Meta Quest 3

Upvotes

Im planning to get a Meta Quest 3 here, but it seems overpriced (1860-2000Gel) compared to the official 600$ cost which is around 1550Gel.

Do i wait a few days for the price to drop or go for it? Also are there any retailers who sell it for cheaper?

Georgia comes under an unsupported country for Meta so setting it up wouldn’t be easy, if anyone knows how to do it please feel free to help

Why hate on this city?

Upvotes

Why does almost every Bolt Taxi driver I had chat with them hate Tbilisi? I love this city and visited twice this year. Once alone and next time brought my friends. We got taxis few times every day and when the drivers start chatting, they start hating on this city and telling us this is a sh*t city and theres nothing to see here. Almost every single of them telling us to go to Mtskheta which is hundred time better than Tbilisi. As much as we tell them we love this city and there are many to see here, they start hating on this city and giving us guides to go to Mtskheta which is an old capital city and a UNESCO site, which these factors doesn’t attract us. I have never been there and Im sure that there also have places to visit, but why hate on a city that they are making a living out of it?

Is there any foreigner here who works as a freelancer for non-Georgian company? Officially with taxes and stuff

Upvotes

I wonder if work permit is needed for such scenarios? I've read somewhere that if you work for a non-Georgian company it's an exception and you can skip the work permit part. Does anybody know for sure?

Looking for music cassettes in Tbilisi

Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’ll be in Tbilisi in a few days and I’m looking to buy some music cassettes. New or old, original releases or used tapes — I’m open to pretty much anything.

Are there any good record shops, flea markets, second-hand stores, bazaars or private sellers in Tbilisi where I should look?

I’d especially love to find some Georgian/Soviet music, but I’m also interested in international stuff.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Any Koreans in Tbilisi?

Post image
Upvotes

Hello! I need someone who is Korean or speaks Korean to make a couple of calls to KG Motors in South Korea. Could you help?

Here's the story: I bought KGM Rexton Sports Khan (a truck) from Autowini.

I have following concerns:

The voice assistant language won't switch. It is Korean only

Navigation is the same: it uses Korean-specific program that is different from what they supply to their international market models.

I need to get the programs/instructions from them so that I can re-write the car software

Also, the car has the front parking sensors but they don't function. What is more - if they are malfunctioning, the car should give you an error message. In my case, the car just doesn't even see that these sensors should exist. The car came in with a body kit, so I suspect the previous owner purposefully programmed it so that the front sensors are disabled. I need to know what to do to re-enable them.

Ideally we need a south Korean phone number because I think their hotlines are Korea-specific. I'm unable to make a call myself for some reason.

I'm attaching the picture of the car that I'm talking about for more clarity.

I'm SO hoping someone will show up who is able to help. I'm so pumped about this car and being unable to use parking sensors, voice assistant or vehicles native navigation app is kinda killing it.

Solo trip next week, looking for recommendations

Upvotes

36M from the UK heading to Tbilisi solo next week and will have 5 full days and looking to soak up the culture.

I've already looked up a bunch of places online and have the big sights like Chronicles of Georgia, Bridge of Peace, etc. covered but would love some local input on

  • Hidden gem restaurants
  • Natural wine bars worth prioritizing beyond the obvious ones
  • Solo-friendly bars where it's easy to strike up conversation
  • General "don't miss this" spots that don't show up on typical top-10 lists

Any tips appreciated

Recovering after food poisoning - friendly places to eat at?

Upvotes

Hi all, suffered a pretty bad food poisoning, the hospital had advised to follow a strict diet of bland safe foods for a while. We are here as tourists and don't have any stove or a microwave in our hotel. Are there places you could vouch for in Tbilisi where we could find food like that? Even asked the hospital if we could buy directly from them if that’s allowed, but alas. The hospital food was delicious! Thank you in advance!

30M Solo in Tbilisi for a week looking for travel buddies / locals to hang with

Upvotes

Hi! I'll be solo traveling in Tbilisi September 23-29 and would love to meet up with other travelers or locals while I'm there!

I'm coming from Los Angeles and I'm especially into food, history, wandering around different neighborhoods, cafes, and just exploring the city. I'm pretty easygoing and would be down to grab Georgian food, drinks, some clubs or walk around and explore together.

If anyone will be in Tbilisi around the same time and wants to hang out, feel free to message me!

Staying in Didi Dighomi

I'm staying here last few days. Place seems grand . Few people are friendly when I say hello or thanks but mostly met with blank straight faces. Few older people have a laugh at my expense like trying to buy a light bulb

Georgian National football shirt

Upvotes

I am coming to Tblisi and wish to buy your national football jersey. I figured out that there is a shop on Chavchavadze Avenue.

How far is it from the city center and is there another sport shop closer to centrum that might also be selling the jersey?

Should I get a car?

Upvotes

I’m planning on moving to Georgia (tbilis) and was wondering if it’s worth buying a car. Last time I was there, taxis were super cheap, so I’m not sure I’d even need one. How do you guys usually get around?

Best vet clinic in Tbilisi?

Upvotes

I’ve been taking my cat to Vetlife, but I feel like the vets there are too lazy I swear I took my cat 3 times already and we still haven’t reached a proper diagnosis. What other clinics are there with actual good doctors and good prices? Specifically in saburtalo
