That sub is a cult-like doomer cesspool that encourages vulnerable people to dig deeper into delusional catastrophizing and other harmful ideologies in the name of ”the end of the world”. It masquerades as scientific using some factual information as a sort of Trojan Horse.

They claim to do the opposite in the subreddit rules, but I’ve seen users recommend harmful things such as social isolation, drug abuse, and even suicide.

Frankly, it should be a quarantined subreddit at the very least, if not completely banned from the platform.

I hate games that come with DLCs that make the game super-easy to new players and ruin the intended experience from the start.

I recently started re-playing Dead Space 2 and when i hit the very first shop in the game, place where you get your health items and guns and upgrades, i saw multiple armors on screen that you can buy. Barely 1 hour into the game.

All these armors are free and offer many advantages, extended inventory, reduce damage and other perks. Shop also has free weapons. An example a pulse rifle. You arent supposed to get pulse rifle that early into the game. yet one is free on the store.

If i was a new player and saw this i would have just gotten the best armor and breezed through the game, completely ruining the pace and tension.

Monster Hunter World does something similar too. It gives you special DLC armors and weapons that allow you to just rush to the DLC content without properly engaging with the base game. I didnt play the game but some new players state that difficulty sky-rockets in the DLC/Late game since they are so used to their DLC equipment carrying them so much.

MGR:R's pc version has Gray Fox blade that cuts through enemies like butter. No need to combo them or learn moves. Just equip this blade and you can one shot even the mini-bosses. When i first played it on PC while young i ruined the combat for myself and ate shit in the Jet Stream Sam DLC

Now you might be saying ''Oh but you can simply not use these, that decision is your's.'' im talking about how these DLCs effect the exprience of a average new gamer who doesnt know about the DLCs affect on their experience.

Alot of ppl who play these games dont know that they are playing the game wrong. And it seriously ruins their experience. Imagine you teached a kid to swim and forced him to wear a oxygen tube through the whole training. Sure he knows how to swim now but he doesnt know how to control his breath or manage his stamina.

Decided to go back and finish the first God of War, and damn does it look good on a PS5 Pro. But it reminded me how much I always hated these basic cover photos for both games.

I hate whoever NAMED this guy Gabiru

Gabiru means rat in the regional dialect of Brazil that I live, so when I want to see specifically people of the MY region talking about rats, I can't, because ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR ISEKAI USED IT, most results are about this guy now. Never watched this show, but even if he is the best written character ever created I still hate him, can't see the funny video of an old man fighting a rat with Shingeki no Kyojin 1st Opening playing background anymore.

This is also why even not being famous, I still have the habit of naming characters changing atleast a bit of the word, becayse I was tired of looking for japanese myths and only finding Naruto characters, even if I don't have the actual impact of Naruto I still don't wanna do what I hate.

Don’t get me wrong I love Andre and I’m not someone who views him as solely being the lumbering injured man he was during the late 80s (seriously the guy could move in his prime; https://youtube.com/shorts/mISSW5a6ksQ?si=M_QDhFzhQ9u5cvdf)

But against genuine MMA fighters above the 200 pound mark he is getting COOKED, Jones would fry those knees and Lesnar would slam him on his head.

I hate how people use the "mid"

Upvotes

This is the dumbest shit ever, i always thought that when someone say something is "mid" its a 5 or 6/10, something that is average, middle of the pack but i was wrong they either meant is was the worst thing in existence or its a 7 or 8/10

So why tf would you call it "mid" if its clearly either below average or above average, they throw this word around so much that its so infuriating trying get a review something without having to make themselves clear

Obviously, I am not hating on Hitoner; it's an amazing manga. I am hating on this ai-generated "animation" of the manga. It's the first result on YouTube when you look up "Hitoner," and it does not indicate in the title or thumbnail that it is AI. mfw blatantly stealing someone else's intellectual property and then beep-boopifying it

I hate when people blow their own minds and go viral by misunderstanding obvious jokes

Post image
Upvotes

This is a pretty narrow point, but I know I have seen other examples of this genre of viral post. It basically goes, "OMG, I *just* realized that [this extremely famous joke that everyone already understands] is actually about [incredibly stupid interpretation that makes no sense]." And it's followed by thousands of repliers losing their minds that they were *today years old* when they finally learned this amazing fact.

Anyway this is the only one where I knew I could locate a good example. I have seen this particular misinterpretation of "Why did the chicken cross the road?" go viral at least 3 times, posted years apart and by different people. Does anyone have any other examples of this type of thing?

Edit: Since a few repliers have been confused, the obvious misinterpretation of the joke is the one pictured, the one about the chicken being suicidal. The chicken crossing the road joke is an early example of anti-humor. The joke is that there is no joke. The chicken is crossing the road for the same reason anyone else would.

This is why I hate current Peter Griffin. (LONG POST BUT HAS A SUMMARY)

Post image
Upvotes

I’m going to be making multiple of these, but right now I’m starting with Peter Griffin. If you think otherwise, I don’t care. I don’t mean that in a malicious way, I mean I don’t care if you think otherwise because it’s what you think of the show. I don’t mind. This is just what I think.

Peter Griffin was introduced as a loving father who generally isn’t that suited to be one. He was dangerously stupid but he had mind in the right place and his references of TV shows and movies in his back pocket. The family guy who would love his wife and children and wouldn’t frequently make it this uncomfortable relationship, and instead be a dimwit father who had a generally good heart, and if not to all the people that lived in Quahog, it was especially to his family. That doesn’t mean he was amazing to his family, no. He would definitely make mistakes that would be usually for comedic purposes like his obsessions or spikes of overexcitement. Some examples off the top of my head are shooting Lois with a tank, nearly exploding her, avoiding saying “I love you.” to Meg despite it being said earlier in the show, making Meg a “fart smeller”, attempting to do red neck stuff to Meg, believing a horrible reason to love his daughter more, beating up a 15 year old boy, etc that is obviously existent but I cannot name.

The thing is that, despite his radical approach to comedy that isn’t necessarily seen in other adult comedies, he still kept the recognizable sense of morality that made him such a dumb but well-intentioned figure to the audience. He had more moments where you could see that he knows he is a father, a husband, and a friend. He would learn from his mistakes and was willing to change if it meant being better at something big or small. This is something specifically that I find extremely relatable in a interesting way. Lessons were learned, and that there wasn’t only a mirror held up to society saying “You’re ugly and we know it too.” but also a man(or dog, baby, mom, or daughter) who learned something that episode. Not every episode, but that time. Some examples are Pete settling down on his alcohol consumption, making his wife happy anytime she is sad, saving his wife from the Mafia and was willing to sacrifice himself in her place, or even going out to beat a celebrity for the sake of his daughter.

But, the longer we go, the further we notice that Peter Griffin changes, a lot. The father figure and loving husband that we once knew was well intentioned just turned into a dangerous man on the spectrum. Peter Griffin nowadays is completely comfortable with saying he hates his family, and doesn’t care much for their safety, and has the audacity to make excuses for almost getting them killed instead of apologizing. Along with the funny writers without the hit or misses, current Peter has lost all of his feel so hard, it’s almost hard to describe, or at least mention all at once, but let’s start here.

He is a horrible person now. He traded ALL of his development and even the morals and values he had since the pilot for hit or miss jokes targeted to teenagers. Their excuse? Adults don’t watch the show anymore. All the 40%(at that time) of the audience are teenagers, let’s avoid 100’s of the good movies we watched and move on to social media and what teenagers are into and ruin our main characters. Sorry, just had to vent, don’t worry that will be another discussion.

Anyway he’s a horrible person. Some examples? Destroying Brian’s face over a dog toy rope, crushing a kids head in for a jetski to move 6 feet, teleporting out of his own car to move to another car just to watch TV, completely abandoning and endangering his family, shooting Meg, saying he hates his own family just through a few interactions, etc which I cannot name(but trust me, there’s more). He is willing to put everyone in danger for shenanigans or not. The worst part? HE LEARNS NOTHING, BARELY ANYTHING MEANINGFUL IS PICKED UP!

You know how I said in the 2nd paragraph that “Lessons were learned, and that there wasn’t only a mirror held up to society saying “You’re ugly and we know it too.” but also a man(or dog, baby, mom, or daughter) who learned something that episode. Not every episode, but that time.”
right? Yeah well recently the most meaningful thing Peter has learned recently in the past few seasons is that he shouldn’t break his friendship for spoiled friends that wanted a piece of the cash that could be rewarded for selling a rare action figure that literally came from his butt. Yes, that’s right, his butt. That’s not problem though, it’s that he isn’t given any good lessons to learn, much less we could take in. Why would we learn that friendship is more than value if the friends were being spoiled over money?

I admire the visible attempts, it feels so bland seeing the new ways that the writers are trying to make lessons in the new family guy. This is just ONE example btw, I’m too tired to make more.

In conclusion, Big Pete has suffered a horrible strike of flanderization that has overall ruined his character. If I were to attempt to improve his character, I would start with small gestures of affection towards his family and having him find more touching messages of his experiences. Trying to help out Chris with his homework, willing(but hesitant) to help Meg with her school problems, being more worried about how Lois thinks, being more hesitant about the idea of inflicting needless harm, feeling more struggle to reach the solution to the conflict of the episode and having the story acknowledge the tone of the situation and be a little more subtle with the jokes during that moment. Not anything that completely 180s his current character, but subtle nudges into a direction that seems more appropriate for a family guy, a man who is willing to put sacrifices at hand in extreme situations.
Thank you for reading this all, and goodnight, Reddit.

I know, long conclusion, right? That’s why I made a summary of the post down there👇

In short, Peter Griffin suffers from flanderization that made him a almost unrecognizable character compared to his earlier seasons, although I do believe that he is capable of being written to be morally correct if they put more effort to show his wellbeing.

I hate the tactic of shifting goalposts from "that never happens" to "who cares"

Post image
Upvotes

It's only manipulative bullshit from pathetic loser redditors who know they're wrong but are too fucking pretentious to ever admit it. They start with flat-out denial because they assume you won't have proof. The second you bring receipt after receipt, they just change their monolithic NPC response to "it's rare", then "who cares lol" and finally settle on their generic, mindless rhetoric.

When they have zero actual logical arguments left to hide behind, they go straight to infantilizing you and treating you like piss so they can pretend they "won" the interaction while never giving a fuck about the actual argument.

The entire point of this is to piss you off until you walk away out of frustration, allowing them to sit back and pretend their original gaslighting bullshit was valid all along.
