I enjoy reading both formats. I also like to give away the physical copy of a title to someone I think will enjoy it after I’m done reading it. A version of this bundling strategy used to exist (maybe still exists?) where if you buy a title, you’d have an option to buy the corresponding audiobook at steep discount.

I’m so glad I have the paperwhite because when I read on my phone the warm light was a must lol. I’m new to reading as a hobby but I think this will take it to the next level the text looks amazing!

I bought myself a match basic for Christmas, to replace my old kindle, I think the 7gen? It was from 2014 and while it still worked great, and I loved it I really wanted one with a built in light.

Got the Matcha, loved it. Only downside- not waterproof. We have a hot tub.

So got the PW SE 12 gen on a sale. It’s nice, it’s beautiful, I like the warm light. But she’s big, and she’s heavy, and I don’t love the flush screen- a lot more accidental page turns- I did start turning the touch screen off and that helps.

I thought maybe it was a case problem. I tried a few different cases. A clear one with a pop socket, the Amazon fabric case, naked with a strapsicle. I even got a ganinno case, thinking being able to move the pop socket around would be helpful- it is, but the kindle is heavy, and the case is heavy.

My basic- I tried the Amazon fabric case, it cracked it 🙃 Amazon did replace the kindle. I tried one with a cover an a magnetic ring for a pop socket.

After all of that- it turns out I just really like my basic naked. It’s comfortable to hold, and it’s still just very pretty.

So- I need to decide if I want to keep or sell my paperwhite.

And I need to order a sleeve for my basic so it’s
Protected when I throw it in my bag.

I literally could have stopped at just buying the basic and saved myself a ton. 🙃

I would like to ask if the configuration I currently have in the KCC program is correct for a Kindle 12 with a 7-inch screen

So, I noticed that they discontinued the signature colorsoft (new) and have it up as “like new” at $243. This is so interesting because it indicates that they’re trying to clear the stock and I wonder if it’s to do with EU regulations. What does everyone think?

Got the day off, hubby is in the livingroom playing his game, so I made a pillow circle on the bed and started reading.

At the age of 57, I can finally enjoy reading. The kindle and audio book along with the stand (hard to tell from this photo) makes I possible for me to enjoy reading. I’m low vision. I love real books. Can’t see well enough to read them. kindle makes it possible. Totally worth buying (a license Arghhh!) for the Kindle and Audiobook versions. My wife and I enjoy reading time together at the coffee shop. I so enjoy this time either her. On the 3rd Dune novel now. All I can say is wow. Reading!!!! L. I also enjoy seeing others posts about reading and the photos.

I used to be obsessed with switching up my Kindle cases all the time because I loved finding cute ones and matching them with my vibe. But eventually, I got tired of it because it’s surprisingly hard to find a case that’s both cute and actually comfortable to use at the same time.

Most cases ended up making my Kindle feel heavier and bulkier, so eventually I just realized I actually prefer using it naked. 😂

And yeah, it ended up like this:

Is there a way to add the kindle or audible version of a book to an Amazon wish list? Last year I thought I added the Kindle version and was gifted the hard copies.

Is there a limit of how many KU books you can download at one time on one device?

I’m looking for a more comfortable way to read in bed. I mostly read on my side (would like to read on either side).

I’m between a couple of options: a stand that mounts to my headboard- is it a pain to put it in the mount each night? And does it fit multiple sizes of kindles (I have an Oasis + 2 paperwhites)? Does it stay on okay? When you fall asleep- do you just leave it there on your headboard all night or maybe just push it up?

Flippy or a pillow- How adjustable is the positioning? Seems the easiest to deal with.

Kindle Create is currently the best way to create manga/comics with guided view, which is true panel by panel viewing.

Kindle Comic Converter currently only supports virtual panel view on older firmwares, which was a hardcoded zoom into the 4 corners.

KCC 11.1.0 has added a feature to help improve the Kindle Create workflow: it now supports outputting to a folder of jpg files.

These files can be easily imported into the existing Kindle Create workflow.

If you are using manga PDFs from Humble Bundle, adding the KCC step is superior because:

1. Importing a folder of JPG files into Kindle Create is instant since it takes the images as is. Importing the PDF directly takes quite a while since Kindle Create is rendering the PDF to JPG files too. So ideally you would, for example, batch convert all 34 volumes of Fire Force to folders of JPG first using KCC. Then use each folder in Kindle Create.
2. greater quality, the Kindle Create render to JPG is much more compressed than the KCC JPG. The KCC JPG is much sharper with far fewer compression artifacts.
3. native resolution for your device. Kindle Create renders at 300 PPI, which for most manga means x2250. With KCC, you can instead render at your Kindle's native resolution, such as the Kindle Scribe which is x2480. The Colorsoft is x1696.
4. can use the KCC rainbow eraser feature, which uses a discrete Fourier transform to remove patterns that cause rainbows on Kaleido 3 color eink without blur
5. ensure the blacks are pure black, most Humble Bundle manga is not pure black, it's gray. KCC will automatically adjust the black point to pure black.

So for a Kindle Colorsoft user converting manga, they should:

BTW, don't try using PNG output in KCC for Kindle Create. Kindle Create will convert to JPG anyway and it will make importing images slow instead of instant.

What’s the point of having kindle unlimited if I can’t read the books on my kindle?

I used to have the setting to show the cover of the book that I’m currently reading enabled. After gifting my Kindle to my fiancé and getting myself a new one, though, I kept the default wallpapers on and realized how much I enjoy seeing them! They have such an iconic design language. They kind of remind me of the Global Village Coffeehouse design aesthetic of the 2000’s, which makes sense since they were released in the early 2010’s. Anyone else enjoy or even prefer the default lock screen wallpapers? If so, which is your favorite?

Before I got my kindle colorsoft about two years ago, I would always read and listen to books in the kindle app on my iPhone. I loved how the words highlighted as the audiobook played and the pages would auto-turn and then sync across devices and apps. And I was so bummed when I got my colorsoft and realized this wasn’t a feature on there.

Recently I had gone back to the app to read and listen because I left my kindle at home but this doesn’t seem to be a feature in the app anymore?? I tried signing out and signing back in and that didn’t change anything. Now there’s a read and listen tab in the audible app but I can’t take notes, place bookmarks, or highlight in that app.

Obviously I know I can listen from the audiobook and read from the kindle app/actual kindle but I miss the active highlight feature! Am I missing something? Is this just not a feature in the kindle app anymore?

My Kindle Paperwhite Signature started showing a black screen when I click on book titles instead of loading the book. It has done it with 2 books so far. So basically I have to do a soft reset every time I want to read which is really annoying. Has anyone had this issue and fixed it? I've had my Kindle since last June so not super long. I have a video, but it won't let me attach here. Will try to post in comments. Thank you.

It’s been a few weeks since the drama unfolded about library books being automatically returned, even while in airplane mode. Anyone have personal experience updates to this situation?

If you have the latest software update- - are folks losing their books automatically? It seems hit or miss based on posts - any luck w/ changing the device’s date?

I went to a garage sale yesterday and got a kindle for $20. I'm not sure which version it is but I'm just happy to have one. I want to get a little cover or stand so I can sit it at my desk & read when I'm doing nothing at work.
