Maybe I'm missing something simple, but I've already tried everything, saving from Illustrator. I've uploaded images at 1400 pixels wide, 2800 pixels wide, and 4200 pixels wide. I've tried both JPEG and PNG, and the optimal size is also under 5 MB, but something's still wrong. On the computer, the photos are of good quality, even in draft mode, but when publishing, the quality becomes poor, even with vector graphics.

je commence toujours avec de bonne intention et inspiration mais à la fin je suis rarement satisfait, et surtout j'ai l'impression que j'essai juste de combler tout l'espace que l'emballage peut prendre (très humain en effet) sans logique. Des conseils?

Hey, I’m 20 years old entering the final year of my design degree. I’m stuck in a weird part of my career and already feel like I’m set up to fail once my degree is finished :/

My work the past year has been pretty meh, and I’ve been submitting pieces for assignments that I just don’t believe are good in the slightest. I feel like I’ve lost my creative aspect and motivation to do anything design related which is a shame as this is the field I’ve always wanted to work in, so I’m asking a professional designer, do I lack the basic skills and ability to become a full time designer or/ how do I get over this stump of not having the motivation what want to design.

Any conversations or replies will be very valuable to me :).

But then I saw a woman tell a girl, probably in her 20s

.. wearing a strap kurti “Chunni le lo, cover kar lo”

A little later, a man pointed this out to another woman wearing a fulls sleeve kurti and asked her to cover herself too....

And I just stood there wondering

what exactly is considered “appropriate” here???

Please help. graphic designing will help or should I keep continuing my writing opinions, magazines articles, newspaper internship then I switch to photojournalism after purchasing Camera. I know both writing and graphic basics but want to dedicate 1-2 years 100% so I can earn a better amount. I can't focus much on screen but as will grow I will hire people and do designing on paper. I also do not want to work for only marketing companies because they exploit resources. So I want to use my skills for those who are working in environment movement or if not , then sustainable product companies
1. should I learn graphic design so can help in photography and film directing?
2. Can leverage graphic designing for provoking human minds on pollution, global warming, human rights, etc. which add values in my life along with decent money. So no giant companies hunger I have.
3. If I can what skills I can leverage?
4.or keep writing I believe a book, research paper, film keep you alive in human history while selling time for ephermeal money is wastage because Time Value> Money for me at least??

Please help, If any like minded are I want to remain connected forever without any national boundaries fear.

Hello, I am a HS senior who’s wanting to learn ID to get into toy design or product design. I have seen the new Chat GPT ASTRA and the meshy AI on my feed and am worried on the state of designers in general. How has AI affected your work, studies, or Jobs. What do we think about using them in practice or portfolios since it will get more common place?

This project by Donald Guenard called “A Room for Echoes” is a collection of steel furniture designed for solitary study and reflection, inspired by the Neoclassical funerary.architecture.

I’m currently working as an account manager at a small design studio in Shanghai. We mainly do packaging design, and sometimes we do branding and KV projects. I have been  in this industry for 10 years since graduation. After AI tools showed up, I expected the work to get lighter and get more efficient. Unfortunately, it didn’t. And our job actually goes harder. 

From this year, I’m quite surprised that the concept phrase time is compressed a lot - from two weeks to one week - by both big global companies and local ones. At the same time, they are looking for a design with lower quotation and higher quality. 

For example, this year we joined two important annual pitches for well-known global companies we have been working with for many years (I can’t name them because of the contract). In China, these pitches are unpaid, which is pretty normal. Both were split into a technical bid and a commercial bid. After we were told we hadn’t made the vendor pool, our director had the calls with procurement. According to procurement team, they said we were at the front on the technical side, but our quote was higher than the others. The uncomfortable part is that our fee for these two clients was already lower than it was one years ago. In addition, procurement more or less indicated that many agencies are cutting prices further because they claim higher AI involvement.

In the wider market here, that belief is everywhere. Many global companies ask their in-house team to use AI as much as possible. Many AI-generated images go straight to e-commerce pages, with little attention to quality or copyright. Clients talk about AI as if it were an all-purpose machine: hundreds of good designs in a moment, so an agency no longer needs time to understand the brief. Yes, visualization is faster but they are not design with proper concepts or rationale inputs. Still, the designers need time to fine-tune details, check print resolution, and make sure final images are usable and properly licensed.

The worst case is when a client provides or falls in love with an AI image. That picture becomes the brief. If we change it to make it legal and printable, they often don’t buy in the new version — because it is no longer “their” image.

Based on my experience, AI hasn’t lowered the workload. On the other hand, it becomes a convenient reason to cut budget and compress delivery time, which makes, at least, our job even harder that pre-AI era.

That’s why I want to ask how is packaging design industry in your countries and what’s your perspectives on AI’s role in the everyday work.
