Imagine being mad that people can afford medicine without going bankrupt. Capitalism really needs to chill.

I think the point is that the US pays for all the research into life saving medications and/or treatments and so the cost of said research is passed on to US consumers but other countries like Germany aren't subject to the US patent system and can just make and sell whatever drugs they want using the research bought and payed for by US consumers as assurance that said drugs are safe.

So pharmaceutical companies have no leverage to get consumers in countries like Germany to pay their share for said research.

So, the US is trying to incentivize their "allies" to pay their share for this.

I'm sorry, you must be high or something.

The US does NOT pay for "all" research.

The US government and corporations are only responsible for about 1/3 of biomedical research funding around the world. 2/3 of the research in the field comes from places not the US.

Where did you come up with the delusion that the US pays for everything? And why would you not even do the most cursory of fact checking on such an obviously ridiculous statement?
