I was already planning on getting MPG-17 this September, but the sad passing of a legend made me feel it was even more warranted.

Though I started my love of transformers with Beast Wars, it wasn’t long before Optimus became my favorite character and even a role model (as he is for many). He helped solidify the ideas from my dad and others to be, in my dads words, “a gentle badass”, someone who is strong because they are capable, but kind, strong enough to be gentle. And I know Peter and Optimus both will continue to be role models for many for years to come.

As for MPG-17, I wasn’t quite sold on the “gundam” styling he had, but I loved that he’s sort of an homage to different toys and iterations of the character, and I had heard great things about the figure.

Other than a few small gripes like his hands not holding the bayverse blades firmly enough, and maybe wanting a bit more friction on the ab crunch joint, he’s an outstanding figure.

Only thing I’m aware of that’s metal is the matrix, which feels great in hand (almost want to incorporate it into a necklace somehow), but he’s great to handle. Other than a certain minor areas, I’ve no fear of posing him or transforming him and breaking something. Good or great tolerances and joint stiffness throughout, and has an awesome aura in almost any pose you put him in. Also really nice that you can store all of his accessories on him in both vehicle and bot mode pretty compactly.

I think he’s more of a $150 figure, but given modern prices, he was certainly worth the $200, I recommend this to anyone that wants a solid masterpiece Optimus Prime.

Mine is this studio series hatchet, idk if it’s just my figure but the fenders on the arm pop out ever second and make fixing the back flush damn near impossible, this is the best I could do after about 15 minutes of struggling I did it without instructions like I do most but holy this was a pain. The vehicle mode is so good in my opinion for how hatchets robot mode looks but damn the transformation

I know my sister is probably going to look for a figure I want for Christmas, and I figured that would be a good time for her to try and track what can be my first commander class. As much as I wanted something like 86 prime, I know it’s probably be a little difficult to track down, so I’ll have it go between these two since they’re newer. Between the two, should she go for onslaught or Jetfire?

I got the new hidden style of the Blokees Rodimus but I really don’t know anything about this style he wears. Anyone know anything? Is it good?

The collection begins! I bought this guy online on the fifth and he just got here today! Took awhile to build him but it was WORTH IT!! Ironically enough, Transformers 2007 was the first Transformers movie I ever (remember) saw, and what got me into Transformers in the first place! so him being my first ever purchase is oddly sweet in my books, He looks so cuuute oh my god! (Plz ignore my messy backgrounds, I live in a cramped studio apt with my grandfather atm.)

Nothing will ever make me overlook this. Why did they do this? Why on earth did they do this? What was the point of this? Whose idea was this? And this was after TJ Miller’s character was being creepy and called Tessa (the teenager) a hot teen. Like, what was the point of this.

I cannot enjoy a movie where one of the main protagonists is a sex offender. I just cannot. It makes me feel so gross, especially when they show him and Tessa kissing.

I was driving home from a trip and was driving past my local shop and decided to drop by, turns out they still had a G1 bruticus and I decided to pick it up! He has so much charm to him and I am so happy to have him in my collection.

People are buying the new big fig before the displays are even made at target and reselling it for 300-500% markups. I’m so unbelievably done with scalpers, it’s ruined other hobbies for me and now it’s ruining this one too
