I bought a PSP 3000, It’s my first time trying a UMD.
Never heard my childhood PSP’s UMD drive (I was only playing MemoryCard games on CFW)

Does this sound normal?
Every game I’ve tested works perfectly so far, I am just worried about the sound it makes.
It sounds a BIT like scratching, but the UMD cannot be scratched.

Should I even worry about this?

I recently started using my unmodded PSP-3000 again and would love to build a little collection of movies, documentaries, music videos, and other interesting stuff to watch on it.

The catch is that I don't have access to a PC. My entire PSP workflow is just my Android phone + PSP — I download my games/files on my phone and transfer them directly to the PSP. Converting videos into the right format for a stock PSP has therefore been pretty difficult for me.

I know I could eventually figure it out myself, but if anyone already has PSP-ready MP4s of classic movies like Spider-Man or The Incredibles, documentaries, music videos, or even random interesting stuff — I'd genuinely appreciate it if you could share some or point me toward a collection. Maybe share a drive link with all that stuff?

I'd especially love to discover some music/videos that other PSP enthusiasts have personally enjoyed enough to keep on their consoles.

I have a retroid pocket 5 and I love it. I have been emulating psp games on it but I have just been having the urge to play it natively despite a smaller screen and worse screen. I also love the idea of UMD even though I would still probably softmod it. I have never owned or even played on a psp before. Though I do collect PlayStation consoles

Is psp worth it over emulation?

I’ve had this idea for a PSP GTA-style game set in San Fierro. You would play as a member of the San Fierro Rifa. I’ve never made a game before and honestly have no idea how to actually make one , but I already have some ideas for the characters, gangs, and map. I just think it would be really cool to see something like this on PSP, so I wanted to share the idea and see if anyone would be interested in it.

So I've been considering modding my psp 1000 by the suggestions of redditers and I looked into my system. Saw that my psp is already modded but it was done like in 2009, according to my dad.
It's current software is 3.71 M33-2
And i want to update it to 6.61 so that I can run ARK 4 on it.
Can I do it still? And if so, how? I'm scared of bricking it and inflicting the wrath of my father.
He said that a friend of his modded it for him and specifically told him not to hook it up to internet

I got a psp ac revelations combo for about 200€. I was wondering if its worth it to get and ips screen and a new battery (both are not broken on mine) and if yes from where should i buy them ?

the PSP is relatively clean and has no issues. Working umd drive and works directly if power. I would like some clarity based on anyone who could share their past experiences

Q1. How hard would it be to fix this without taking the PSP apart?

Is this part generally available or do I have to take it from another doner psp( one of which I have, the display port seems to not work on that one but everything works great, tried switching screens but the screen refuses to come on, might have to swap the motherboard of the doner to make it fully functioning)

Can I do a battery mod?

Have you guys. ever wondered. what it be like. to woke up in 2009. and logging and creating a account on the psp. its like your decades late for the party. i just recently got a psp 3000. everytime. i look at that storefront. i get a bang of missing the party. its like a isolated lonely place. which used to be full of content and players and more

also sometimes i wonder. was there ever a famous last stand of the psp. like with halo 2 and 3ds.

It requires the files within a .iso of the game, the video contains a setup guide towards the end. It's seemingly very early and very much a WIP, and updates are being pushed out every few days. It looks incredibly promising!

I've been working on a native Windows port for a few months now for one of my favorite games from the PSP era, the game fully supports mouse and keyboard, unlimited FPS, various kinds of resolutions and control customization... I'm wasting a lot of time on this side project, you say it's worth continuing? I'd like to make it 100% multiplayer functional as well with mod support.

Camo metal gear PSP3000. Now need to get modding it. Also picked up daxter, a second battery and a psp to hdmi hookup. Have some 128gb mini sd as well. Last battle is motivation.

I bought a new 2400mah battery since the older one was swollen and also bought a new back plate (I wanted it to be the same colour but couldn't find any plate alike)

And now I need to fix it's screen, and that's why I'm here, can you suggest any good brand that makes this kind of screen? Also is there any way to put a IPS panel instead of a regular LCD panel?

I'm planning to also customise this bad girl, might buy a case and screen protector as well

After changing the plastic lens to a glass one on my psp 3004 decided after that to change the buttons from black to red and honestly what can i say totally worth it, even my coworkers started biding on it they wanted to buy it so bad hahaha !! Next up i'm going to install a custom battery on my silver psp 2000 wish me luck. (forgot to mention if you want your psp to look clean and brighter like it's brand new use polywatch bought it from temu it makes difference).

I find my old PSP fatty while I was cleaning up some boxes from attic and give it a try and it actually works. I remember getting it on x-mas in 2005, but never really used it tbh. Now I am about to get some old games to it to pass some time while flying at work. Although I have couple questions about this.

Like is there any other stores than decalgirl where I could get protective skins to this? Their designs are not into my taste, but I want to protect this with some skins since this is in mint conditions with zero scratches.

Then every youtuber is recommending OSTENT batteries to this, are they really better than just "some battery" out of aliexpress?

Where to get good quality protective screen saver? Preferably glass one.

Any other accessories to recommend for travel use?

On my psp 2004 when i try to load something (game, movie etc) it locks on the psp loading screen and the whole console just turns off after 10-40 seconds. The battery is brand new and i dont think that something is broken. The console is modded. I would thank for any help.

Looking to get a physical PSP and I really love the chunky look of a 1000, but I'd love to have the performance of a slim. Does anyone know if this is possible? I'm looking for a good battery, good screen (I've seen the IPS + HDMI mods), with a good premium feel. I also really like the eject for UMD's that the 1000 has, but idk if that'd work with the 2000 swap that I'm thinking of...
