Solved [TOMT] Song with lyrics "I don't give a fuck," or "fuck you," in the chorus, which is set to the tune of a classic, catchy 90s pop/rock song?

Upvotes

I can't remember WHICH 90s song they ripped the melody from, maybe something by the Offspring? But it's one of those 90s songs that was super overplayed and *everyone's* heard. Only the lyrics are replaced with a lot of profanity about fuck you/fuck this/fuck everything/not giving a fuck.

Open [TOMT] Cartoon character with a Brooklyn accent who says "It works!" ("It woiks!")

Upvotes

My high school comp sci teacher (around 60 years old, so grew up in the 1950s–60s) used to say "It works!" in an exaggerated Brooklyn/Bronx accent — "It woiks!" — whenever our code ran. Guessing it's a catchphrase from an old cartoon (maybe a mad scientist or tough-guy type), likely from the Looney Tunes/Warner Bros era or similar. Any idea what he was imitating?

Open [TOMT] [MOVIE] that movie I barely remember that keeps me awake

Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I've been searching for this movie for what feels like forever, and now I'm starting to think that maybe I'm getting it mixed up with other films. But here's everything I can recall about it, and hopefully someone can help me figure out what's going on.

The story is about a teenager, a girl, who finds out she has some really cool powers. I think she can see and hear things that are really far away, way better than normal people. Her senses are, like, super sharp. She eventually joins a group of five teenagers, each with a different ability.

I remember some of them being stereotypical high school characters:

- a nerdy boy with glasses who can control insects (or at least bees). At first he thinks it's disgusting because insects keep following him everywhere, before realizing it's his power.

- a popular blonde girl who often wears the color pink and has a bit of an intimidating reputation.

- a handsome/popular guy.

- the main girl.

They spend a lot of time training to master their powers. Some scenes I remember:

* The nerd is trying to teach bees to lift a brick as part of their training, but things don't go as planned and he ends up losing control, causing the brick to fall.

* The main girl has to focus on hearing one specific conversation among many others as part of her training.

* In a different scene, she and her boyfriend show up at a warehouse, which is secured by a keypad. Earlier on, she had caught a glimpse of someone punching in the code from a distance, thanks to her exceptional eyesight, and it had stuck with her. Now, as she enters the code with ease, her boyfriend is left stunned, having no clue how she managed to figure it out. He looks at her with a mix of surprise and curiosity, wondering how she pulled it off. The keypad beeps, and the door unlocks, allowing them to slip inside, leaving her boyfriend's questions unanswered, at least for the time being.

* I think her boyfriend is a normal guy and doesn't know she has powers, which creates tension because she starts acting strangely. I'm not 100% sure it's a movie. It could have been:

- a TV movie,

- a teen TV series,

- or even a direct-to-DVD production. Things I have already checked and ruled out:

**Bug Me Not! ( 2005)**

* **Tower Prep**

* **Nowhere Boys**

* **Lab Rats**

* **Sky High**

* **The Darkest Minds**

* **I Am Number Four**

* **The New Mutants**

* **Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children**

Does anything about this sound familiar to you? Maybe just one of these scenes is ringing a bell? I'd really love to hear any ideas you might have, no matter how small they seem.

Solved [TOMT] Looking for a movie/TV show/short film with a really weird dinner scene

Upvotes

Hey guys! I’ve been trying to find this movie, TV show, or short film for a while, but I honestly can’t remember which one it was.
The only scene I remember is a family sitting down for dinner in their dining room. At first, everything looks normal, but as the camera pulls back/widens, you realize the mother is lying on the table and the family is actually eating part of her leg. 😳
I vaguely remember the scene ending with the mother smiling, or at least looking happy about it.
I know that’s not a lot to go on, but it’s literally all I can remember. If this sounds familiar to anyone, I’d really appreciate any leads!
Thanks!

Open [TOMT] Where is the quote “Show me the monkey!”, “Money, it’s money.” from?

Upvotes

I’m from the US. I think it’s from an early 2000s kid show or movie but can’t remember. There’s two characters in the scene, and one’s kinda ditzy and the other is deadpan in the reply to them. I’ve searched for years trying to find the scene or even a smidge of this line and can’t find anything. Please help, it’s been stuck in my head for so long.

Open [TOMT][CLAYMATION/STOPMOTION][2020S] weird eerie claymation of blue guy

Upvotes

So, i was watching Shaii valleys "Obscure Lost Media From the Internet" and i stumbled on isaivoid's post and i felt a sense of familiarity, because i got reminded of a video i stumbled on a discord link or Youtube when i was searching for something else in late 2023 to 2024 if i remember correct.

it was a claymation similar to the one in isai's post although it was abit different. it was a humanoid bluish figure i think if im not misremembering and it has a black top hat and croocked teeth, similar to the indie game "The man in the window" although the body is stubbier. i remember the layout was in a bathroom aswell or a bedroom, he walked outside and there was bloody clay bodies everywhere and it was very detailed since it had fat (yellow clay) so the creator mustve had knowledge on it. so it freaked me out. i dont remember it in full since i freaked out and immediately clicked off.

the only thing i remember is that the pfp of the uploader has curly hair, and i do think i went to the rabbit hole of the creator and he was mentally unwell and he was problematic, but i have no idea what the name is, i think it was something food or cat related, but i forgot shortly after.

if anyone knows or has a suggestion, please let me know.

Solved [TOMT] 80’s pop song where the singer goes “way” four times and sings some stuff, but then is followed by a violin/sax-like synth with 8th note pattern (ACEG, rest, ACEG, rest, ACE) then GAG in quarter notes, repeats same pattern again before ending with ECA instead.

Upvotes

I’m so sorry for the long title, I feel like this was a relatively popular 80’s song but it’s escaping me! It’s literally an ear worm that has been bugging me for the longest time.

Male singer sounds like typical new wave/80s pop singers of the era if that helps! He also might not be saying “way” lol

Open [TOMT] book/short story about a family narrated by a tree in their garden

Upvotes

The first sentence was something like “I was planted outside the (family name) house the day (man’s name) died.” I believe I read this in the early 2000s, and i’ll periodically remember it ever since!

Not sure if this context is helpful, but i believe the excerpt i read was in an elementary school educational book about writing

Open [TOMT] [BOOK] Book about a woman who doesn't trust herself, and requests to be locked in her room every night.

Upvotes

I only remember anecdotes from the book, not the complete plot. (I think the book was told in self contained stories though?)

The book told the story of a woman. She has a mother, who has an unspecified mental condition, and it is maybe implied the protagonist has the same condition?

The book includes moments of her life from a young age to around her mid 20's.

The scenes I remember are:

She observes her classmates getting picked up from school, and tries to mentally distance herself from the scenario, to see it as a complete outsider would, which freaks her out.

She looks at her newborn sister, and imagines stabbing into her sister's skull with her mother's hair skewer. This freaks her out, so she hides her mother's hair skewers in the closet.

At some point she begins requesting her mother to lock her in her room at night, and once her sister gets older she asks her sister to lock her in. Once she moves out, she asks her neighbor to lock her apartment door. She does this because she doesn't trust herself, I think.

She's at a friend's house, and is looking at the roses on the curtains, and then some dead roses fall out of the curtains.

She builds a blanket fort on her apartment balcony.

She has to live with her babysitter for a while?

Her mother is admitted to a mental hospital at some point.

I think the title had something to do with roses, or curtains, or maybe wallpaper.

Thank you

Open. [TOMT] HELP ME FIND BACK THIS CARTOON/ANIME (?) WHITE HAIRED GIRL!

Upvotes

Hello! This is literally my first ever Reddit post lol.

This has been on my mind for years. Maybe 15 or more. But I have very faint memories of a show I've seen as a kid. I'm unsure if this was an anime or a cartoon? I know for sure I've seen it because of one of my aunts that had it on I thinkkk a cd! But when asking her she didn't know what I was talking about nor where they were, even after looking myself. And looking online I couldn't find anything.

What I (think I) remember is that the main character- I'm pretty sure- had white hair and was a girl. Iirc she had 3 white cats looking animals that would talk and stand mostly on two paws but they were very small. I think there was a female, a smart one and a 'chubby' one..

I don't remember much of the show itself, but I'm almost certain there was an episode called 'alter ego' with the main character getting stuck in a room full of mirrors with an 'evil' alter ego of hers that looked exactly like her. Or perhaps it was her twin sister? I'm genuinely trying my best to remember lol please bare with me!!

I have another faint memory but I'm not sure if this is from the same show or not- but I think in one episode she had a little box with I think it was pictures (?) in it that she burried under the tree in her yard. I think there was precious things from her father or grandfather inside...

Please help me i'm really lost and I'm not too good on researches haha

Keep in mind this was years ago and some of my informations might be a bit off or innacurate!

Solved [TOMT] Horror movie with 3 short stories, and 1 main story in between it all

Upvotes

I just randomly started thinking about this movie after seeing a post about the film XX. It made me think of all those weird horror films that were on Netflix during the mid 2010s era that were just multiple short stories put in one film. The only one I can’t recall the name of had 3 short stories, then a main one that the film open and ended with, and that story progressed in between the short stories (I’m pretty sure this was the set up, at least). It was found footage style.

The main story was of this paranormal group I believe, and they were in an abandoned building trying to catch either a ghost or demon, I am not sure what but you finally saw it at the end and that thing looked spooky. I only remember 2/3 of the short stories, one was of a home security cam for a haunted house, another of a woman who swears she’s being watched and messed with by aliens, and can never catch them on camera due to electrical outages at night then finally catches them using a chemical camera.

It’s driving me nuts.

Open [TOMT] hair metal/rock power ballad from the 80s or 90s

Upvotes

I’m looking for a song I heard at a shop today and I couldn’t catch on time with Shazam. it’s an 80s or 90s power rock ballad (i’m certain because it was a radio station dedicated to these two decades).

A man sings it, and it includes the words “open water” in the chorus. dunno if I misheard though, but that’s the bit I remember. the style of singing it’s very distinctive; lots of very high key rock screams, very dramatic performance, maybe verging on camp? The screams were very Sebastian Bach coded.

The style of the song was Cinderella/Warrant.

If anyone knows this one I’ll be very grateful ☺️

Update: I pestered the shop owner to give me his playlist (he's a friend of a friend), and apparently the song came from a youtube channel of 80s/90s music. going back to around the time I was in the shop, I found the actual song, which is right here: https://voca.ro/1icg0eusG2Uv

However, no record of an artist of lyrics exist at all. Is it a very obscure artist or was this a radio station of pure ai slop? JFC

Open [TOMT] This quote appears in more than one piece of media: “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” (NOT Ted Lasso!)

Upvotes

Hi,

The latest episode of Ted Lasso featured this quote from a poem. However, when I watched the latest episode, it hit me that I had heard this same quote very recently… in another piece of media.

I’ve tried searching and searching. I even searched TV transcript websites, but no dice.

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

Other than Ted Lasso, does anyone know of a show or movie that this quote appears in?

Thank you

Open [TOMT] (music) metalcore music video

Upvotes

hey everyone, it’s me again :/ this time it is for a rather obscure metalcore music video that i haven’t seen in years, i remember loving the song but i no longer have access to the youtube account that it was sent to me on.

heres the deets:

The music video was sent to me by the band’s youtube channel, i think around the 2010’s but i could be completely wrong on that, i just remember being rather young. All i can really remember about it is that the video was shot in grayscale/black and white, it focused around a woman being buried in a coffin and trying to claw her way out. iirc, she was wearing something similar to bridal clothes (gown, veil, fingerless lace gloves). the lead singer honestly looked a bit like jeremy mckinnon from adtr but so did a lot of lead singers around this time. i feel like i remember seeing the thumbnail being the lead singer being mid scream, like a low scream where his mouth would be in a o-shape. something else i remember but could just be my mind fabricating is that the band was french?? idk man i just really wanna hear this song again to see if it holds up to what i remember.

all and any inquiries are welcome! i hope we can find this song because i deep dive every few months to no avail. thank you!!

Open [TOMT] [song] song that's (i think) popular on tiktok with uncanny finish

Upvotes

So i have seen a tiktok a while ago where some girl said that a song, that was i think a quite popular tiktok sound, has an uncanny/creepy ending/outro. The comments talked about how he (the musician that made that song) often would do that at the end of his songs. I can't really remember the song but i think it had a guitar in it and (maybe) some bird noises.

Open [TOMT] Pre-2015 live-action kids movie about a kid named "Seth" with an overactive imagination.

Upvotes

When I was a kid, around 2013, I started to watch a movie with my grandparents about a boy named Seth who had an overactive imagination. Multiple scenes of this movie were just his daydreams. I feel like there might have been some generic "Bad Thing™️" in the kids life (i.e. Dad's in the military, Mom has cancer, parents are divorced, something along those lines). The one scene that I remember with exact clarity is that there is a nightmare sequence at some point in the movie where Seth's loved ones see him from afar and begin to excitedly chant his name, but as he grows closer he sees that they are nightmarish, distorted versions of themselves. This freaked me out as a kid, and we turned the scene off immediately. This scene has been seared into my memory, and I'd really like to see it again. It might have been some crappy straight-to-TV movie, and I also feel like it might have been Dove-approved (this weird Christian approval-rating my grandparents were big fans of).

Solved [TOMT][MOVIE][AGE UNCERTAIN] Horror movie where they do a saw-style challenge they found online in a mansion, and the main character ends up being the villain.

Upvotes

I don't know for sure what time era this movie came out from, but it was definitely before 2020/Covid, and I watched it after the early 2010's at the absolute earliest since I was still pretty young around that time.

We used to go to a movie/dvd store and rental place as a kid, but I'm pretty sure that that store was closed by that time due to streaming, so we likely got it from a gas station Redbox near where I lived. (northern america)

My memory is fairly fuzzy cause i was probably only in my early teens or pre-teens when i saw this (~10ish years ago) But the story is about these young adults/teens who go online to find a website that can lead them to this challenge. I don't remember why exactly. But they successfully find the location of the challenge, a mansion where all the people who arrived are split into teams and led to different rooms.
Each room had a different saw style death trap and the team had to either work together or sabotage the others to make it to the end.

One trap i remember had something to do with a bed. one of those ones with a tall frame you could hang curtains on, and instead there were spikes or saw blades or something coming down on someone.

Once they escape the first room theyre put in they meet up with other people, and there is a killer roaming around, i think in a mask, taking out anyone they can get a chance to while people try and solve more puzzles and escape.

At the end its revealed that the main character is actually the one who organized it all, i think maybe he didnt even know himself, im unsure. He was chained up in a basement as a child by an abusive mom/parent, and eventually escaped by stabbing her, i think with a screwdriver. He has this revelation in the woods outside the mansion, and then i think he fully accepts who he is as a murderer and thats how it ends.

Other details i dont know for 100% sure are true, but they could be helpful if they are true.
- I think there may have been a maid who brought them to their rooms when they first got there?
- I think there was something to do with a Swan. It might've been the logo/mascot for the online website they got the info from?
- I think the main bad guy/killer used the same screwdriver he killed his mom with?
- There mightve been a female secondary main character?
- the main character may have been blonde/wearing light colors but i wouldn't rely on that since I'm unsure

Any hints are helpful, but this is all ive got. Ill comment if i remember anything new.

Open [TOMT][SONG] Poppy, sort of techno song with a female singer, 'brand new' was part of the lyrics.

Upvotes

I can't remember the exact beat, or lyrics. I promised myself I would and then bam! It's gone. But I do remember something along the lines of 'feel brand new' or 'i'll be brand new' seemed very positive, upbeat, and had some sort of distinct instrumental.

It didn't sound like this exactly, but it was similar to say, Martin Garrix's 'Home' in which it had a drop iirc, and Zara Larson's 'Midnight Sun' in the sense that there was an emphasized line sung rhythmically.

Links to those songs to satisfy requirements:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l56xgEYWocY

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVwTBRL6LDM

Again, not exactly, but more in the sense of the instrumental was emphasized and I think the 'brand new' was sung with emphasis? But these instrumentals are not accurate to the song I remember. Really wish I could remember more to describe it but my memory SUCKS.

Solved [TOMT][MOVIE] movie about a woman escaping an abusive husband

Upvotes

I watched this movie about 10 years ago with my mother and it’s been bugging me for so long as I can’t remember the name.

At the start of the movie, there’s a scene of a couple going around a neighbourhood looking at houses. The husband knocks on the door of a large house and an elderly man answers, asking what he wants. The husband asks to buy the old man’s house and he initially refuses to sell it, the husband then says that his wife really loves the house and offers the old man $1 million and told man shakes hands with him on the spot.

Later in the movie, they have a child and the husband becomes increasingly more abusive and controlling of his wife. After the child is like 3 or 4 years old she decides to attempt to escape her husband. While he is sleeping, the woman takes her daughter and tries to quietly leave out of the back door. There are like people waiting at the back door to help her and the camera flips around to show her husband standing behind her (and I think he had a gun) warning her about how he’s going to find her no matter what if she leaves. From what I remember one of her friends at the back door who was a black guy I think, breaks the glass and she runs away.

Now the woman is moving between motels everyday to avoid her husband tracking her. There’s also a scene where she’s on the phone with a black haired woman and mentions that she cannot be on the call for longer than 15 seconds so that her call can’t be tracked and about how her husband is a very powerful man.

The last thing that I remember is a scene of the woman wearing a trench coat and walking down a street. The husband is following her and she walks into a store where he waits outside for her to come out. A decoy woman dressed in the same clothes leaves the store and the husband begins following her, then the actual woman walks out and goes in the opposite direction towards the camera and removes a wig.

If this sounds familiar at all, please comment. This has been bugging me for a while now.

Open [TOMT] I don't remember the title where the Korean Anime I saw.

Upvotes

Basically what I saw in the clip was the mc, a high school boy who has a glare. He looks like he has a doom and gloom face where the area around his upper face is covered in shadow and the only visible is eyes. His counterpart a high school girl who seems to be a transfer student told him he's cute.

The punchline of the scene was that he asked his mom if he's cute and she showed him a baby photo of him with the same face and then the scene showed his dad and little sis having the exact same look on their faces.

It's been bothering me because I saw the title but completely forgot about it immediately.

Solved [TOMT] Anti-Comedy British Drag Queen

Upvotes

[SOLVED!] It's Bailey J Mills.

I'm desperately searching, but I can't remember the name of this drag queen.

She's an intentionally awkward, intentionally trashy anti-comedy queen. She's British, and she's never been on Drag Race. She really isn't the type of queen they have on that show.

Years ago, I saw a video from her Instagram. She was poorly dancing to a pop song in someone's backyard. The video had a Nathan Fielder energy, and I found it to be really funny.

I remember she was also featured in an online gay newspaper about alternative British queens. The article may have discussed her autism diagnosis, but I'm not 100% certain.

As far as I remember, her stage name is either a plain sounded feminine same or a plain sounding masculine one. She's also pretty young and is currently performing in the UK

Sometimes, she does bad drag on purpose, and sometimes she wears giant inflatable boobs. Does anyone know who I'm talking about???

I really want to find her work again, because the comedy style she uses is very up my alley.

Edit: Solved! It's Bailey J Mills.

Open [TOMT] 1930s-1950s Animated film with a dark snowy setting in a forest with a cabin

Upvotes

I can't stop thinking about this film and I'm so upset. I had a bunch of CDs but they're all mixed up and unnamed and I have nowhere to play them. I keep remembering this one specific film last least once a year.

My parents would buy me CDs with different films all stiched together one after the other so I hope I don't mix them up😅

So this movie I remember was set in a snowy setting in a cabin in the forest. It was a pretty heavy snow storm and I believe the characters were a mother and daughter? The daughter was a teenager I believe. I just remember the audible loud wind blowing sound and the sort of grainy audio the older films have.

At some point the daughter leaves, I think to find apples? I remember apples in a basket. She leaves to the forest in the middle of the snow storm and something freaks her out in the forest? Not sure if it was lightning or something else and I'm so upset I don't remember. All I remember is that she came back running. Not sure if she dropped the basket or something.

The film had a dark render to it. The film wasn't vibrant but it wasn't black and white I believe. Colors looked muted as far as I remember. Hopefully, someone can find it because just the thought of digging through an album of 50+ unnamed CDs with no CD player doesn't sound fun🥲
