This mf is BY FAR the DUMBEST FUCKING THING in the game. 90% of his attacks are UNDODGABLE and have like 3 km of reach. He fucking STUN LOCKS and two shots you. The parry window is almost fucking non existent half of the time. And just to get the Rakuyo they put 2 of them in a cave. Once the second one comes it’s over, you can’t do anything, they just spam launches and instakill you. And before someone says “skill issue” nah fuck you, this is a dumb enemy with dumb design that is difficult for the sake of it and unfair.

What are we meaning by Parry? Just dodging? Or is this some game mechanic that I have completely not utilized?

Shooting your offhand gun at the right moment interrupts (parries) an incoming attack, setting you up for a riposte strike. Not all attacks can be parried and the timing is tight. Practice a bit on weaker enemies to get a feel for it.

I spent literally my entire first run using almost nothing but the 2-handed transformed hunter axe. I didn't learn how to parry until my second playthrough.

Bloodborne was my first soulslike and I basically never parried. I just never really tried so it was kind of out of sight out of mind and never became part of my repertoire until Sekiro forced it. I got so used to playing without using the left hand item that I wasn't even using my shield in Elden Ring or DS3 and only got into using those when I played Demon's Souls. So now that I've gotten used to parrying and using the left handed items... I still don't parry in Bloodborne.

Bloodborne is the only soulsborne where I parry (except sekiro) because the timing is super easy. The basic gun comes out so fast that it's actually easy to pull off and the rewards are incredible if you have the right runes (it can heal you, gives you bullet, etc...)

I used a dex build so viscerals did tons of damage too. It's win-win.

Yeah same. I'll parry a black Knight in dark souls but that's about it. Every semi difficult enemy in bloodborne i attempt to parry a few times because the timing is so forgiving. Oh and Martyr Logarius I dont think I could even do that fight without parries.

Logarius and Maria are so easy when you parry them it's incredible.

Even Orphan can be cheesed in a loop with parries (I never managed to do it though)

Oh yeah the black and silver knights in ds, I parry the absolute fuck out of those guys. It's just so easy and satisfying.

That was exactly me until Logarius and the Shadows stopped me dead in my tracks, but this was my initial playthrough. I did some grinding and learned the interrupt and visceral combo. That changed my play style, opened me up to bunch of new weapons and carried me through the rest of my NG. Planning on trying out different weapons for each boss on my NG+.
