Hi everyone! I’m planning to apply to Euroculture and European Politics and Society (EPS) for the 2027 intake. I would really appreciate an honest assessment from alumni or previous applicants, particularly regarding my chances of receiving an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.

• BA in History and Archaeology, specialising in Eastern European Historical Studies, from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
• Final grade: 95/100, degree with honours, top 5% of my cohort
• Presented research at eight academic conferences, with published abstracts
• News Editor at Suspilne’s European Perspective project, covering European affairs and cooperating with European public-service media through the EBU (1.5 years)
• Internships at Ukraine’s Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty as an editor and translator, and the Foreign Policy Council “Ukrainian Prism”
• Selected for a funded traineeship in the Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, starting in October 2026
• Completed two Invisible University for Ukraine/CEU courses on Ukraine–Poland–Europe memory relations and the constitutional history of European integration
• Completed a semester-long University of Maryland course on borders and memory politics, including a joint project with American students

I understand that receiving a scholarship is considerably more competitive than admission itself. Based on successful scholarship recipients you know, would you consider this a strong, average, or weak profile for Euroculture and EPS? What would you identify as its main weaknesses?

Average - below average cgpa,what made your profile stronger ? Is it work experience? I am really curious to know

I was sitting in a park near my house when a person approached me. I didn’t realize at the time that the area might be private property.
The person took a photo of me and said something along the lines of I’m watching you. I found this quite unsettling because I wasn’t causing any trouble or interacting with anyone. I just arrived to Poland to do my Erasmus here from two days ago and this happened I’m half Algerian and half Italian and I don’t know why this happened. After what he said I left the place but I really feel unsafe here what should I do I didn’t start my Erasmus yet even.

I’m only a few days into my Erasmus year in Florence and I honestly feel a bit ridiculous writing this because I know it has barely started, but I’m struggling so much more than I expected.
I moved here for what’s supposed to be a full academic year, and I’ve been waking up incredibly homesick basically every morning. I really, really miss my home, my roommates, my friends, and just the feeling of having my own safe little life where everything and everyone is familiar. Right now I feel like I would give anything to just be back there for a bit.
I’ve had some genuinely fun moments going out, but most of the past few days I’ve just felt so lost and lonely.
The social part is making me really anxious as well. There are endless Erasmus group chats with people constantly asking who is going where, and on Instagram it feels like everyone I’ve met is already out doing things with other people and forming their groups. I’ve met people I like, but I don’t really have ‘my people’ yet, so I constantly feel like I need to keep up with the chats and go to things or I’ll fall behind. It feels like competing in some kind of social Olympics and I’m completely drained from it. I’m also just so tired of the endless small talk. I miss having a deep conversation with a person I actually feel safe and comfortable with. I feel displaced and stressed and very exhausted, and then because I’m already so exhausted, I feel like I can’t even perform well socially when I do go to these events. Which then makes me even more anxious that I’m not connecting with people properly.
I also really don’t feel at home in my accommodation. I came from living with female roommates I felt extremely comfortable with, and now I’m in a huge house (that is in very bad condition) with two older male roommates who smoke inside, are super messy and basically live at night. They are friendly I guess, but the house just doesn’t feel like home to me at all. I keep wondering whether I’d be happier and more able to get out of my shell if I had gone the route of living with other Erasmus students instead.
I know it has literally only been a few days, so I don’t want to make some dramatic decision based on what could just be the hardest part of the adjustment. But at the same time, I genuinely feel stuck here right now and I keep debating whether coming here was a huge mistake and whether I should just go home before the academic year starts.
I’m already thinking things like, ‘what if I still feel this way in two months?’ and wondering whether I should shorten my exchange to one semester. I know it’s probably way too early to be thinking about that, but right now I really just want to go home.
I also have a pre-existing mental health condition and a really rough relationship with my family, which has made the past few months very stressful as well. I think I was already running on pretty low batteries before coming here, and I’m scared that I’ll feel even worse now that the safety net I did have (my home, my roommates, my friends and my familiar life) is suddenly gone.
For people who had a genuinely rough/homesick start to Erasmus or studying abroad: how long did it take before things started feeling normal? Did you also feel like everyone else had already found their group before you did? And how did you know whether you were just going through an adjustment period versus actually being unhappy with your exchange?
I’d especially love to hear from people who seriously considered going home at the beginning. Did you stay? Did it actually get better? I really need a life line right now because I feel completely lost.

Hey guys, need some outside opinions here. I’m a 3rd-year student at UPB (Bucharest) and I got picked for Erasmus+ in Barcelona for semester 2. Only issue is… idk if I’m actually going anymore. I’m kinda freaking out about failing exams over there since most classes are in Spanish or even Catalan, and if I flunk something, I’m stuck retaking it (labs and all) in year 4 sem 2. Sounds like a logistical nightmare tbh.

My friends are all “just go, stop overthinking it, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing,” which, yeah, sounds great in theory. But what do you guys think? Anyone been in this spot before? Is it worth the risk or should I just play it safe and stay home?

I'm planning my 2027 winter semester Erasmus right now and Istanbul seems like a good choice. My university offers two partnerships:

Bigli university and Koç university.

I am majoring in political science and my main focus is international relations. I am obviously aware of the base facts (bigli is in the city, Koç far away etc) but I want to hear some opinions from people who actually have some insight or experience.

What should I choose? I wouldn't live in the student dorms on campus, because I do want to experience Istanbul and I don't want to share a room. However, I am quite interested in my studies so I don't just want an easy semester either.

I will be attending köln üni as an exchange student in the upcoming year. I have applied for kstw 6 months ago and still waiting. Whenever i email them, their response is that they cannot say anything certain.

The senester starts in october and i am getting a little worried. Does anyone has any experiences with them? If yes, when did you get a room offer?

The private wg room prices are high and i am coming from a economically smaller country. I am not sure if i should wait a little more for the dorms or start looking for private accommodation as they will get less and less available as the time goes on

I’m currently doing an Erasmus mobility and I noticed that I made a mistake when I first created my Online Learning Agreement (OLA).
I accidentally selected 2025/2026 as the academic year instead of 2026/2027.
However, everything else is correct. My mobility dates are September 2026 to January 2027, and my OLA was already approved/signed by both my sending and receiving institutions before my mobility started.
My mobility has now already started. I am already in France, I am registered at the receiving university, and everything regarding my arrival and enrolment has gone normally.
I recently made some changes to my courses because I discovered that some of the subjects I initially selected are actually offered in the second semester. I was able to add and delete the courses in the OLA without any problem. The only thing I cannot change is the academic-year field.
I have already contacted my sending-institution Erasmus coordinator, but she is currently on holiday and will be back after a week I am also contacting the receiving institution to ask whether they can give me access to correct the academic year or advise me on what to do.
For anyone who has experience with Erasmus OLAs:
Do you think this is generally okay since the mobility dates are correct, the OLA was approved by both institutions, and my mobility and university registration have already started normally? Could this cause problems later with my Erasmus mobility or paperwork? Has anyone had the same issue?

I’m planning to go on Erasmus to Madrid next year during the summer semester (from around February to June/July), but what worries me the most is the cost of living. Approximately how much is rent, and what are the other monthly expenses like?

Is there any weightage for ielts scores in erasmus. I have heard that they give it 10 per cent. I have 6.5 overall with nblt 6. Will it work?

I am lucky enough to spend this upcoming semester in Italy doing my Erasmus. I found a room in a different city than where I am supposed to study for a relatively okay price. I did everything online and had an online viewing of the apartment. 

I arrived last Friday, and everything seemed fine, but the thing that I immediately noticed was that the room is next to a busy road. I live at the entrance to the town, and cars drive by all day. Literally day and night, and it isn't quiet for even 5 minutes. Even with my windows closed and the blinds drawn, it is as if you are standing next to the road. I can't even watch a movie at a normal volume and feel like I have to turn the laptop up to max to even hear anything. At first I was like that I maybe need to get used to it, but I am here to study, and I can't even sleep with the constant stream of cars, motors and ambulance coming by constantly. 

My question is whether this is a valid reason to stop my contract and find a new room. I officially have a 6 month contract and have already paid the first month. I found the room through HousingAnywhere. All help and advice is welcome.

I applied to NeuroData for the 2026 intake and was rejected. I'm reapplying for 2027 and want to make sure I'm not repeating the same mistakes. Quick background:

BE in Electronics & Communication Engineering, 2021–2025, CGPA 8.46/10 with honors (roughly top 10 of 62 in my department)

Final-year project: real-time EEG left/right motor prediction using an OpenBCI Cyton board, SVM/LDA classification, ERD/ERS in the Alpha/Beta bands which hit ~73% accuracy

Currently doing two NPTEL courses to shore up the general biology background my engineering degree doesn't cover

Currently working full-time in cloud/DevOps (unrelated to neuroscience) while doing this on the side

If you're a current student, alum, or got an interview last cycle, I'd genuinely appreciate honest answers to any of these:

1. How much did the interview (if you got one) focus on biology fundamentals vs. your existing technical background?

2. Did engineering-background admits typically have any formal life-science coursework, or was project experience treated as sufficient?

3. Is a documented class rank/percentile actually weighted heavily, or is it more of a soft signal?

4. Any specific track (Bar-Ilan → which partner university) that tends to favor engineering backgrounds over life-science ones?

Not asking anyone to review my full application just trying to calibrate expectations before I resubmit.

Hello, I am a exchange spanish student of Art History currently starting my one-semester Erasmus experience in France, and after reading some comments I am a little worried about how exigent here the system is. Really for Erasmus students, evaluation is that hard? I mean, my university asked for a level B2 which is not that much level if the exigence is that high. Help please, this overwhelms me a bit.

I am a business student and planning to do Erasmus semester exchange in spring semester but I am confused I got 2 option either Milano biccoca university or wroclaw university of economics and business.

The main problem is accomodation the Wroclaw university of economics and business is offering me the accommodation but bicocoa is not. What should I do??
