The purpose of this thread is to cut down on the amount of clutter and Troubleshooting, Price Check, ID Check, Spec(ification) Check, and just general "HELP!!" style threads often seen filling the front page of the sub, and hopefully get those questions answered more quickly and efficiently by bringing them together in one place for viewing.

Found it for free on the Nextdoor app a couple days ago. Thought it was too good to be true. Made the pilgrimage out to get it today. Almost threw out my back. But now that I got it set up I feel like I'm dreaming. Still need to get some component cables for the Wii and dvi for the PC. But oh man, even without those. It feels like such an upgrade from my old set. You all keep saying to be patient. Don't blow your money and stay diligent. After a year or so of keeping my nose to the ground. Burning with jealousy at this subs awesome gets. Finally feels nice to share my own. I think I can stop looking and yearning for one now. Which feels like such a relief but at the same time. I'm almost gonna miss that feeling of hoping for one to come my way. Can't say I've been this happy and elated with a piece of hardware in quite a while. Cheers gang! Time to put some miles on this puppy.

Got this for free, and I almost regret grabbing it.
My wife wants to kill me, there's significantly less space in our apartment, and it almost killed me and my friend (both over 40)
But playing Sega Genesis the way I did back in the day is worth the doghouse......(Might have to trade someone for smaller Crt)

Both being played on a Analogue pocket with an analogizer using an RGB signal on my Sony PVM-20M2MDU. Im using a setting in the Genesis core called "Composite blend" to help achieve the soft gradient pixel blend that creates transparencies without muting the colors or raising the black levels too much. (Im displaying the Japanese copy of Beyond Oasis titled "The Story of Thor")

My father in law says he upgraded to an LCD in 2009. Its still working fine. Does some high refresh rates too. I booted up oblivion remastered after attempting to dial in the brightness and contrast and it doesn't look too shabby. Any tips on getting a slightly brighter image without washing out the picture?

today was the day when i finished the last part of my a/v cart that ive been building for the past 2 months. its got 2 shelves, a power strip mounted to the back, and locking wheels. i actually overestimated the height but i decided to use a bar stool with it (even though i am a measly 6’4”)
currently i have a wii, an n64, a dish box, a vcr, a cable converter box (just for show), and soon a tivo. its all hooked up to my grail, a panasonic 20-incher.

Finally got this thing out of my friend’s garage where it’s been sitting dead for over a year! They got it for free because it had no picture. One broken solder joint reflow on a yoke connector (circled in photo) and one shorted RGB amp replacement later (cause of the full blue screen, blue output pin shorted to ground) and it’s back to life!!
This is easily the best CRT monitor I own, yes even better than the iiyama 514. Absolutely perfect geometry, focus and convergence that doesn’t shift at higher refresh rates, and a brighter, more color accurate image. The sharpness of the monitor is LCD-like, all these photos were taken with the monitor set at 1280x960, and it looks even better than the iiyama does at 1600x1200.
This monitor is a rebrand of the Philips Brilliance 201P10, which is almost exactly the same as the 202P40 (130kHz) which I own and have back home. These Philips monitors really do seem to be of top tier quality, right up there with Sony and Eizo units. So happy I could finally get it working, it was an amazing learning experience! Got a killer monitor out of the deal.

The colors and music really entertain him. He also has made the connection that the buttons make things happen on screen. I think this is what it’s all about. Pvm20L5 for those wanting to know.

Playing some Super Mario World on SNES tonight. I’ve had this TV for a couple of years now, and other than a few adjustments to contrast/brightness and some minor color adjustments, I didn’t have to do much to get it looking nice.
Currently I’ve got it connected to a Dreamcast through S-video as well, and I’ve been really impressed with the picture on the SNES just through composite. Color and geometry both look good.
Model # 27C240. Got it for free from an older woman in town who had it in a spare bedroom. She just wanted it out of her home to make space. I was happy to oblige. I’ve played a ton of Dreamcast on it, and beaten all 3 of the DKC games since getting it set up. It’s a core part of my retro setup.

Says it’s rated for 300lbs. Already had a few nes games. Had an snes wireless. Had the n64. The rest were purchased on eBay

As you can see there are issues with the top right and bottom right in regards to convergence. Is this fixable with the magnetic strips? Also on the black screen with brightness raised up there are the stroking lines which i do not know what it means exactly.
Otherwise this is my favorite set (m tube) I've owned so getting convergence improved would make me happy

I recently beat The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time from the Collector’s Edition on the GameCube and got the chance to experience the magic behind the 3D franchise. Next on my list is Majora’s Mask but I have yet to leave Clocktown, so more on that later. For now I am also playing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets which is helping give way to entering another amazing world of fiction.
