Reminder: Account Support posts are not allowed. Open a ticket.

Upvotes

Recently there has been an increased spate of posts that are essentially just ban appeal posts. These are not permitted on the subreddit. This is not a place for you to complain about your ban or try and get it overturned. Nor is it a place to request help with login support.

Riot has a function for that on their own website. This is the only place where you can get help on such matters. Please do not make a post on the subreddit requesting help with your account, nor should you send us a modmail: we have no direct contact with Riot to get you unbanned.

You can post about:

  • Experiences with Riot Support. i.e. ticket times being too long, functionality of the website being poor.
  • Any technical issues proven to be client side rather than personal side. i.e. yesterday's issues with League of Legends.

You cannot post:

  • Any personal ban or account suspension related posts.
  • Any personal technical support posts.

I’m a Lee Sin OTP with 3 million mastery points, and I’m honestly tired of seeing my favorite champion be one of the most useless champions in the game in so many situations So here is my concept for what I think Lee Sin could look like in League Next.

Riot deserves criticism for 2XKO, but the “it didn’t make League money” argument makes no sense

Upvotes

I’m not here to defend a big corporation. I’m trying to look at this logically instead of emotionally.

According to Riot, 2XKO cost substantially more to operate than it earned, and updates weren’t producing sustained growth. That isn’t the same as shutting down a profitable game because it didn’t make League money.

What makes people confident another two years of development would have made it sustainable? More characters could help, but they also cost money. Riot being wealthy doesn’t change that. Funding losses makes sense when there’s a credible path to profitability, but having money doesn’t make every struggling project worth funding indefinitely.
Riot absolutely deserves blame for taking ten years to deliver what launched. Personally, I think they invested too much into a niche F2P game for the audience it could realistically sustain. They created the problem, but spending more wouldn’t necessarily have fixed it.

TFT is a useful comparison because it reportedly didn’t make money at first, yet Riot kept supporting it. The difference was that TFT showed strong player numbers, retention, engagement, and long-term potential. Even if it wasn’t immediately profitable, those metrics suggested that continued investment could eventually pay off. A game can justify short-term losses when players are sticking around, returning regularly, and giving the developers evidence that the audience can grow.

That doesn’t necessarily seem to be what happened with 2XKO. If the game was expensive to operate, updates weren’t creating sustained growth, and the player base wasn’t showing the kind of retention or engagement Riot needed, then its situation was different from TFT’s. The question isn’t simply whether a game is profitable today. It’s whether the available data suggests that continued investment has a realistic chance of making it sustainable later.

Legends of Runeterra gets hate for downsizing and surviving. Had 2XKO downsized again, fewer characters and slower updates would probably have earned it the same “dead game” and “life support” comments. Riot gets criticized either way. Isn’t a smaller, sustainable game better than losing it entirely? You can dislike what was sacrificed while still recognizing that.

That’s also why I don’t agree with declaring the MMO doomed over this. Worrying that Riot could repeat management mistakes is fair. Assuming a different genre and business model will face the same outcome, or get dropped for not matching League’s revenue, is speculation. The MMO’s future should depend on its own player numbers, retention, engagement, operating costs, and long-term potential, not on whether 2XKO succeeded.

Riot hasn’t earned blind trust, but we can criticize its mistakes without assuming more funding would have saved 2XKO or that its failure determines the MMO’s future.

The unit couldnt be sold, and was taking a bench space, later on I would have an emblem and an item component since i wanted to reforge both, but the game would not let me, so i was playing down an item and an augment.

for everyone who assumes the MMO is dead, Riot posted about it this weekend

Upvotes

quick recap for anyone who stopped following it: announced December 2020, restarted from scratch in March 2024, nothing shown since. no title, no gameplay, no date past "before 2030". and with 2XKO going into maintenance in December I think a lot of people had quietly filed this one under dead as well.

Merrill did the Storytime keynote at PAX West on Friday. Saturday, Riot's account cut thirty-nine seconds out of it and posted them. the interviewer is pushing him for a title or a release date. he gives neither and says this instead:

> "We know what players' hopes and dreams are. It's just on us as a team, and people: can we succeed in the execution? What a worthy quest. Like, we jokingly call it the Grail internally, because we're like, many a brave knight are going to die on the Grail quest. But fuck it, it's the Grail, so let's go."

so the game has a nickname inside Riot. it's the Grail. that part's new.

twenty-eight minutes later Fabrice Condominas quote tweeted it with one line, "I can confirm that this project is not for the faint of heart". he's the executive producer, he's been running it since the 2024 reset, and that's the first thing he's ever said about it publicly. everything we've had since the reboot came from Merrill alone.

it's also the corporate account rather than someone's personal one, talking about the game in the present tense, which hasn't happened since the reset either.

then there's the bit I only found because PAX put the whole fifty-eight minutes on their own channel. at 52:16 the interviewer asks him flat out where the MMO is, along with Riftbound and another season of Arcane. Merrill answers about Riftbound. then League Classic, Valorant, TFT set 17, Wild Rift. then "I'm not here to promote anything," and he's on to thanking PAX for twenty years. never comes back to it.

so still nothing concrete. no title, no date, no screenshot, not even a genre detail.

I don't think you talk about a project as "the Grail" while you're quietly winding it down, but that's about as far as the evidence goes.

I'm not excited about Riot MMO at all

Upvotes

First of all I'm not saying MMO are bad it's just not what I wanted for this game universe

I'm absolutely in love with this universe I watch every Necrit video that comes out the champion characters are my absolute favorites in this universe

I'm a league player to be honest MMO are just about creating your own characters but I want to play as real champions going on adventures and getting to know their stories deeply instead of just a no-name character I created

I'm not saying MMO shouldn't be released but I think they might as well do both I believe Riot wouldn't miss the opportunity and potential for us to play as our beloved characters

Do you know how much I love Briar? I even have a body pillow shaped like her I want to play as her and go on adventures as my waifu character you guys want to play as your favorite characters and go on adventures with you too right?

As a league player wouldn't you rather fulfill your fantasy by playing as your beloved character embarking on adventures and exploring the world rather than just creating your own character in an MMO?

Riot could even be done as a pair I don't mind It might even be beneficial as it would clearly target different audiences while still remaining in the same universe and canon

I hope Riot Shanghai actually comes out and isn't just a fluke not everyone might want it the same way I do but I believe there are a lot of players who really want this kind of game even if it's a gacha game

League Of Legends loading screen takes way too long and sometimes i get queue delay for being AFK because everyone else already loaded in.

Upvotes

I only started to have this problem a few weeks ago. When i start a game, swiftplay or ranked it doesnt matter, my loading screen is a blackscreen at first and i can only see my mouse, then it switches to the actual loading screen but it stays completely frozen. The green ping thing on the top left doesnt move and sometimes when i click around it says "league client is not responding". I dont know what to do about it, ive tried starting it in admin mode and updating drivers but nothing works.

Does anyone own the official Arcane Blue Rose necklace?

Post image
Upvotes

Hi! I bought the official Arcane Blue Rose necklace for my girlfriend about a year ago. The leather cord recently broke, and for her birthday I want to surprise her with a 14K white gold chain to replace it.

Riot support unfortunately couldn’t provide the bail dimensions.

If anyone here owns the necklace, could you measure the internal width and height of the bail for me? Millimeters or inches are both fine.

I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Vanguard Service vgc terminates on launch of any riot game

Upvotes

I'm coming here to see if anyone has suggestions on a very particular issue I've had for the last 10 days or so. I've opened a ticket with riot support but have gotten nothing but bot responses telling me "the issue is being investigated" so I thought I'd ask to see if anyone has solved this problem for themselves.

When launching any riot game, the background service of vanguard "vgc" will immediately close and then the game will throw a "Vanguard error 57" because the service is not online. Here's a list of every step I've taken to try and fix this, per my scouring of other threads on reddit and other parts of the internet:

  • I've completely uninstalled all riot games, the client, and vanguard - both from the windows 11 uninstall app menu, as well as using Revo uninstaller to also catch stray registry keys and leftover files
  • I've gone through an enabled all the BIOS options that other posts have discussed - things like secure boot, TPM, disable CSM/Legacy Boot.
  • I've set the service to launch automatically from the service menu, and manually started it before launching any game - it will still terminate as a game launches.
  • I've checked the service logs to find an error log when the a game attempts to launch saying: "The vgc service terminated with the following error: Incorrect function."
  • I've run "sigverif" to ensure all digital signatures are valid, and made sure memory integrity is off
  • I've run sfc/scannow to find and repair corrupt files

I've gone through great lengths to try and fix this, and the issue of the service terminating on launch still persists. If anyone has encountered something similar and found a fix I'd love your help! Thank you!

Why Sevika needs to be a permanent playable character in a Riot game.

Upvotes

I really want to see Sevika become a permanent, playable character in a Riot game. Before anyone dismisses the idea, let’s talk about the usual counter-arguments people bring up:

First off, people always say her RNG slot-machine arm wouldn't work in a balanced game. But it doesn't even have to! By the end of Arcane Season 2, her arm setup shifts away from the pure gambling mechanic anyway, she had a brawler arm based on her Season 1 arm with the chomper head and that would be incredibly fun and way easy to balance.

Another thing I hear is that she was already in TFT. But Set mechanics rotate out constantly. I want to be able to boot up a game and lock her in whenever I feel like it whether that's in League of Legends, Wild Rift, or Legends of Runeterra.

Finally, some people claim no one cares about her anymore. That's just flat out wrong. She is easily one of the breakout fan-favorites from Arcane, and a huge chunk of the community would absolutely buy cosmetics just for her.

Now that Arcane has wrapped up, it feels like a massive waste to let such a badass character design sit on the shelf. Please make it happen, Riot!

Issues with client

Post image
Upvotes

Hello, I've been trying to open Riot client on my pc, but it just won't open. I tried to open League of Legends and TFT as well, but none of these open. After some attempts this weird pop up appears on my screen. It was basically impossible to swipe it cause it was so laggy so I just closed it. I was wondering if anyone got the same issue in the last few hours or if this has ever happened to anyone. Also, maybe if there's a way to fix it, or do I just have to wait/uninstall everything and install it back on my PC? Thank y'all.

Ps. I play on the EUW server and no, I don't speak nor read Chinese.

What is the best way to actually engage with someone at Riot Support?

Upvotes

That is, without the ticket being immediately closed with a template response. I need personalized help with an issue but haven't received any in my last two tickets. This seems to be a common problem, so I was hoping someone might have an idea. Thanks for the help!

Kayn should scale

Upvotes

Kayn should have a stronger scaling into the late game, it doesn't make sense that he is weaker than all assassins and bruisers preform and his scaling being this mid.

My solutions after years of brainstorm :

- Shadow Assassin should get magic penetration scaling on lethality

- Rhaast should get %armor penetration scaling on HP

This would make Kayn have to actually build Bruiser for Rhaast and Assassin for Shadow Assassin, while actually fulfilling the fantasy of being a form champion that actually scales after getting it like Kayle and Bel'Veth.

Both changes wouldn't make him broken mid game as he would need items for those passives to scale and it could also be upgraded with lvl 6, 11 and 16 to make the scaling smooth and not broken.

As a reminder there is Ambessa that has more mobility than Rhaast, does also %HP damage, has lifesteal that scales with damage items and %armor pen.

And there are champions like Talon, Qiyana, Rengar and Khazix that have literally oneshot combos that are undodgeable while Shadow Assassin has to land his spells and doesn't get an easy snowball early that allows to stack gold as the others.

Edit for the piggies : - The only time in which Rhaast was actually good in high elo was when he was able to build Black Cleaver+Serylda giving him enough %armor pen to be able to kill armor stackers, but Riot removed the dual stacking nerfing all AD bruisers that actually need it. - Kayn used to be able to stack his form faster with First Strike and other runes, which they nerfed, implying they don't want Kayn to get his form fast. - The games start 35 seconds earlier since last changes the speed up the games, Kayn has not been buffed to get form 35 seconds faster, as he has an orbs mechanic that increases the speed of stacking orbs. - Kayn used to be able to proc Tiamat during his Q animation allowing him to get orbs a bit faster, and to be able to build Hydra items, which they removed cause for the first time Blue Kayn was able to oneshot with Q+Hydra+Ult as Rengar, Talon, Qiyana and Khazix. In doing so they also nerfed one of the coolest Builds for Rhaast which was able to Build Ravenous Hydra and can't anymore. - This is just some examples, but Riot has systematically nerfed anything that could make Kayn an actual strong champion in high elo, and thinking otherwise is clueless.
