Also Jabba wasn't a draft dodger and in his youth could, in fact, kick some serious ass, according to the EU novels. He ran with Boba Fett as a mercenary FFS. Jabba was literally the crew's "heavy" and not just as a pun, he could reliably beat serious opponents to death with his hands and tail. tldr Jabba when he was young and healthy was actually a terrifying physical combatant and earned his reputation.
