Technical question: I own a Sony Trinitron KV-36FS76E (European model) and wanted to modify the "Game" picture profile by lowering the sharpness to the minimum setting. Unfortunately, this isn't possible via the standard menu because the settings are locked, and I can only adjust the "Contrast." I tried accessing the service menu, but even there, I can only modify parameters for the "Personal" profile. Is there any way to do this? Thanks.

As you can see there are issues with the top right and bottom right in regards to convergence. Is this fixable with the magnetic strips? Also on the black screen with brightness raised up there are the stroking lines which i do not know what it means exactly.

Otherwise this is my favorite set (m tube) I've owned so getting convergence improved would make me happy

Hey guys! Recently got this big CRT to game on with my PS2, Gamecube and Wii but noticed my Wii is in black and white? I've tried the back RCA plugs and the front ones, made sure they're not loose and even tried to see if there is any option in the Wii menus but I couldn't get anything to work. Was hoping someone could help! Cheers!

My wife wants to kill me, there's significantly less space in our apartment, and it almost killed me and my friend (both over 40)

But playing Sega Genesis the way I did back in the day is worth the doghouse......(Might have to trade someone for smaller Crt)

(Not sure what flair to put this under). I have a bit of fire paranoia and I will unplug every electronic I can before I leave my house. And only plug them up while I’m using them. But I recently got an old 1997 CRTV and I’m wondering will this negatively impact it in any way that’s detrimental? (Crossposted)

I tested this tv with 240p suite at the moment of the sale, and it had Red, Green and Blue bars displaying fully. But after a few hours of use, reds started flcikering off, and now they are barely flickering on. Could this really be only bad solder joints, or is this tube condemned? I would appreciate your input, thanks!

Playing some Super Mario World on SNES tonight. I’ve had this TV for a couple of years now, and other than a few adjustments to contrast/brightness and some minor color adjustments, I didn’t have to do much to get it looking nice.

Currently I’ve got it connected to a Dreamcast through S-video as well, and I’ve been really impressed with the picture on the SNES just through composite. Color and geometry both look good.

Model # 27C240. Got it for free from an older woman in town who had it in a spare bedroom. She just wanted it out of her home to make space. I was happy to oblige. I’ve played a ton of Dreamcast on it, and beaten all 3 of the DKC games since getting it set up. It’s a core part of my retro setup.

I think i wish it was just a LITTLE brighter, but this is as bright as i can get it before the picture quality starts looking actually bad and washed out

The colors and music really entertain him. He also has made the connection that the buttons make things happen on screen. I think this is what it’s all about. Pvm20L5 for those wanting to know.

My desk is rated up to 200lbs but the monitor shelf isnt deep enough to steadily hold them on their own, for the current moment I’ll be using the books, they seem stable enough but I don’t know if anyone has had bad experiences with stuff like this, thanks!

today was the day when i finished the last part of my a/v cart that ive been building for the past 2 months. its got 2 shelves, a power strip mounted to the back, and locking wheels. i actually overestimated the height but i decided to use a bar stool with it (even though i am a measly 6’4”)

currently i have a wii, an n64, a dish box, a vcr, a cable converter box (just for show), and soon a tivo. its all hooked up to my grail, a panasonic 20-incher.

picked up this excellent piece from FB a couple weeks ago. Finally got a universal remote and started poking around the service menu, just to realize I have no idea what I'm doing! I know that the convergence on tuber with a higher angle can end up looking pretty wonky over time, but I've also staring at the 240p test suite for too long now and need a second opinion. is it fixable from the service menu at all? if not, what would the fix be on the inside? Just adjusting the tape? All advice is appreciated!

I recently beat The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time from the Collector’s Edition on the GameCube and got the chance to experience the magic behind the 3D franchise. Next on my list is Majora’s Mask but I have yet to leave Clocktown, so more on that later. For now I am also playing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets which is helping give way to entering another amazing world of fiction.

I’m playing Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy with a 5060ti (16gb) on a 21” ViewSonic, running at 1600x1200 85hz. I think this technology is excellent for CRT gaming because you can run lower resolutions but still have a great looking picture. I’m getting 60+ fps.
