Tzu Pics 📷 (no AI) Should I get my Tzu another Tzu???
So Miss Phoebe is almost 8 months old, and her just had another litter two days ago. I got really excited about the aspect of possibly having half siblings, but I am still kind of on the fence about it. This little diva goes with me everywhere, I take her to work everyday, and she LOVES people. (I work at a vet) She gets to play with coworkers dogs around her size, and she loves it. But I’m not sure if she would want to be a big sister. I’ve been thinking of all the pros and cons of having two. I wouldn’t want Phoebe to be sad and think we’re replacing her because we aren’t, someone to keep her company would be nice.
If I were to move forward with getting a sibling, would I have to get a separate pen? She has a play pen with her kennel in it (door open all of the time) so she can either be in her bed or out and about at night time with access to her food (she’s a night eater), some water and an emergency pee pad. The play pen is next to our bed so she knows we are right there.
I know having two would be double the work as having one, and will be more expensive. Especially grooming (she hates when I do anything to her but is fine at the groomers), and I have been blessed with a picky eater. What in the world would I do with two? Reading one dogs mind is hard enough, let alone two. I would love to have a house full, but I also know it’s a huge responsibility and I’m trying not to let my want of having two control the logical and practicality of it. Here’s the Shih Tzu picture tax

Tzu Pics 📷 (no AI) Update on Luna
I slept on the couch last night with Luna in case she needed out or had any accidents in the house, I'd rather it was on hardwood than the carpet.
She did throw up in the middle of the night so I was still concerned. Trying to get her meds into her this morning was incredibly difficult, she didn't cooperate at all. All my usual tricks failed. She wouldn't even open her mouth.
She did eat some chicken and rice last night but absolutely refused to this morning and didn't drink either so I thought we were headed back to the vets. I phoned them and they said to syringe her what I could and just wait until tomorrow for the meds to work unless she gets worse.
A bit later we went outside for a pee and its close to her grandmas (a 30 second walk) so we stopped in there and she took some treats! Just 2 small beef ones so I was like thats a good sign!
We got back home and I tried again with the chicken and rice but seperate this time and she ate the chicken! Then she drank some water, I was so relieved! Still wouldn't touch the rice though. A few hours later I offered her the rice and chicken seperate again and she ate just the chicken but that's OK. She also drank again and seems to have more energy.
She used her buttons to say she wanted out so I think she's on the mend, thank God. I was seriously so worried about her. My stepdaughters dog was acting the same (a few years ago) and ended up needing surgery with a 22K vet bill 🥴. Ours was only $845 🙃
Thanks again everyone for the well wishes, they truly meant a lot to me and Luna.

Tzu Discussions and Stories 🐶 My little boy here hates me brushing his hair
My boy Quby is 6 months old. I've been with him since he was born. So around the time he grew hair I used to practice small sessions of brushing him, hoping that he will accept it better in the future.
But looks like all that was in vain. Since the time he's turned 4, he has gotten aggressive. I only brush him once a week. But he hates it. Tries to bite me hard. (he never otherwise does) and run away.
I've tried very very soft brushing. He just wouldn't let me touch him. I've tried with treats. He eats and then still bites me. Seems like he really really hates it.
I take him for grooming and haircut every month. But nonetheless think that I should continue brushing every week at least to spot ticks if any.
How do y'all brush your Tzu? Give me tipssss please.

Tzu Discussions and Stories 🐶 How can something so small be so loud?
Last night while I was sleeping. I got woken up by snores. That sounded like they were coming from a 300lb man. Who just did a 18 hour shift. The problem is I don't sleep next to a 300lb man. I sleep next to a 15lb man who doesn't have a job. So, I gave him a quick nudge, and went back to sleep.

Tzu Discussions and Stories 🐶 What temperature do your ShihTzus prefer jackets?
When it gets colder at what point does putting a jacket on them make it easier to go outside for your ShihTzus?
With Sparrow if it’s 14C (57F) she’ll avoid going outside unless she really has to go to the bathroom.
But with Finch he’ll happily go outside down to -25C (-13F)

Tzu Pics 📷 (no AI) 16 year and 1/2 old Kyro
Kyro is a 16 years and half shih tzu doggo from Spain, one month ago he was standing more less ok, one blind eye, a bit deaf, his legs already failing but he has started to cough a bit heavier and frequently than he was doing. It seems he will start to heavy breath more and more, so the vet already recommended to have in mind considering that he might need soon help to rest forever.
He has been for me the best dog in history. Like yours must have been for you. Shih tzus are the best, I couldnt imagine better friend these 16 years. 😁
