Hairloss Dear Council, is it time? Wife and barber say no.

So it looks like I get bald at the crown. At least really really thin hair around a cowlick I got as long as I can think. I don't have a problem with going bald, but I want to make sure I do it right and not just because I see something that isn't there.

Barber is the worst person to ask, like asking a butcher if you should go vegan. But I think it still works and looks good.

Yes, I agree. That's why I posted here. 😉 Wife never sees my crown, because of the height difference and my barber loves me for my tips. 😀

My barber stared at my bald spot for 7 years of good tips. I finally saw pictures from my wedding and realized I’d been substantially bald for quite some time.

I went to the barber because it was so clearly time and instead they're selling me that kabouki shit to put in my hair. Like, 3 days later I went and bought clippers and did it myself.

lol mine was telling me I should go to Turkey, it really works. I’m like “Nah, I saw Hostel, I’m good.” I know that’s Amsterdam but Turkey is just Amsterdam in a different hat.

Thanks for the answer, I tried to not do anything to the hair and not use too much overhead lighting, if that makes sense. And yes, my self crown photography skills are off, took me 5 attempts to get a kinda decent looking one.

If you're going to trust a barber with this, trust one that you're not regularly paying for a haircut. Businesses thrive off of regular clients, and a client that shaves all their hair off is likely a lost client for a barber shop.

It's kinda hard to tell with how close-up this pics are without seeing the full frame of your head and face but it's probably a "either way" situation.

Wife and barber say no. What do YOU say? (My wife wanted me to keep my thin hair but I shaved it and walked out of the bathroom surprising her. Now, she loves it.)

You’re being a little too discreet, where we can’t see the entire animal. You can blur your face, but gotta let us see what we’re working with. It does look like you could wait for sure; it still has enough density to look decent. Whether it might look better shorter or shaved? Again, let us see a little zoomed out to help discern. I would hold. Though wives and barbers are the worst to ask. Random women in the street will be more honest and unbiased than them.

My thought is better to be bald than balding. Your hair is very receeded tbh. It's not atrocious and you could wait. But better to call it at this stage than wait until it's really bad

I got no problems with receding hairline. I got a problem with balding on the crown. I like mature hairlines and can be a little thin, as long as I don't have hairloss on the crown.
