Okay so I'm a self published author looking for serious feedback on my debut chapter. Feel free to be as honest and brutal as you need to be so long as the criticism is constructive! I really appreciate you taking the time to look at my work 🙏

Working on a graphic novel. Would appreciate any feedback.

Hi everyone,

So I'm mostly a 3d artist and have had these characters and idea for years now. About a year ago I decided to start writing a graphic novel and managed to complete 2 volumes worth. I'm super excited. So now I'm working on drawing pages and paneling and would love some feedback.

In the simplest of summaries, the story is about a cosmic wrestling tournament. But that serves as dressing to a large cast. It's found family action comedy. It's weird to describe but in essence I was going for that Saturday morning cartoon feel. Think Futurama + tournament style influence.

So attached are 2 pages before it gets cosmic wrestling tournament-y.

It took a lot of practice as I haven't really consistently drawn in a long time. I have these characters modeled out though.

Would love some feedback on the paneling, art style.. It's a connective page leading into a splash.

Hola! This is my comic, it's called "El Tormento" i.e. "The Torment". I'm looking for feedback, I just released Chapter III. It's in Spanish, but you can't easily Google Translate it, and there's a whole episode without dialogues. I made the whole thing. Even the website.

I'm looking forward to hear from you.

Tried to make a shoujo manga-style page

Here's a single page I made. I tried to make it look similar to a shoujo manga page (though the art-style here doesn't seem quite like that). This is meant to be read right-to-left.

Would love feedback on this, particularly the paneling & artwork.

Need feedback on my latest manga one-shot ✍️

(Read from right-to-left <<)

I recently finished my latest one-shot, which I submitted to the Kyoto International Comic Contest 2026 🏅

But of course, I am completely blind to the quality of my own work 😭

So that I can keep getting better, it would be great to get some honest feedback, especially on things that you don't enjoy or think can be improved.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look 🙇‍♂️

A solo artist creating a comic and 3d animated series.
Is there potential in either?

Hey guys, young aspiring artist and writer here. Would love some feedback on my new manga RED CAPE VOYAGER.

So in these images, you will find some examples for my pencils, inks, and colours. You can read the manga here!

VIZ Originals, although they did reject this submission, they said they enjoyed reading it, so I hope you do too!

To give some context, this is the story: Ryuto is a wandering hero with strength beyond imagination and no idea where he came from. In a world torn apart by the war between humans and Azalians, he fights to protect those in danger, refusing to kill even his most ruthless enemies. But Ryuto isn't human. He isn't Azalian. So what is he?

The idea of a "wandering, lone hero" was the base of this idea, along with inspiration from popular manga such as Trigun.

My teacher, Toshio Maeda has complained a lot about my inking, mostly because I don't use the traditional tools such as G-pens, I find it much more efficient to use a Tombow Fudenosuke, and Sakura Microns.

Story-wise, I was given a very sharp page limit, so there is a lot that had to be cut, or compressed, resulting in this pilot chapter to be much more simple, and borderline generic than I wanted it to be. Since RED CAPE VOYAGER has been quite popular so far, I'm going to start working on a full story soon, 10, 20 page chapters that will be the full story.

Anyway, I hope you guys like it!

Artist trying to get a proper grip on comic-making (feat. my self-indulgent, goonerific batman fancomic) NSFW

Some backstory: I've been trying to knuckle down and really start work on a rather ambitious webcomic project of mine, which has been very exciting, but through the process of making the first few chapters I've realised I don't actually know much about the actual process of comic-making at all.

So, instead of working on that, I'm procrastinating practicing with making some very self-indulgent batman fancomics. This sequence I actually made quite awhile ago, but I'm still pretty proud of it, despite some hiccups here and there.

I've tried my hand at a self-critique, but there are some gaps in my knowledge due to my lack of experience with comics. Namely:

- I feel the story is super strong for the first six pages and the splash page reveal on page 6 is very effective. But, after that, things kind of fall apart. I can tell that the panelling is overall weaker and it's harder to tell what's happening but... Why exactly?

- My art has definitely improved since I drew this but I still suffer from a lot of the same problems, the most relevant being that I get lazy very easily. I know you're supposed to conserve your energy and only put in the effort needed for appropriate panels, but I do wonder if there's any way I can build up my stamina.

- Weirdly specific, but: "shouting" speech bubbles. I suck at drawing them 😭 and I'm not sure how to go about them

- I struggle really hard with scripts and have been trying to find a middle-ground between following a script entirely and making it up as I go. It sometimes works out, sometimes doesn't. I've found that rough outlines help but I haven't really found an exact workflow yet - any suggestions?

and of course, feel free to offer any additional thoughts on my work I may have missed myself, I would appreciate it lots!

I'm asking for critique for this sequence despite it being old because it's the only one I've fully coloured and cleaned up, as opposed to the rest of these "practice comics" that I plan on leaving almost entirely as just sketches. If anyone's feeling particularly generous, I am uploading the comic here and would love feedback on my more recent (unfinished) work too, but that's very much asking a lot. Please note that while there's no explicit content in it yet, I have marked the series as 18+ due to plans I have for the future.

Thanks for taking your time to read!

Is this too weird to be a comic cover?

Upvotes

What do you guys think? I got a message saying that I need to "add context or this post will be deleted". Hmmm... not really sure what the context is. It's one of four variant covers for a horror anthology. The other covers are the images that are in the little tiny circles on the left hand side.

Делаю свой комикс день 1

Upvotes

Looking for some advice for creating my first 30-45 page pilot for my Illustration degree finals.

Upvotes

Hello there, I'm a young artist (early 20s) who's looking to take the plundge and begin creating my first ever, fully fledged comic book, which im looking to make as my final piece of work in art school (studying illustration). I've created some smaller ones/unfinished comics before but I've mostly been looking from afar with making comics, learning from peers and just binging alot of content from it. My strength have been in the art department mainly though, which is why I've come here to ask for writers tips and general advice for making such a project.

For starters, our finals is very open, and will take place over a span of a couple months (but im planning way in advance to help future me with timing). I'm looking yo follow the uni's comic and concept courses model of a 30-45 page book to keep in competition with them. Additionally, I'm aiming this to be a pilot book to a possible series. The goal ain't to leave it on a cliff hanger as I know some of the best stories are self contained, more like a "here's what I can do" and leave the door open for further development if im lucky.

The main advice I'm looking for is how do you go ahead and plan our a story that is self contained and fits the 30-45 page number without over writing or under delivering.

The comic is gonna be an action/comedy story set in a fantasy western world. The premise is that the moon above is cracked and drops many meteors down, which contains special powers to those who claim them. This leads to everyone being interested in trying to harvest all of these shards of the moon and becoming akin to the irl fossil wars where bandits and outlaws were hired to harvest and retrieve bones, one this time it's these magic shards of power.

Thanks for taking the time out your day to read this.

So I want to make a comic

It was a small dream since I started to draw a few years back and I wanted an opinion on whether I should try to make a small comic strip for a character I made.
I don’t think my artwork is perfect but I think I’ve gotten better but I can’t figure out if I should do the comic strip so I’ve turned to Reddit to ask attached is the character and the setting the story would use.
It’s about a dropout tech guy who tried to be a cop for a bit but now needs money to pay a debt after a bad injury

Adult photo converting into comics?

Upvotes

Hello there

Hope you are doing well. I have a question, namely, I am preparing and adult graphic novel. Currently just completed the screenplay, all the writings and corrections. Final thoughts implemented and almost ready to prepare it for publishing.

At the moment, I cannot find any adult editing platform that would let me convert photos into strip images. Even with premiums paid.

Your help would be appreciated.

Lmk if there's still anything you'd like to point out. Might still be able to touch it up before I go live.

Longtime Artist but New to Comics, Looking for Feedback!

Upvotes

Hello!! I've been beginning work on a webcomic for a few months now. I'm wrapping up what I would consider my "test run" of pages, before taking a pause to redo some drafting and other behind the scenes stuff and reassessing my approach as I continue with the chapter.

I'm primarily looking for feedback on how best to balance a greyscale comic (if things are readable or if the values are too muddy), and if the speech bubbles + text feel too "tacked on." But any sort of input or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'm posting the first fwq pages directly onto the post, but I also have a link to the comicfury hosting site for anyone who might be willing to give what I have so far a more extensive look!

Hey everyone I am making a comic I have had this idea for a while but was hoping you’d give your feedback on overall character design and page layout on my first page! If anyone has questions about the characters or anything I’d be happy to answer thanks all! Oh and the second picture was a concept cover I did a while ago
