Finished Offside Hearts by Nikki Lawson yesterday. Itās kinda the typical hockey trope, except the MMC is more cinnamon roll than asshole. Loved him, was team Noah from the jump. ($5.99 on Amazon and worth it. Iāll be circling back and finishing the series)
Started Body Count by Jolie Vines today. Only a two chapters in so itās too early for an opinion, but itās intriguing so far. ($4.99 on Amazon)

The Only Plane in the Sky - itās a composition of oral histories of 9/11. Itās done amazingly well and almost reads like a single narrative. For several years, I have read and then reread 102 Minutes in the weeks leading up to 9/11. Decided to change it up a bit this year.

One Night with the Duchess by Maggie Weston, Historical Romance. An 18-year-old widowed duchess asks a rake to take her virginity, so her marriage won't be declared invalid. Her late husband was much older, they were only married two weeks before he died, and the marriage was never consummated.

Halfway through Middlemarch. It was a test of my patience for the first 25% of it because it was just character introductions and the story wasn't really moving ahead. Also couldn't understand what the book was about really. But I think I'm starting get it now. It feels like a book version of a modern day drama sitcom, and it's starting to grown on me now š

Iāve just finished The Women which was a fantastic book and I demolished it in a day.
Iāve just started reading We Burned So Bright which seems to be a very powerful, short read.
Iāve also got The Count of Monte Cristo on the go which I keep dipping into.
My TBR for the month - Flowers for Algernon, Mad Mabel, The Nightingale, and probably more but not sure yet!

Just finished Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber. I enjoyed it more than the first book, I think. I want to read the 3rd installment but might wait until the 4th releases so I don't have to wait too long.
I purchased Smoke & Scar by Gretchen Powell Fox, so I might start that tonight š

I am now reading Apprentice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer, the second in a series.

Iām currently reading Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt. Itās about Death as a person who meets a family that helps him understand living. Itās honestly hard to explain lol. I can certainly see why so many people loved it, but itās not my favorite writing style and Iām struggling to finish it. I donāt think itās a bad book, but itās not what I expected.

Currently reading A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan. Imagine if Jane Goodall lived in a fantasy equivalent of Victorian England, but instead of studying chimps, she pioneered the study of dragons. These books are her memoirs.
Just finished The Sun and The Starmaker by Rachel Griffin - a young woman gets revealed as the new Starmaker for the fairytale-like mountaintop town of Reverie, responsible for bringing the sun to it each day and preventing it from freezing in darkness. The catch is that to come into her power and immortality, the previous Starmaker must slowly give his to her. It's a really beautiful story about love and grief, and I cried a few times (which is unusual for me!) - highly highly recommend. And it's currently on sale for $1.99!

That's so funny, I'm torn between 11/22/63 and DCC #2 (my Libby hold became available right after finishing DCC #1 and I haven't read myself a good old Stephen King in a few years, so I was looking forward to this.
They're different enough that I'm still kind of reading both, but when the plot starts kicking up with one or the other I'll probably back it down to just one.
(Edites to add bold and clarify that DCC= Dungeon Crawler Carl for those who are still under the rock that I just left last month)

I just finished The Last Sunrise by Anna Todd (Girl travels to Spain with her mom whoās there for work. She meets a guy who sheās not really sure about at first because they didnāt really start on a good note.
They end up agreeing to be each otherās summer fling but nothing more. But as they get to know each other, they realize they want more than just a summer situation)
This book was made into a movie on Prime. Which I plan to watch :))
