Someone just called me from CBQ, asking for my personal information. Naturally, I hung up immediately and blocked the number. I’m still feeling sleepy and, to make matters worse, I recently lost my wallet. I have my ID and credit cards in there. Seriously, why would you try to scam me when I’ve already lost money?
I’m just curious on how do these scammers get our numbers with our full name?

I was ordering out and the driver sadly got into a crash. I'm not really mourning the food but I guess it's a bit different from when you're driving past a crash.
How do all of you feel when you hear/see this happen?

Qatar Animal Welfare Society (QAWS) says it can no longer sustain its current operations, as rising weekly costs and mounting unpaid bills continue to put pressure on the animal welfare organisation.
In an exclusive statement to Doha News, QAWS co-founder Janet Berry said it was not sustainable to continue operating the welfare society without legal registration.
QAWS said it has spent 22 years seeking legal registration, holding meetings, delivering presentations, completing environmental studies, developing its organisational framework and submitting applications over the years.
The welfare society added that it currently needs QAR 700 for cat litter, QAR 3,500 for dog food and QAR 5,600 for diesel, with the same expenses due again within seven days.
The welfare society also cited QAR 8,000 in outstanding farm animal feed costs, more than QAR 45,000 in veterinary bills and around QAR 1,000 a week for baboon food and cleaning supplies.
QAWS said that, under its current status, it cannot solicit or accept monetary donations while continuing to take responsibility for more animals each week.

Hi everyone. I'm a 22 y/o student whos lived here for the past 15 years. I'm currently enrolled in uni but have taken the past 2 semesters off as I can't pay the fees and my estranged father also won't unless I ask him to pay them by court. I want to work so I could do it on my own and not need his help or money, but sadly he is my sponser so when he renewed my qid (by legal force btw) he also got it delivered to his house so I currently don't have a physical copy and he refuses to give it to me and says I should go ask for it in court, so I go around with an old expired card. I tried opening a student account through both qib and qnb online but it requires you to scan both sides and mine was expired so I couldn't do it. My question is if I go to the branch will they let me open it if I show them my metrash? or will the also require me to have the physical copy on me? Any advice would help, thanks.

Hi guys, I was accepted in UDST qatar, and I’m an international student from Kazakhstan. My visa is under process for a long time, some of international students also didn’t get the visa. I am worried, cause bc of it I can’t study fall 2026. Did someone have this problem also last year? How long more do we need to wait? I already emailed everyone in Qatar ministry 😭😭
I got accepted for amiri scholarship at UDST for respiratory therapy....and also at QU for pharmacy..... pharmacy was my third choice... initially wanted to study medicine....what to do now? What is the better option? Go to UDST because of scholarship or qu and then try to transfer?

I kinda feel left out since I don't really know a lot of people here that keep insects as pets.
(SPOILER: insects are in this post. If you feel squeamish, please don't unspoil the pictures if you don't want to.)

Hi everyone! I’m a 25yo female from Hungary (EU) (with a bachelor’s degree and 3 years experience in banking)
I’m considering moving to Qatar and building my life there, ideally through a master’s degree.
I applied to the Doha Institute for a fully funded master’s, but unfortunately I wasn’t accepted. They said the main reason was the very high number of applicants. I’m thinking about applying again for the next intake, but I’m wondering how realistic the chances are as a european applicant who doesn’t speak arabic (yet) and would study in english.
I have some savings, but definitely not enough to support myself long-term without an income. I’m very interested in Arabic culture and genuinely want to integrate, but I also don’t want to underestimate the cultural differences.
I’d really appreciate honest advice, is this a realistic plan or am I being overly optimistic?

Hey everyone,
I'm currently looking at options for my A2 Level (Year 13) in Qatar. I got a quote from a local British school that comes out to around 49,000 QAR/year. Honestly, that is completely out of my budget and I cannot afford it. I take Maths (Cambridge), Business (Edexcel), and IT (Edexcel), and I’m trying to decide on the most practical alternative. I’m currently considering a few options and would love some feedback, experiences, or advice from anyone who has gone down these routes in Qatar:
Option 1: Sitting A2 Privately via the British Council. What would be the total cost for this?
Option 2: Switching to a different school. Are there any other budget-friendly British-curriculum schools in Doha that offer A2 Level that I should look into?
Option 3: Skipping A2 Altogether & Applying to University Early
I’ve already finished my IGCSEs and AS Levels with solid results.
I got 3A*s and 5As in IGCSE and 2As and 1C in AS level.
Not married yet, but really wondering, as a man, how much you should be giving your wife and how much you should be spending on her / on yourself?
I've did a quick google search and the average income is 11000 QR, so keep it based on that.

Hi all — we're an expat family in Qatar, and our daughter is turning 2. We're starting to think ahead about home vs. traditional school and want to learn from people who've actually done it here, not just what's written in guides.
A few questions if anyone can share their experience:
Is anyone here actively homeschooling as an expat? How's it going day-to-day?
What's the real registration/paperwork situation for expat kids (I know there's no specific law, but is there anything practical you had to deal with — visas, portals, etc.)?
Which curriculum did you go with (British/Cambridge, US, CBSE, other) and why?
If you ever switched from homeschool to a regular school (or vice versa), how smooth was that transition — did schools accept your records?
For toddler/preschool age specifically, is there anything worth starting now, or is it all "wait until 4-5"?
Is Doha Home Educators still active? Would love to connect with a group before we decide anything.

Just as the title mentions..Since this is something I have only experienced in Qatar, I am genuinely confused about what is to be done with so many hangers-- are you simply discarding them in garbage? Can we reuse/recycle/return them?
