I got a Litter Robot 4, since I have 4 cats, and the other 3 use it perfectly fine. But my tuxedo boy doesn't use it, instead preferring to poop in the tub 🤢. He used our old standard litter box without trouble, so it's definitely the change of the box. I've used treats to get him to walk up to it, and he's even fine being inside of it, but he just won't use it. I've tried Dr. Elsey litter attractant and that hasn't helped either. I've kept the robot on sleep mode so the automatic sifting won't scare him, as he's the most timid of all our cats.

I'm really at a loss for what to do here. Any tips/help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi! I have a UBPet C10 automatic litter box and I’m trying to change the waste bag, but I can’t open the waste compartment.

The left release button presses normally, but the right button is completely stuck and won’t move at all. I’m wondering if the waste bag or something inside has become trapped behind the latch.

I’ve tried gently pushing the compartment inward while pressing the button, but it still won’t move. I don’t want to force it and break the plastic mechanism.

Has anyone had this problem with the UBPet C10? Is there a way to manually release the latch or open the compartment safely?

I had it for just over 3 years, and after having problems for essentially its entire life, it died today. Within the last week, it started doing the “bonnet removed” error again when absolutely no one is anywhere near it. This morning, I went over and re-seated the bonnet, which did nothing, so then I turned it off, unplugged it, plugged it back in, and tried to turn it on again… Nothing. I left for the day, came back, tried it again… Still nothing.

I even bought a new liner last month, haven’t even had a chance to replace it yet. That was $60+ down the drain!

I volunteer at least once a week at one of the two busiest animal shelters in Chicago. I adopt out at least one cat a week. Owners ask me constantly about litter box options, and they frequently ask about the Robot by name. I have always hesitated before answering “…I don’t love mine.” Now? No hesitation. “Do not buy a Whisker product.”

Just thought the litter robot 5 for new place. For this one; we are thinking of buying a piece of furniture to put the robot in. We don’t want one where the cat enters from the site to go to the front, as my kitties like to see out from the door and jump out.

I just discovered mold all over the underbelly of the housing unit, the part where the housing unit meets the tray, so I decided to pull out the entire globe and remove the liner and mold was everywhere. How do you recommend cleaning this, do I have to worry about the liner being porous and unsafe?

About a year ago I got a litter robot 4 for my two kittens. They have been using it since. However, one cat stopped using it for pooping, only peeing, so they pooped on the floor. She stopped using it that entire day so I put a manual litter box out for her and she went pee and poop in it. She hasn't used the robot since at all. She goes up to it and stands to look inside it but never goes in to use it. Has this ever happened to anyone? If so what did you do to help?

So the cat of the house has been bad at covering his own poop and as he's gotten older its gotten messier. Far as my roommate has said, the robot is sometimes just smearing it when cycling so I'm really open to hearing if there are any solutions to helping with this. I need to double check the litter being used to make sure it is a good clumping one but aside from that I'm not sure what else to do aside from following him up and putting litter over it which really diminishes some of the point of the LR itself.

Yes he does try to paw it, he just never lands it on it. He's also kinda huge so he is fitting in awkwardly as is.

Hi we have got a feeder robot as we had it shipped to the uk but are wanting to get the stainless steel bowl insert but as they do not sell the feeder robot or its accessories in the uk i am wondering if there is anyway to get one in the uk or an alternative that fits without spending ridiculous amounts on shipping

Anybody have any tips for good mats to put underneath the litter robot machine? I live in a typically cold and dry place but the humidity has been out of control, I have noticed a smell and after deep cleaning my apartment several times, checked under the litter robot to discover the humidity was causing a mildew issue that I caught early. No urine seems to be there, but I read that the mildew may have been caused by the robot sitting directly on the floor.

Any mats on Amazon that would help mitigate the issue? I’m moving soon but don’t want to have to make this a recurring thing

Last weekend, I did a deep clean of my Litter Robot 4. This is something I have done multiple times before, as I’ve had it for 18 months… I put it back together, put in the litter and the litter hopper back on, plugged it in and it flashed through a rainbow of colors, before settling on a continually flashing blue… and none of the buttons will work!I took it apart, made sure there weren’t any obstructions, got it all back together, plugged it in and the same thing. Has anyone found a solution for this?

Feel free to disregard the following diatribe… I just need to vent!
I’ve had issues with this stupid thing since I got it. I have already had to deal with the sensor just above the drawer, pinch issues… you name an issue, and I have probably dealt with it! I called on Monday and explained everything to the customer service rep, who kept trying to tell me to do things that I couldn’t do because the buttons didn’t work, but I took it apart and did everything he said anyway. Finally, after getting quiet for a few minutes to look something up, he tells me to order a new Omni sensor. The guy did not sound like he had any clue what he was talking about, and at this point had just given up. I have three cats and six foster kittens right now. I’m going out of my mind without my litter robot working, so when I went online and it told me I needed to order this $50 part and pay $25 for shipping, I was so frustrated that I impulse bought the new laser sensor AND a brand new Litter Robot 5 Pro. I honestly didn’t want to wait any longer, if this clueless customer service agent had convinced me to buy a part that wasn’t actually going to fix the problem. The thought of waiting even longer to get a working robot was too much! The bundle clearly said that everything would be “shipped together”, and should arrive on Friday. By the next day, I had a FedEx tracking number that said Saturday arrival…. Ok, I’m not a monster… I can deal with an extra day. Saturday arrives, and only the litter hopper from the bundle shows up. I’m pissed! It’s a holiday weekend!Apparently, the rest of it isn’t going to show up until Tuesday, AND the stupid laser sensor still hasn’t shipped!! I called Whisker customer service to find out if there’s any way to at least overnight the laser sensor so I can have at least one working litter robot. At least this customer service guy seemed like he knew what it was talking about… until he also had me take the litter robot apart, and put it back together again and then tried to get me to calibrate it, even though none of the buttons are working! When I asked if there was any way to have it overnighted, he said sometimes USPS gets it wrong and it might’ve already shipped. There’s no way for them to do anything at this point 🤦🏻‍♀️ He didn’t seem so sure about this laser sensor even fixing the problem, and told me if it doesn’t I’ll likely need to replace the entire base for another $450!! Are you kidding me? You spend this much on a product, that basically collects crap, and the company doesn’t even stand behind the product?? look at how many issues people have with these… there’s pages upon pages of people trying to solve their own problems, because Whisker doesn’t stand behind their products or hire tech-support, that actually knows how to help you solve problems. I’d swear off Litter Robot forever! … but I’m so frustrated with scooping for nine cats right now that I’m ready to lose my mind! I wonder how many cat rescues, lose fosters because Litter Robot can’t get their sh*t together 😡

Had it unplugged for a few weeks. Took it apart, cleaned it, and just got cat litter today and set it back up. I always recalibrate it with no issues until now.

I press the button sequence connect reset connect empty cycle and it just stops with a solid yellow light until I hit reset and then it'll cycle and return home.

Anyone ran into this before?

LR4 keeps saying globe overloaded or jammed. It's not overloaded so I pulled it apart to see if I noticed anything blocking. I don't see anything blocking but I do see these red and black cables that aren't connected to anything. Does anyone know where these are supposed to connect to or if them being loose like that is correct?

Randomly, the litter robot stopped working and has a blinking blue light. Pressing reset, power, cycle, none of the buttons work. I cleaned out the metal sensor of the DFI and nothing. Just when I plug in, it'll cylce through the buttons then stop at the blinking blue light.

Befoer I spend money on a DFI replacement, can there be any other reasons that I can try to diagnose a blinking blue light with no other buttons responding?

So I had a reconditioned LR3 that worked great for 2 years but then got so frustrating in the 3rd year I ended up tossing. After a year of using regular boxes, the litter robot is starting to look pretty good again.

I’m trying to understand if the LR4 (with adjustments) will make for a better experience.

LR 3 Challenges:

-One of my cats is a high pee-er. It never got into any components but would make the front of a liner a mess. Over time it got more and more difficult to clean and retained smell more easily, to the point that I was having to clean every few days to keep the smell at bay.

-Over time it got more and more glitchy. Constantly getting stuck or wouldn’t cycle at all. I tried all the various reset options, taking apart to deep clean, etc. it got to a point where it was essentially function as a manual box.

LR 4 Adjustments:

- Purchase the Costco bundle with 3 year extended warranty. Not getting the warranty was a big mistake. Replacement parts would likely have extended the life of my LR 3.

-Get the shield accessory. I’ve seen some reviews that this has helped with high peeing cats? And also helps with odor control? I got the LR 3 fence when it came out but it didn’t seem to make a huge difference.

-Use the Boxie cat pro litter plus either a pet safe wax or cooking spray for liner. With 3 year warranty can also replace the liner as needed. I tried making these adjustments with LR3 but I suspect it was too late and the liner just needed to be replaced.

-Grab a steam cleaner for use within the globe/liner. I live in an apartment and it always felt really hard to get a good deep clean without access to a pressure hose.

-use aluminum tray in waste drawer. I heard this helps to reduce the smell seeping into the plastic over time?

Curious if folks (particularly those with high peeing cars or who have struggled with smell) have thoughts on whether this will improve my experience? Or am I likely to run into similar challenges again?

I don’t think this is a magnet. I can’t find a troubleshooting guide for this one. Help!

I have a 1 month old LR5. I just did my first cleaning of it (we have 1 5lb cat so it’s not a lot of mess over the month). Pretty easy stuff.

I was curious about the smoothness of the cycle. I uploaded the linked video to YouTube. Around 56 seconds you can see what I’m calling a micro stutter, and a second one a second or 2 later. I checked the white smaller gear inside the base and also the large black one on the globe for any hair, debris, litter, etc. took vacuum all over as well. Even after repeated cleanings, these specific stutters are in the same spot every time. I also wiped the exterior of the globe and the bonnet.

Am I over thinking this? Is this “normal”?

I got my litter robot 2 months ago. I have 3 cats and 1 is very skittish so I kept one regular litter box. For a while all 3 cats used the one box, very rarely would any of them try to robot. I tried unplugging the robot and at least 1 of them (maybe more, not sure) started using it since I let the litter box get pretty dirty before scooping. I plugged the robot in and kept monitoring with the app. It seemed like they were comfortable with it and using it but then they just stopped. No uses in a week now. Should I unplug it again? Not sure what spooked them.

I’m trying to add my litter robot 3 in the app and this is the screen I get instead of the camera when instructed to scan the QR code. My phone access says camera access is on for the whisker app, the app is updated, and I’ve restarted the app several times. The buttons at the top like the flash work when pressed.

WHY isn’t there an option to manually add a device??

Has anyone successfully eliminated a lingering urine smell around their Litter-Robot?

My Litter-Robot is in a bathroom with no windows. My older cat peed on the litter mat a few times, so I removed and threw it out. I’ve already cleaned the globe, regularly wipe down the outside, and completely clean the waste drawer about every four days.

I’ve also treated the floor with vinegar spray and Rocco & Roxie enzyme cleaner, and I have a plug-in air freshener in the bathroom. Despite all of that, I can still smell urine.

Could the odor be trapped somewhere inside or underneath the Litter-Robot? Any particular areas I should deep-clean or parts I should replace? I’d especially appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with this in a small, windowless room.
