Transgender topic [Please read]

Upvotes

The topic of transgender people has completely flooded this sub and that’s not what we’re here for. We are here for healthy discussions about hot takes. Wanting to take rights away from a group of people is not a hot take. Trans people are people who are just doing their own thing. Some have faked being transgender for certain reasons, but most others are genuine.

A man pretending to be gay in order to get close to women is not a good man, but he also doesn’t represent the entirety of the gay community. Same with the trans cases.

There will be people who you find stupid and weird and disgusting, but you have no right to say despicable things to them. Legally, yes you have free speech. But have some morals and decorum.

Transgender posts are now restricted to this space only. Do not report people who calmly say they disagree with your beliefs. Only report those who are insulting.

Many english teachers in Asia are just low-skilled westerners looking for a cop out.

Upvotes

As an American living in Asia, I've come to the conclusion that the english teaching industry tends to attract people who simply aren't very smart or successful. You kinda see it across all asian countries except for Singapore. On an individual level, I admit it makes sense. It's all about opportunity cost, but there's definitely a trend that if you aren't successful in your home country whether it's the UK, US, Canada, Australia, you can kinda coast in Asia by just being an English teacher.

serious hot take theres 0 excuse as an adult man for you to lack basic knowledge of the female body

Upvotes

I have ran into so many men who are completely unaware of female anatomy. barring the whole "men cant find the clit" jokes, theres also the amount of men ive met who dont understand how periods work, the reproductive system, or even what the urethra is.

and every time this gets brought up, the argument becomes "they didnt teach us in school!!", but im sorry, do you lack any curiosity? do you lose the ability to retain more information after you graduate high-school? have you seriously never thought "maybe i should Google this"?

casual hot take Some dress codes feel targeted towards thicker girls

Upvotes

Here’s my reason: I’ve noticed a lot of thicker girls back when I was in school were getting so targeted and it genuinely pinched my nerves and hurt. Here’s a real life quick story I experienced.

I was walking with my friends who are just skinnier than me and we were matching and guess what I get called over because my outfit was “inappropriate” and guess what my friends didn’t get in trouble the whole day.
It just felt like they were calling my body shape inappropriate and it made me really sad because when I was younger I didn’t even know what I did wrong. And till this day I see girls younger than me getting dress coded for having a body and even girls older than me or around my age.

IMPORTANT: if you think I’m talking about girls who don’t follow the dress code you’re missing the point. I’m talking about when girls get treated differently for wearing the same thing just because of their body.

casual hot take if you chronically underdress for events, I assume youre a slob.

Upvotes

I dont even particularly consider myself the type to overdress for anything. I keep a collection of nice-ish dresses and shirts to throw on before going out somewhere.

But if youre someone who constantly and habitually underdresses for events or places (Wearing sweatpants to a semi-decent steakhouse or a old, stained shirt to an event for example) i am going to look at you and assume youre a slob who doesnt care about their appearance whatsoever. There is 0 reason why you are incapable of putting on a newer tshirt or a pair of jeans.

Not all religions are the same

Upvotes

Some religions are more violent, evil, and detached from the truth than others. Someone committing a terrorist attack in the name of their god is not the same as a monk who thinks that all life is sacred.

I'd go even as far as to say that not all religions labeled "Abrahamic" are the same. For example: I often see atheists conflate Christianity and Judaism with Islam. Now, I'm not here to say that Islam in particular is or isn't worse than the two others—lest this post gets taken down—but it's treated as a self-evident truth (especially on Reddit) that if Islam is bad, then Christianity and Judaism must be equally as bad. That simply doesn't follow.

casual hot take Children don’t cut off their parents for no reason

Upvotes

I always take it with a huge grain of salt whenever a parent says their child went no contact for no reason. You’re telling me the child you raised from birth seemingly wants absolutely nothing to do with you for…no reason? firstly, not how children really work, secondly, more than likely, you are the problem. I know some people will say well every situation is different, and yeah that’s absolutely true and there’s no doubt this does happen, but it is very rare.

casual hot take Tiktok should've been banned.

Upvotes

Good god the world would be so much better. Think of it. Less misinformation, less viral content, better attention spans. Also they wouldn't be defending a woman who killed her kids. Fuck I hate tiktok. How's yalls day btw

Modern Family Guy fans are annoying as fuck

Post image
Upvotes

I've never met a more insufferable group of western animation, besides the communities for indie TV shows. These people are SO fucking annoying because they want to be edgy so bad but are too pussy to actually be it.

casual hot take The black pill actually makes you more prejudiced and they hate ugly people the most

Upvotes

I say this as someone who sort of fell into the black pill rabbit hole about a year ago.

"Your looks matter more than anything and if you're ugly you will suffer"

Even if true, I started blaming all my problems on my looks. Any negative interaction with people is because of my appearance, any positive interaction is because of pity. And as a result, I started to look down on others who were "ugly" . Ironically, I became more judgmental which is exactly what I was supposed to be against?

I eventually escaped the rabbit hole. I realized that while my appearance affects my life, I still seem to have positive interactions with most people. And I don't really care if other people are ugly or not. So they probably don't care if I am, either.

But blackpillers hate ugly people the most. I'll see BP influencers actually crash out if they find out an attractive woman is dating an ugly dude. "Why would you date someone who isn't your looksmatch???"

Black pillers are the ones saying your life is over if you have a slightly big nose and you NEED plastic surgery. They're the ones saying you can't be successful if you're not good looking. Meanwhile I go outside and it just isn't true? I wouldn't want to be friends with a BPer, because I'd be afraid that they secretly think I'm subhuman

Thoughts?

Women are not overly emotional and men are not overly emotional. We’re all human and have emotions

Upvotes

Why does this have to be a hot take in today’s society. Women have emotions and some of those women don’t know how to effectively regulate those emotions. Some of those women even do mean or bad things due to not being able to regulate their emotions. Men have emotions and some of those men do mean or bad things due to not being able to regulate their emotions. There. No need to hate the other gender for emotions because hot take, both men and women have emotions and both genders have to learn how to regulate those emotions in order to be healthy. Crazy.

casual hot take Being alone is awsome.

Upvotes

I can do what i want or go wherever i want without being emotianally tied down to someone else. There is no expectations put on you by someone else. You can spend all the money you make on yourself. If i crave sexual intimacy i can just pay for it.

Powerade is better than Gatorade

Upvotes

Idk if this is a hot take but since Gatorade is massive i’m guessing it is.

My reasoning for this is:

  1. it tastes better than Gatorade, even its worst flavor isint that bad.

  2. A normal bottle is 28 oz, same as a large Gatorade bottle.

  3. it costs 2.15 dollars

serious hot take Coart should be faceless and voiceless for the prosecution and the defense

Upvotes

The people in the case should stay completely anonymous so that the only thing people see are the facts of the case and not the race, gender, sexuality, etc. unless it's absolutely necessary for the case.

This way, the Lindsey Clancy situation won't happen. If people just saw that there were three children who were murdered because of mental issues allegedly from post partum depression, her case would have ended the exact same way as Chad Doerman who also murdered his three kids due to mental problems from PTSD.

Of course there are exceptions when it comes to someone being recorded somewhere else during, but it should still be the default to not have their identity known. Men receive 63% longer prison sentences than women for the same crimes. Women are also twice as likely to avoid being incarcerated when they are convinced of a crime, but if you don't know if it's a man or a woman, you can't sentence the person based on their gender.

casual hot take if you have one of those ultrasonic sound devices on your lawn to "keep away animals", you suck

Upvotes

I just took a walk and passed by 2 houses which had these stupid, high frequency producing boxes in the front lawn, and theyre the WORST THING

Not only does it freak out every dog that walks past the damn lawn, but it also hurts like hell for anyone who passes who happens to have half decent hearing. And makes it so kids in the neighborhood sure as hell aren't wanna go outside, with that bs constantly in their ears

just because YOU cant hear the stupid and infuriating sound, doesnt mean that nobody else can.

serious hot take Economy today when Inflation outpaces real wage growth for decades is not some quirky thing or necessary to reality like laws of physics like gravity , its PROGRAMMED VIOLENCE AGAINST WORKING CLASS. Every time a crash happens working class loses real estate and assets , upper classes get bailouts.

Upvotes

Everwhere you look at american society there is this myth of making it on your own.

leave parents home as fast as possible take debt for college , make something of your career , compete against everyone in the market and when economy crashes you are programmed to work shit jobs just to pay off debt.

What about the rich themselves though?

Do they leave parents home as fast as possible? Do they take debt to go to college? most importantly do they ever compete in free market?

the answer to all is no, they dont. they collude and fix both stock market and take monopolies in business.

so individualism for poors and socialism for the rich.

you cant keep up? you are cooked , get on ssris and take whatever job possible

elites gambled too hard in their own casino? your tax money is bailing them out.

i dont get how there are so many guns in usa and there has not been something done about the system , the hell are the guns for?

casual hot take TikTok ruined society

Upvotes

Or maybe it didn’t, maybe it’s just that people are so good at not thinking for themselves. It is SO easy for some random person to post a video talking about something so off the wall with NO credible sources to back it up and so many people just believe it!

I had an ex that would tell me certain things and I’m like where did you hear that from? “Oh I saw it on TikTok”

“Did you actually research this to make sure it’s accurate?”

“No”

🙄🙄🫩🫩

I mean at what point do we start to actually use our brains guys? We’re doomed

casual hot take People who get annoyed at people for doing exactly what a subreddit is meant for are ironically the most annoying ones.

Upvotes

I recently joined this subreddit, and I’m seriously confused by some of the people on here. My impression of this subreddit was that someone gives a hot take, and you either counterargue it, agree with it, etc. I’m not trying to police what anyone does but like… the people who respond with “who cares,” “omg, just ignore it,” “whatever,” and other dismissive or insulting comments are just weird to me. It doesn’t make you look cool or unbothered.

This subreddit is literally for hot takes, so why are you getting annoyed that someone is giving one? Someone will post the most casual hot take clearly just for fun, and the comments will be filled with people insulting the OP. No wonder this subreddit is starting to get filled with weird incels, you’re scaring away people with harmless hot takes. And the logic is so backwards. They tell people “If you don’t like it, just scroll,” while they could literally do the exact same thing and scroll past the hot take if they don’t care. Nobody is forcing you to agree but getting offended by the existence of a hot take in a subreddit specifically made for hot takes is definitely a choice.

Hot take, not everything is fat phobia, and second hot take, be nice to morbidly obese people but encourage changing if you actually care, I'm talking about those who can control their weight

Upvotes

Okay, my hot take comes from a place of concern, not hatred or disgust. YOU SHOULDN'T: shame them, that's not something you should do, YOU SHOULD; gently encourage them to change, I can't believe that this is a hot take, people will somehow take offense to this, gently encouraging someone to loose weight isn't fat phobia,

casual hot take I'm a huge nerd/gamer and I think the majority of gamers are insufferable.

Upvotes

Why do they all have to be elitist twats with the biggest god complex I've ever encountered? PC gamerrs being the worst, like I cannot fathom thinking I'm cooler than anyone else because I have an expensive PC and can experience better grophics than a console player. Genuinely who cares? Gaming is suppsoed to make people happy and let them have fun and all these nerds are so mad when people enjoy something in a way thats not as fancy as the way they enjoy it. The slang they all use to talk to each other and other gamers is also cringe as hell, you are a grown man calling kids online stupid names. Also throwing literal temper tantrums when their new game doesn't get 6000 fps on their 5 year old graphics card, again, you're a grown adult human being. Its going to be okay. Just go play your little games and shut up.

casual hot take Marketing people are overall a net negative for society

Upvotes

Their whole purpose is to convince people to buy stuff they didnt originally want. This causes people to consume more, which takes a bigger toll on the natural resources of the planet.

serious hot take It’s OK to have preferences in regard to what/whom your attracted to

Upvotes

It’s OK to have preferences in regard to what/whom you’re attracted to. What’s NOT okay is imposing it on people who don’t meet that preference of yours and making them feel bad for not meeting that standard. A lot of people don’t realize the very real line between liking/preferring curvy girls, and imposing that preference onto loads of women. There has always been extremely high beauty standards for.. yes.. EVERYONE. You can prefer skinny girls, you can prefer big girls, you can prefer chubby girls. It’s OK to have that preference. You prefer white girls then u prefer white girls, you prefer black girls then u prefer black girls, you prefer a freaking unicorn then you prefer a freaking unicorn. I think a lot of the time people get mixed up between imposing your preference and having a preference. Yes you can simply turn away people you are not attracted to/aren’t your preference. What you CAN’T do is tell them to go meet that preference of yours. “You’re not skinny enough” is a prime example of what is NOT okay. “You’re not someone I am attracted to” IS okay. Let’s break it down. It’s okay to like thin/skinny girls but make sure you don’t shame the one’s who don’t meet that preference. When you say “you’re not someone I am attracted to” it does not impose that the person is any less than, it is simply saying that they are not someone you are looking for.

Sorry for the rant ya’ll I just feel like people with maybe specific preferences get hated on a lot. Hate the people who shame somebody for not meeting their preference, don’t hate on the people who simply enjoy one thing over the other.

serious hot take Someone’s wife doesn’t always know what’s best for them…

Upvotes

I am so sick of people telling me that I should respect my grandmother’s wishes where my grandfather is concerned. She outright refuses help for my grandfather and even the nurses and doctors are sick of her. Because she refuses help from myself of my mother my grandfather fell and was taken to a trauma center. She said accidents happen and refuses to take any sort of accountability. My family has made it clear that I have no right to criticize what she is doing because my grandfather is “her husband.” This woman tells the world she refuses to allow a helper to come into her home because she doesn’t need anyone “taking advantage of her husband.” She says this, and yet when I walked into the hospital I saw her attempting to feed him and telling him to, “eat your f*cking food god dammit.” I think she is being performative in her “care” for my grandfather and I feel that she sometimes neglects him for her needs.

I am sick to death of people telling me that that harpy knows what is best for him. Sometimes a wife doesn’t know what’s best for her husband and I think she is unfit to care for him. I have already drafted a report for APS, but I am terrified to submit it simply because of the fallout. That said, my grandfather is my world and I cannot let him get hurt again because she refuses help.
