So this is assuming one is playing a smaller gig of instruments->mixer->pa system. Most mixers have the XLR ports that are preamped to support mic fidelity and quality. But the issue is- you want to run your vocals through a pitchshifter to get that low, gurgling sound. A pitchshifter typically being a pedal using a 1/4 inch jack connection as opposed to a XLR.

Do you get a 1/4 to xlr converter to plug the microphone (and associated pitch shifter) into the slot for XLR on the mixer, or do you run it through the 1/4 inch (and thus lose a lot of quality and signal) or is there some better way I'm not thinking of here?

I also hope Codys doing good, when i was talking to my friend she said that Aaron midcalf had last talked to him in ~2018 and he doesn't know what happend to him since then. Im not one for being all like "why isn't he on instagram?! I have to know what he is doing all the time!!!" Just genuinely hope hes doing okay.

Bought a recent compilation from Rotten Foetus Records containing all of their material from the late 80s to early 90s. They apparently influenced a lot of "noisecore" and of course old school mince in Brazil, you can definitely hear it on ROT with the vocals.

Largely inspired by the soundtracks of horror cinema, GIAATLITW is 20 Minutes of grinding cyber chaos decorated with synth, harsh noise, feedback, piano, and choir, documenting stories of a century-old terroristic beast.

Out of all my projects under Migraine Fetish this is by far the one I've put the most effort and time into, and I'm super excited for people to hear it!

A listening party will be held August 14, 2026, which will shortly be followed up by the official release of the album.

Industrial grind duo from Chicago! Just came across them but think they crush it.

I've been a metalhead for 25 years and have "slept on" grindcore for that entire time. I've just discovered Nasum and love it, are there any similar bands? By similar I mean pretty much the same btw.

Have been obsessed with that Fake Dust record and have been trying to find some more current bands playing in that vein. Things like insect warfare, discordance axis, fake dust, internal rot, prowler era pd. Help me I don't know why I can't find what I'm looking for and it's driving me up a wall
