I’m making this post to purely educate and bring awareness to people who haven’t heard of ALPRs (Automated License Plate Readers - A.I Powered Surveillance) at all.

I’m sure some of you have heard of Flock cameras that have been installed all over the USA right now.. most people aren’t aware that they are being installed around the Waterloo Region and GTA under a different brand. These cameras are most commonly used at the 407 tolls.

Im sure these cameras have made an impact on preventing crimes and finding criminals. Although, I think it’s important to know that your data will be stored for local authorities to access at any time. Having a risk for misuse, if in the wrong hands.

Wondering what the locals feel during the influx of uni students. Is it even noticeable? KW is pretty big but much smaller than my home city so every year i come back i wonder if there are any significant changes when this time of year rolls around

He had an electric unicycle with a toilet built around it, toilet paper waving in the wind and what looked to be a poo helmet. Saw him on Albert St, if you see this you made my day!

So on saturday I was on the 10:48pm go train to kitchener from union, coming back from watching the air show. Between around 10:40 to 10:48 a person walking by me in the train car wearing a grey sweater (maybe with a small red logo on the back of it) and black pants spat on me, i took a second to realize what even happened, i said some expletives and got up to yell at the person but they never stopped walking away and i only saw their back. I had some valuables and there were people between me and them at that point so i had to just let it go. But that fucking sucked.

Keep an eye out and if you have seen this person/see a person in the future doing something like this press the yellow strip and at least confront them enough to get a good look at them then call/notify the police/Go authorities. I was just taken aback and only texted the help line but that wouldn't help with actually catching someone like this.

In hindsight this was probably a hate crime, I was the only east asian looking person on the train and it doesn't seem like they spat on anyone else. This spitting thing seems to be a thing that happens to minorities in and around toronto. Not sure where this guy went or which station he got off at.

This isnt the first time i've had to deal with these kinds of insane people and I'm getting fucking sick of it. I keep thinking i should have ran up to them to beat their ass but the police i just talked to told me i did everything i really should have done. It still fucking sucks

TriCity Improv is back, with another great improv show in support of our local community theatre.

The show is this coming Saturday (September 12th) at KW Little Theatre. Tickets are just $10 at the door, but you can also reserve a spot using Eventbrite. All the profits from the show are being donated to KWLT.

mercedes mildly cut off/passed it earlier but wasn't much... got the rear plate later.

I have done several times to the market and usually just pick up whatever random things catch my eye. Recently I tried the apple fritters and now I make a point to pick up a box everytime I go.

It made me wonder what other tried and true gems I’m missing out on.
