Mourning/Loss A cats love

I apologize in advance if this post amd flair does not follow suit to this sub

I lost my father 4 days ago and my two girls have inexplicably been tied to my side I dont cry but I have become a shell of who I should be. Just going through the motions of life mainly to keep them happy. But yet they don't ask to play, they stopped asking for the routine timing of their meals and their treats. They just snuggle and smother me. They take turns on who gets to be on my chest and who sits between my legs.

I used to be the kind of person who just assumed cats were not loyal or affectionate until I got the chance to have the two I have now ( 1 I have had for 2 years and has taught me so much, the other is have had for about 5 months).

I wish others knew how intuitive and smart cats can be and how grateful we should be to have earned their love just as dog owners feel.

Sorry in my feels here is some cat tax
