo:

📌 Syria is pressing ahead with the trilateral roadmap agreed with Jordan (the Sept. 2025 Syria-Jordan-US plan to stabilize southern Syria and resolve the Suwayda crisis).

📌 Damascus has integrated armed factions and rebuilt the national army around exclusive state control of weapons, a sovereign, deterrent decision "to protect all Syrians."

📌 Syria remains committed to a diplomatic solution with Israel while working to end Israeli attacks, detentions and incursions into Syrian territory.

📌 Syria rejected Iranian attacks on Gulf states and Jordan during the recent US-Israeli-Iranian conflict.

📌 Syria hopes to be included in Arab funds and development programs in 2027.

Since there's a fair share of Turkmens living in Syria, i wanted to know how people feel about it. And French? It's very out of place and useless. Why French? What did they even do for it? If it was added as an option i'd get it, but replacing it with Turkish?

So I'm returning home finally within a month and I was wondering if there's anything specific I should get that I might need and it might not be available in Syria please lmk y'all, thanks in advance

أنا هالسنة خريج هندسة طبية، ومطلوب مني مشروع تخرج. حابب يكون المشروع إلو فائدة حقيقية للقطاع الصحي بسوريا، سواء للمشافي أو المراكز الصحية أو القرى والمدن اللي عندها نقص بالخدمات.

فحابب أسمع منكم: شو المشاكل الطبية أو المشاكل اليومية بالمشافي اللي بتحسوا فعلًا محتاجة حل هندسي؟ سواء كنت طبيب، ممرض، فني، مهندس أجهزة، أو حتى مريض ومرّيت بتجربة مزعجة أو مشكلة ما إلها حل مناسب.

المهم تكون مشكلة حقيقية موجودة على أرض الواقع، مو شرط تعطوني الحل. نحنا بدورنا بنبحثها ونشوف إذا ممكن نحولها لمشروع تخرج يفيد الناس فعلًا.

Hello everyone! I work for a real estate developer based in Dubai that has recently announced plans to enter the Syrian market.

My question is, can you share the best sources for us to stay on top of key developments impacting the real estate sectors, particularly in Damascus? I’m talking latest launches, prices, regulations, new players coming into the market, etc. I’m going to get a subscription to MEED, but would love to hear your experience as I don’t have any exposure to the Syrian market.

Hi everyone!
I’m visiting Damascus soon for the first time and I’m really excited, but I’m having a surprisingly hard time choosing where to stay.
I’m looking for somewhere central, but not in Old Damascus, with a budget of around $150–200 USD per night max. I’ve done quite a bit of research, and it seems like the options are either fairly expensive places like the Semiramis or Dama Rose, or cheaper hotels where the quality seems to drop off pretty quickly.
I also found a hotel called Queen Centre that looks promising, but I haven’t been able to reach them through any of the phone numbers or email addresses I’ve found online.
I know a lot of hotels in Damascus don’t necessarily have a strong online presence, so I thought I’d ask here in case anyone has recent recommendations or firsthand experience.
My main priorities are cleanliness, a central location, and good service.
Would really appreciate any suggestions!

📌 US envoy Tom Barrack voiced concern over renewed escalation in Suwayda, urged restraint and dialogue, and reaffirmed the US-Syria-Jordan roadmap signed in September 2025 for the province’s reintegration into Syria with full citizenship rights and obligations for its Druze population.

📌 He said armed groups linked to Hikmat al-Hijri’s National Guard are filling the governance vacuum, citing the alleged arbitrary detention and displacement of Druze figure Atef Hunaidi, and called for cooperation between Druze, Arab tribes and neighboring states.

📌 Barrack said force must remain in the hands of the state and welcomed Damascus’s steps toward accountability for crimes committed by its forces during the July 2025 clashes, urging continued justice, security, the return of displaced people and reconstruction.

Hi everyone, i have posted here before about visiting Damascus and going out with a girl (sadly broke up).

So in general i came to say that as a Georgian when i visited you guys treated me increedible one of the best people on planet as far as i have seen and want to say how lovely it was in Damascus.i stayed in Umayyad Square and gotta say for prices there at least as a foreigner it was crazy cheap.

Lol funny moment was when i went to the Aleppo when me and driver got stopped but it turned out nothing crazy they just checked my Visa and Passport and let me go no issues.

To sum up and stop talking too much, i will most definitely come back to Syria again and visit other cities where its safe to go. Forgot to mention before in north i did notice that they have a bit different mentality compared to Damascus but not in any bad way. So cheers to you guys 🇬🇪🇸🇾👌🏻

Hey guys I wanna ask the opinion of students who studied in private universities in Syria which one is the best and I mean by best not only the education aspect but also the treatment in it and how they handle stuff

like a 10 years ago we had syrian neighbour i think we gave them some dessert and when they come to give back the plate they gave us a food it looked like turkish food "içli kofte" the inside was mostly scrambled egg with a little bit mince and it tasted so good. does anyone know the name it just come up to my mind and i want to make it myself

📌 Syria's Interior Ministry said Interpol canceled a 2024 international notice listing 24,511 Syrian passports as stolen.

📌 According to the ministry, the Assad regime had requested the notice in November 2024 after Aleppo's liberation, claiming the passports were stolen from a city immigration center.

📌 The ministry says Interpol's review found the passports had instead been properly issued and delivered to their holders, and that the original theft claim was false.

📌 It said the listing had caused holders to be detained and have passports confiscated in some countries.
