watch this Donald Trump’s immediate reaction to the 9/11 attacks was to brag that his building was now the tallest in downtown Manhattan after the Twin Towers collapsed.

Yeah so it actually turns out he’s been a piece of shit for a long time

u/Unfair-Yesterday9559 18h ago

It’s not like he was hiding it.

u/Bumblebeeeezuse 18h ago

My parents hated him since the 80s

Crazy how long people have been subjected to this freak

u/Winnerdickinchinner 17h ago

I remember my father always talking about what a scumbag he was in the 80s. Then he ran republican and my father seemed to lose his total sense of moral compass, because he will be damned if he votes Democrat. Its been a wild trip watching this all play out, kind of feels like a psychological experiment.

u/Naive_Mango8525 16h ago

What’s your dad’s thoughts currently ?

u/Winnerdickinchinner 16h ago

I dont talk to him much about politics. He is still glued to fox news and whenever I go over there its amazingly intolerable how they spin everything. He believes what he hears, they are in fear for their lives because the woke are coming to destroy the world or whatever. He was always set in his ways but hes a grumpy old man now. My mother who is a little easier ro talk to but still just conforms to his opinions, still avoids politic talk with me because we just dont see things the same way.

u/RoutineCloud5993 12h ago

Fox news and similar outlets have done massive damage. Their audience stopped being able to think beyond the party line

This is not easy for you. But I co-sign. I still keep a healthy distance from a few of my sisters because of their unbridled support for the president. To have an intellectually honest conversation with a Trump humper who makes $300,000/year is not in the least bit feasible

u/Winnerdickinchinner 8h ago

Just like talking to someone who is in full blown psychosis, you are not seeing the same thing or living in the same reality. It is a waste of time.

I am from nj originally, and I have had other people agree with similar comments before. I think its a boomer thing to be die hard for your team and scared that the commies are going to get you. I didnt go through what they went through but thats what I glean from their words.

u/StabbyMcStabsauce 17h ago

I remember being a kid watching Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. They did his home and I just remember thinking "This is a bad-guy/villain." He always looked evil to me.

u/TrickShape905 13h ago

Agreed. Even as a kid, the minute I saw this guy I knew his only real talent was self-promotion.

u/Phyrexian_Archlegion 9h ago

We New Yorkers (for the most part) have always known about trump.

When he first announced his presidency, I didn’t believe he would ever win because surely the majority of the country would never elect a 6 time bankrupter to high office, and that was before all the Epstein revelations.

My family hated him since The Apprentice. They never found it cute or funny how he treated people. A girl did a dance to the "Money, money money" theme song in school, my grandma rolled her eyes. Her parents went to prison for embezzling millione of dollars.

Edit: pic of article included for people who think I just made this up. He was also my soccer coach and one the the "wealthiest" guys in the area.

u/Dense-Profit5532 17h ago

This reminds me of the time a Texas county mutual insurance CEO absconded the country with all his clients' insurance payments, including mine. The next time I saw him, he was on the cover of a newspaper skiing down an alp with his fam looking for all the world as if he didn't have a care in the world. The "lie" part would be that Trump's first wife was skiing down with him nearby, but I swear to god that blonde celebrity in the background looked just like Ivana Trump, and it was in the 1980s.

I was born in 1978 and recognized the evil of this man as a young kid in the 80's. Even back then I realized he represented all the worst aspects of US culture.

u/millahnna 14h ago

I'm in your age group and yeah, he was already offputting to me for reasons I couldn't really pin down long before he made his Home Alone cameo, let alone got his terrible tv show. At the time, I just didn't like the way he talked. I was too young to realize I was picking up his overall evil villain vibes.

We knew he was a 💩 back in the 80's when his ex warned us, when he took out several full page ads to call for the return of the death penalty for the black teens accused of the central park murder case "be forced to suffer". The five Black and Latino teenagers—later known as the Central Park Five—were wrongly convicted under pressure and coercion. Trump has repeatedly declined to apologize for the ads,

Trump never was the bigger problem, he’s a symptom of it.

Society has a very divisive view on insatiable greed. We all say we hate it, but our actions prove otherwise. The majority either hate it or don’t care and can’t be bothered. Then there are a significant amount of people who oddly admire it. They miss the message in popular films like Wall Street, Wolf of Wall Street, and American Psycho to a degree. They miss the point of being cautionary tales and more see them as anthems.

This admiration of greed exists in all demographics. Rich, poor, male, female, young, old, and every race that exists.

Donald Trump has been the poster boy of greed for 40-50 years.

u/Wonderful-Variation 17h ago

"Trump never was the bigger problem, he’s a symptom of it."

I'm totally onboard with the idea that Trump is a symptom of a larger problem.   But, at the same time, I think he's still almost uniquely horrible as an individual.

u/Paindepiceaubeurre 18h ago

It wouldn’t have changed anything. When Trump said : “I could stand on 5th avenue and shoot someone, and I wouldn’t lose any voters”, it was not a joke. There is absolutely nothing this creep can do that will turn off his base.

u/Original-Rush139 15h ago

People forget how Republicans accused Bill Clinton of trying to take out Osama bin Laden to distract from Monika Lewinsky.

Which explains how republicans ignored the intelligence and let 9-11 happen.

u/seriouslythisshit 9h ago

Never forget that Sandy Berger repeatedly confronted Condolezza Rice in the summer of 2001, tried to get her to pay attention to the intelligence on the issue, and told her that she needed to concentrate on Bin Laden, who was going to attack America. She told him to fuck off, since W was fixated with Sadam Hussein.

She and George W are just as responsible for 9/11 as the Saudis are, and that reality is just ignored.

He knows exactly who his target audience is.

u/Snakend 14h ago

I was in Marine Corps boot camp when this happened. We are completely cut off from civilization. But the San Diego International Airport shares a fence with Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. We were in our second week and doing drill around the barracks. We doing pretty bad, the drill instructors stopped us and told us we had to get our shit together. Two planes just took down the trade towers, one crashed into the pentagon and one crashed on its way to the white house. It was such an unbelievable story. No one believed them. One of the drill instructors said "don't you think its weird that no planes have been flying?". It was weird, but that didn't mean what they said was happening was actually happening.

9/11 happened on a Tuesday, on Thursday some recruits went to dental, which is ran by the Navy. They had the TV on, and it was the only thing playing on the TV. Those recruits came back and told us it was real. We didn't get our first real bit of information till Sunday. We were allowed to purchase newspapers on Sundays. The following week we started getting letters from family telling us what was going on. Drill instructors started telling recruits they would get their MOS (job) changed to 0300 (infantry). We started having recruits jumping the fence to the airport trying to leave. The base commander had an all hands formation and said no drill instructor was allowed to tell any recruit that their job was being changed.

Anyways, I missed that whole event. Basically the entirety of the USA and most of the world experienced this event except me and maybe a few thousand people? Every year on 9/11 I rewatch the news coverage.

There’s a lot of things democrats don’t capitalise on. There’s endless amounts of ammo to use against Trump but they rarely do. Or they’re just bad at using it

u/farnsw0rth 11h ago

I made like a collage / mural on my dorm wall after 9/11 of magazine and newspaper headlines. I wish I’d saved it somehow because it was fucking wild the shit they printed and sold. Like literal people jumping to their death to avoid the fire and smoke. WSJ had a headline that proudly exclaimed “MARKETS CHEER SHOCK AND AWE” … possibly the one that stuck with me the most was a I think an op Ed with a byline that said “what is needed now is classic white hot American rage”

9/11 was a resounding victory for enemies of the values that America, in its most hopeful and idealistic form, strives for

u/someoneinsignificant 9h ago

In the first Republican primary debate, I remember Trump said that when 9/11 happened, thousands in NJ were cheering on the rooftop when the towers fell. As someone from NJ, I thought his chances were dead after that. I expected every news outlet to pick up on how dumb he was to say that. I thought NJ would especially call him out, given many of us have family that live/commute to NYC and were personally impacted by 9/11.

But nope, very little backlash, even during the debate. In fact some "supporters" even tried to back-up Trump (which was most likely Russian election interference).

https://api.politifact.com/article/2015/dec/02/new-information-doesnt-fix-donald-trumps-911-claim/

If lying about 9/11 didn't stop him from becoming the Republican primary, mentioning it wouldn't have gotten more Democratic support. 2016 was such a weird revelation.

That in itself wasn't a red flag that he was a useless, non caring piece of dog shit?

u/AnonThrowAway072023 18h ago

u/Gunt_Buttman 18h ago

Finally! Some evidence that he's a piece of shit.

u/Thesourking 18h ago

Because he’s a selfish prick. He always has been. Fuck trump.

America, Donald Trump is really one of your own.

u/Coyote-doe 18h ago

He is incapable of being a decent person

u/NoKingsInAmerica 18h ago

Who would have thought that Donald J. Trump was a total narcissist?!

u/BenMessina 18h ago

Born and raised a piece of shit

u/buttpirate69420666 18h ago

We get it, Zion Don sucks.

Can the DNC get it together and beat a literal fast food salesman?  no

u/Past-Goat-7768 18h ago

His base likes this. It actually earns him more votes. They hear him say this and defend it by saying it's technically true while snickering. They don't care about the thousands of people who died because it didn't affect them.

u/whatsasyria 18h ago

Watch the late night sets after 9/11, some of the most heartfelt and genuine and american words....then you have this fucktard.

u/FidelKosta 18h ago

A real patriot.

u/Alternative-Web-3545 18h ago

Yes. Disgusting pos then. And same now.

u/hoople217 18h ago

I wonder why he would make such a tragic event all about himself. 🤔 Oh, it's because he makes everything about himself!

u/throwaway18032000 18h ago

The thought that this kind of monster exists in real life is scary, but now that he is president, it is horrifying.

u/OkSeaworthiness6581 17h ago

I believe 40 wall street is the building he means right. look up the trick Chrysler pulled to unseat it as the world's tallest building

u/ChillCoffeeMorning 17h ago

CIA removed all hot video interviews from YouTube

u/RedditCanadaa 17h ago

He hung up the phone and immediately went down there to help lift the rubble, according to him.
We are all still waiting on that proof.

u/Ill_Cut5547 17h ago

White people really love this guy!

I 100% believe he doesn't have a soul and has 0 redeeming qualities. Nobody can ever convince me otherwise, and that's a hill I'm willing to die on…

u/WiredOrange 17h ago

I hate this guy with a passion but I struggle to believe this is real. Theres no way someone answers like that. I did a little bit of searching and I haven't found anything to backup this audio.

No wonder he’s banned from speaking at the memorial. He’d probably make that statement again.

u/Connect-City-7217 17h ago

He has always been a malignant narcissist. (That’s not an insult, but an accurate description)

u/Accurate_Cherry1734 17h ago

Maybe Fox should take a little break from their Hasan Piker coverage and show this instead.

u/malccy72 17h ago

This should be publicised a lot more.

u/Tiktoktoker 17h ago

I mean, are we surprised? He always has and always will say shit like this.

And millions upon millions of "americains" support him and worship him like a god

u/Particular_Big_507 16h ago

Pig. Always a pig.

u/LaniusCruiser 16h ago

He wasn't even correct, Trump Tower only became the second tallest. He wasn't only an asshole who tried to use a national tragedy to stroke his ego, he was an incompetent asshole who tried to use a national tragedy to stroke his own ego. Nothing about him has changed.

u/havingmadfun 16h ago

I grew up in NY, not the city but Long Island. He was always a piece of shit. He was always a shit businessman but I totally forgot he said this shit.

u/Yaozong1 16h ago

Narcissists be narcissisting

u/CraftFormaldehyde 16h ago

40 Wall Street wasn’t even the tallest building in downtown Manhattan after 1WTC collapsed, it was 70 Pine. So he was not even right about his own buildings, which are probably the only things he actually likes.

Dude has always been an enormous scumbag, and an even bigger moron.
