Nah, that's an ice cold take. Germans were forced to watch their atrocities after the war ended and vowed never again. Even now their kids grow up watching what Adolf did, and they keep in it that way. The Japanese went denial for almost half a century, but kept trying to better themselves.
Germans largely just turned their heads until the next generation forced stuff to happen. Many were ignoring the reality until their kids or people grew up and they dealt with it
The uncomfortable truth is that nobody tricked the German people into becoming Nazis. Hitler wasn't magic. He literally just stood in front of crowds and told them what they wanted to hear. You can see the same shit in the US today. Anyone that cares already knows what ICE is doing in their concentration camps. And when it's all over no one is actually going to be surprised to find out it's bad. The people who don't care now, won't care later. They're just going to be the same assholes. That's why education is so important.

Except these detention centers are catered to illegals, not just 1 demographic but ANYONE that crosses the border illegally. It just so happens a large demographic are of 1 or 2 ethnicity. You can be Northern European and still get sent to one of these. Plus people detained in these centers are only there until they get deported unless they committed a violent crime or a crime related to drugs/firearms.
No one is being tortured at these detention centers like the camps in WW2
Concentration camps weren’t just for Jewish people, they held all “undesirables”. And your argument that “it isn’t as bad as nazi concentration camps” is terrible. I’ve had friends (overstayed visas, yeah so “violent”) go through the system, it’s brutal. It’s not a hotel stay. What we’re doing is un-American and immoral.
There were concentration camps in nazi germany that didn't exterminate people you know. Some were used as areas to simply hold people and make use of physical labor.
Also there are consistently reports of these ICE "detainment facilities" across the US showcasing dogshit living conditions and frequent enough deaths that they simply stopped heavily reporting about it on mainstream news as it isn't noteworthy anymore.
If you think hand waving these concrete facts with "terminally online" means anything, you are just putting your head in the sand and will be one of the people later who "knew from the start how bad it was" just like the guy you replied to said.
You know there's a difference between concentratiion camps and extermination camps, right? Not every camp was designed to slaughter people, there were different types.
