Germans largely just turned their heads until the next generation forced stuff to happen. Many were ignoring the reality until their kids or people grew up and they dealt with it

The uncomfortable truth is that nobody tricked the German people into becoming Nazis. Hitler wasn't magic. He literally just stood in front of crowds and told them what they wanted to hear. You can see the same shit in the US today. Anyone that cares already knows what ICE is doing in their concentration camps. And when it's all over no one is actually going to be surprised to find out it's bad. The people who don't care now, won't care later. They're just going to be the same assholes. That's why education is so important.

Im actually a little disappointed in reddit, I don't usually have to scroll nearly this far down to find the terminally online "The US and ICE basically are the same as Hitler and the SS" take. This dumb shit is why i'm here, not for all these normal people opinions.

Upvoted though because unironically calling them concentration camps and comparing them to the German versions will never not be funny.

You know there's a difference between concentratiion camps and extermination camps, right? Not every camp was designed to slaughter people, there were different types.
